Paintballs are made out of Propylene Glycol, Sorbitol, color dye and the gelatin shell they don't fucking freeze! They become more brittle. Propylene Glycol is used in fucking antifreeze! Sorbitol is in there to prevent the paint from drying and color dye is used to color the paint obviously.

Its been proven that freezing paintballs actually makes them more brittle and thus likely to break.

A lot of pro teams used to (and still do) keep their paint in coolers before games for this exact reason.

This is a paintball myth that scares a lot of new players.

pro teams keep ther paint in coolers to keep it dry ultra evil is brittle enough already if you kept it in a cooler then water would begin to condense on it and it would become less brittle and more inaccurate because of the water so no one keeps their paint in coolers or ever did because of condensation problems

You cannot realistically freeze a paintball. It's physically impossible. The shell actually gets super brittle and the fill gets squishy. It hurts way less after they are chilled in a freezer. It's like taking a tennis ball and putting it in the freezer it and it comes out with an eggshell and throwing it at them. It simply hurts WAY less to get hit by "frozen" paintballs than normal ones.
