  • How can you be "clean" if you smoke weed?

  • @truther247 weed is a plant from the Earth. Its technically cleaner than the sugar, flour, grease and alcohol the US government allows.

  • Guys, I know this is an old video, but I need to say this. I believe that IF you start eating coconut oil, you should cut down on your carbs. Do NOT start eating a lot of saturated fat if you're not getting rid of the sugars at the same time. Saturated fat is not dangerous in itself, only when combined with sugar/carbs. Coconut oil is actually healthy for you, sugar is not. What is your experience/ thoughts?

  • it raises the GOOD cholesterol in your body

  • No Joke - My cholesterol went from under 150 to 220 IN ONE YEAR when I started eating coconut oil regularly. I've been vegan for 12 years, so when I heard about the jump I was shocked. I'm still at no risk for heart disease, but the numbers DID jump, so I'm paring back on the coconut oil.

  • @xdustinx

Maybe this has to do with your vegan diet. I say this only because vegan diets tend to be high carb. I started eating coconut oil about three years ago and my total ch has essentially remained the same but my HDL, LDL, and trigs have markedly improved (not that they were bad before).

  • @tiggie1975

When I included coconut oil more prominently in my diet I also cut out sugar by about 90%, became about 90% more GF, and started getting more of my protein from raw, sprouted nuts and seeds. I felt a little bit better, but was still shocked at how dramatically the lauric acid in the coconut oil reacted with my genetically "high" (albeit arguably NOT unhealthy) cholesterol - all while still being vegan.

  • DurianRiders.

  • I didn't even watch it because I research enough leading Vegan physicians and scientist that has data coconut is really good for us on many level including heart health.

  • Coconut Oil is the best thing you can get for arthritus. Take two tablespoons in the morning. You can put it on toast,or put it in something like oatmeal, etc.

  • Fat is fat. Coconut oil is full of saturated fats and yes, it may assimilate saturated fats fats better than animal fats, but the cards are still on the table as far as the research is concerned. Matt is right. It is not ultimate food. You have to alter (refine) the food to eat it.

  • @plojka1 wrong boyo!

  • Hey Matt! Just wanted to let you know that the link to your blog given in your video description has an extra comma which got included into the url by mistake and thus the link leads to a 'Page Not Found'. Please rectify this.

  • @gamewizard:

Hey I use coconut oil every day. I use is as lotion and conditioner and I love to eat a piece out of the freezer, cause it melts in your mouth like candy :) I put it in smoothies and mix it into soup. I'm just saying though. There are a lot of reasons why other societies are healthier than us besides the fact that we don't use coconut oil. That is a terrible argument. Otherwise, good point, appreciated.

  • Cocnut oil does not raise cholestorol because your liver uses it right away. Besides , high cholestorol is not a problem, its what your body does with it that makes the difference. People with high cholestorol shoul dnot be on meds. The reason why your cholestorol is high, is because your liver in under nourished, so it produces more cholestorol. Plus , processed salt and white sugar ( fast food , cakes , pies , & soft drinks) , destroy your liver.

  • @tbursee I couldnt agree more..well said.

  • Your wrong because what about David Wolfe? He is probably the healthiest dude and he eats coconut products.

  • @GarretC1 if David Wolfe is the healthiest dude....I disagree. Why is David Wolfe overweight and out of shape?

  • coconut oil is a saturated fat, and should be used in moderation.

  • @bankruptleft

Wrong. There are places in the world where coconut oil is the primary cooking fat and the people in those places are much healthier than we are with our so called "healthy " oils and fats. Tropical oils are processed differently by the body because of the length of the fatty acid chains. Longer chain fatty acids like tropical oils aren't readily absorbed by the body. Shorter chain fatty acids absorb more easily and cause people to get fat and clog their arteries.

  • @gamewizard Your absolutly correct!

  • @bankruptleft

Wrong einstein...If it's hydrogenated, it's bad. Pure unrefined Coconut oil is healthy.

  • @bankruptleft yep.combine it with crisco, bacon grease, and "i cant believe it's not butter!" and you will have a symbiotic matrixed variable chained fatty acid complex fat, that will cure most degenerative illnesses, quicker than wheatgrass.this info is little known and was the main reason col sanders live so long.

  • u have good hair!! =D

  • Coconut oil is 96% saturated fat! Not a healthfood!

  • @newgtguy You need to study different types of fats in greater depth. There are different properties to different types of fatty acids. To say that all saturated fats are "bad" is an ignorant statement.

  • I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY "SOMEONE SO CLEAN" CAN'T HAVE SATURATED FATS WHEN OUR BODIES AND BRAIN RELY ON THESE FATS. I THINK THAT PART WAS A LITTLE CONFUSING, BUT LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU

  • COCONUT OIL= GOOD 4 U. TRANS-FATS (HYDROGENATED OILS TURN TO PLASTIC IN YOUR VEINS)

  • so all these doctors are telling me its great for you, and this hippy is telling me its bad?

    WHO DO I BELIEVE?!?!?!

  • @SMWhit3out That's easy, believe the hippie that was raised by Doctors, David Wolfe.

  • @SMWhit3out Him, because his research is based on findings by none biased biochemists with phds, not your fucking quack who studied WHO guidelines blindy.

  • Matt u are so important.....Thankyou for your information on raw food.Your knowledge is priceless.....And you are so cute.....Angela is such a lucky girl.....

  • Glad to see ur back Matt, I thought your vids were wiped out of youtube??

  • I think some of the previous comments are missing the point. Matt is not saying coconut oil is bad. He's not even saying it contains cholesterol (which of course it doesn't). In fact, he's saying it's an excellent food for most people. What he is saying is that he's done such extreme fasting and cleansing over the last several years that his body is too sensitive to handle coconut oil and, therefore, it has a negative effect on his cholesterol. This does not apply to most people.

  • @isis23sdb people are going to fast to listen... that's why many will miss what matt's saying.

  • That's not true, coconut is totally packed with saturated fat. There is no ifs' or buts about it dude. That doesn't mean don't be a raw foodist. Just means for me, no coconut oil in my food.

  • @pjbsso saturated fats are good for you. You need saturated fats. The ones that tell you they are no good are the corporations who make all the money selling you their heavily processed garbage.

  • A few months ago the back of my hands became all cracked and VERY sore. I applied lots of coconut oil 3 or 4 times and they got better within days. I've done this on several occassions now and it worked every time.

The problem was caused by my coat sleeves contacting the back of my hands! There must be some form of waterproofing chemical in the material. I turned up the cuffs and no longer get the problem. It did teach me one of coconut oils amazing healing properties!.

  • Coconut Oil is packed with saturated fats. Saturated fats raise triglycerides and thereby harden those arteries.

  • PJBSSO, better throw away that 1960s medical book and get your info up to speed! Your statement is SOOOO yesterday (when science was ignorant).

  • according to the blood type diet, I'm "supposed" to avoid it. But I really don't see why I should.

  • so if ur in science field u know i sugar that causes cholesterol

  • I wish you had a store where I live LOL!

  • great response...nothing wrong with spreading the good word Matt. Raw foods word that is...

  • sweet my husband is a grocery manager that would rock haha

  • I am willing to move to ojai, does that count? I live in SD.

  • many yogis use coconut oil to maintain there head hair and joint hairs.

  • Your show is great ! and you do a great job ! and those foods are good for trasition as well as loved ones who would instead eat cheetos...or something,, LOVE the pic of you and Angela dancing on the boat !! just lovely !

  • Thanks Matt. As long as your pushing wholefoods as well. We don't want people getting stuck on packaged stuff. I know how you feel about being clean. I've gone through brutal detoxes as well.

  • my story , life goes up and down , .... sound familiar ? ???

  • we are all part of the earthly organsim which in turn is part of the solar system etc , and we just sit around , walk around doing what ever we can to make our lives easier and more blissfull , no one is better than any one else , we are all doing our best , end of story ,

  • my feeling is that what ever level we are on , we are alwayws having to look and strive for the next level and putting up with others on different levels , and so there is no place where one can just go arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr , isnt life blisssss , my feeling is that a nearer state to bliss could be achieved if we apreciate the things we do have more ,

  • Matt Monarch-- try not to let them get you down. People who have something original to say, such as yourself, do so. People who don't, spend their time criticizing the doers.
