I totally prefer chalk + board over powerpoints. I hate powerpoints b/c not only are they boring most of the time, I feel like I could just be reading them on my computer rather than wasting time going to class and listening to someone talk to the slides. Professor Diamond is a precious professor, I am so blessed to learn from her.
Thank you so much for providing this wonderful CONCISE yet THOROUGH lecture for us. Its amazing that there is an opportunity on YouTube to hear from a UC Berkley professor! And for free! I just started teaching anatomy this year and it's great to see an older teaching style in place. I admit I use powerpoint, but my goal is to find a balance between teaching like in "the old days" and in the modern, powerpoint world.
Oh, for more teachers like Prof. Diamond. Her teaching style lives up to her namesake! Nowadays you have to plow through monotonously bland powerpoint presentations that come straight out of the text. This is old school teaching the way it was supposed to stay... and the student's learn! Long teach Prof. Diamond!!

99 percent of time she is just turned towards the blackboard and writes and writes and writes ... - unbearable - why she just can't relax and talk to the audience for a moment
She is a WAAAYYY better professor than the one I have. She takes her time, she interacts with the class, and she has a good flow to her lessons. After watching this I have an understanding not just of random vocabulary, but of an entire body system, and how it works with other systems.
Thank you Professor Marian Diamond - I'm taking human anatomy now and having your instruction compounding my lecture instruction helps me better understand all that I'm learning.
OMG! This has got to be one of the most boring instructors i've ever seen. those poor students how could they stay awake? she writes everything she says.
heh.. it's funny how she gives out that it's hyaline cartilage that's beside the perpendicular plate but asks the class anyway and becomes so impressed with them when they answer hyaline, forgetting she had just mentioned it seconds ago
she writes because in studies it shows that you will remember better this way she knows exactly what she's doing i just hope these lectures were a bit deeper but this is just an intro course at uc
This lady is SO much better then my instructor that I can hardly go to my anatomy class anymore. I just stay at home and watch Professor Diamond on Youtube. . . . . .
i love this!:) all of her videos are PHENOMENAL and have really prepped me for college bio!

@yiralaya It's called using two learning styles at once. Visual and auditory. She's a master of her craft. Where do you teach?

It's very helpful for me, as I am a nurse student. She was teaching in her style but it made me more understanding about the A&P.
