  • longboard + long slighty steep hill+ VA Beach= Perfect Day

  • is it just me that can see that the author posted the name of the song in the discription? why is everyone always asking the name of the song when its listed? JUST LOOK

  • Sweet Virginia Breeze by Robbin Thompson. A Virginia classic.

  • Song?

  • I lovve this video and that is virginia beach. i stayed in the new calvalier. its awsome. but i heard the old one was haunted like a lady was murderd there . but yeah going this summer it takes me like 3 hours to get there without traffic! i cant wait to go for my birthdaay.

  • @Ari13Boo The old Cavilier is haunted without a doubt. I've been in there of course but ghosts don't scare me much and they never messed with me.

  • Looks nice to visit.

  • @DynamicOfCapital nicer place to live.

  • I love Virginia Beach im drivin my integra down this year for the first time

  • @SonicGamer1991 wax it first so when you are cruising the strip, it looks good.

  • Ahh. This makes me MISS THE BEACH SOOO BAD!! I am ready for summer!

  • people saythe cavalier is haunted some jumoed from the top just saying what i know

  • i live there

  • okay first of all that can't be virginia beach because by the the house look totall different beach all on stilts and old looking and I lived there my entire life

  • been here...love this beach

  • they was right about Virginia, one beautiful state to live in!!!!!!!!

  • Did you get to go in the old Cavalier? If not you need to, it's beautiful!

  • @Kandizcsr83 been there several times over the years. Yes, a beautiful structure.

  • i lovee va beach!

  • very nice video of virginia beach. thank you for sharing! we love vacationing in virginia beach!

  • lived there two years and miss it,moved to florida, port richey, what a mistake.dont miss the jets flyin over though.noisy.

  • Whats the name of this song?

  • it's like the best place during the summer and the worst during the spring and fall

  • Yeah, I use to live there too. Ha! I was living in the Sandbridge area, south of where this vid was filmed. Worked at the True Value on Va Beach Blvd. - Man, back in the mid 80s I was living large, but wasn't one of the Fat Cats or Big Wigs. Just a dude that had friends there and they let me come live with them for several years. Man, I had a great time there! Thank you Virginia Beach! It was always a pleasure!

  • I just move to NewYork from College park. Im so homesick:(

  • Awsome Video!

  • I used to live behind the CAV in Bay Colony off 47th street. I heard Artic Ave was going to be closed for a year have they build the shops yet.

  • I live in Kempsville and we are facing the Witchduck, PA, Kempsville intersection rebuild which ought to be a real mess for years.

  • oh... they named it differently. 0.0 haha. that's weird. i live in virginia beach and i didn't know that.

  • Yeah, I've been here since 77 and back then it was Chic's after some guy of all things. I think it was Kerry Dougherty that wrote about the name in the Pilot. Over the years, Chicks has replaced Chics. I guess Chick's beach sounds better just by the name.

  • i live there... in fact my girlfriend lives a block over form that beach he took this footage. its chick's beach. i love that beach.

  • I took this from the top of the new Cav. Chic's Beach (as it was originally called) is great.

  • good job with the video, you did a really great job getting everything on cam,I took a video of there too when i went last year the day after my 6 year wedding anniversary, can't wait to go back there too,my little girl loved it since it was her first time at a beach.Just wondering but is the old cavilier hotel still in business?i heard that its supposedly haunted too.

  • Oh yeah the old Cav is still there and yes, it is still haunted. Most people are pretty use to the ghost noises. Not being superstitious myself, I attribute the noises to structural settling.

  • oh ok cool,i'll have to check that out sometime next time i'm over for a visit if i can afford the rooms that is,lol I'm a big believer in the paranormal and i'm always up for a good place to stay thats spooked :-)

  • i remeber when i went VA beach. it waz fun!!!!!!!!!!

  • why did they have the wedding on the new cavalier

the old one is way more eomantic but creepy in a way

  • who knows? The new Cav has an ocean view at least. I've been to the old Cav but not since renovations

  • ah virginia, brings back memories i miss living there, keep saying imma go back.

  • Sweet Virginia breeze (about 24F right now)

  • VA beach is awsome I went there last summer.I was boogy boarding and I fell off the boogy board then a wave came and went over me.

  • ahhh i wanna be there so bad... i live in colorado and virginia beach like my home away from home. freakin badass place.

  • I dunno, Colorado sounds pretty good right now. A little skiing while skipping work? nothing better.

  • yeah... i like colorado, and i live 30 mins. away from some of the most famous skiing mountains in the world, but virginia beach/east coast in general sounds sooo much better to me.

  • Well, it's 34 degrees here today so not much beach activity. Mostly cocktails and food. Man, a few hot laps down a steep slope on my 213's would feel so good right now.

  • no, id say youre the lucky one. by the atlantic... ahh its the best place in the world.

  • I got A ticket for skatbording under hotel this video was shot from. haha good times with my old fiends.

  • You and a bunch of other people all over this city. Actually Richmond might be even worse for the "Skateboarding is a Crime" mentality. Pretty pathetic (in my opinion) ticketing people for skateboarding. The "Land of the Free & Home of the Brave has become "Land of the Controlled and Home of the Scared." Carry on sailor,

  • mi gf lives n virginia

  • ok--lets get it right. ive lived in va bch 4 over 30 yrs. there are no waves, but i surf them when i can. YES, THERE ARE SHARKS!!! DONT go swimmin at dawn or dusk...hello, feeding times!!! its not what it used to be, its all "family" now, the locs cant even enjoy ourselves even off season. oh well, guess i will go to nags head, but thats a whole 'nuther story

  • awesome i dont know why but i live in virginia beach but ust decided to see how man vids hwere posted about the city

  • It's beautiful but not like Cuba. But I had a lot of fun. You must go to VA beach one time in your life!!

  • swimming in those waters scares me... too many crabs and jellyfish, i got stung quite often the last time i went

  • you forgot to mention the Sharks!

  • ha theres no sharks in VB youve been watchin too much tv

  • Headlines today's Virginian-Pilot was Man killed by a shark in Carova. They don't know what type yet but the sutosy said he was definitly killed by a shark. Go out fishing and you will see them.

  • it's called corova beach

  • or Corova Light

  • u r silly--where r u from

  • Virginia Beach

  • how is the surfing there? no cali?

  • Thanks for the post . Love the song and the video of my great city goes with it . Lived here all my life.don't know how lucky we are till I go to another states so called beach strips.I remember the old days cruzing the stip listing to this song. that hotel was the turn around .Thanks

  • I appreciate your comment and I thank you in return. A beautiful place.

  • I live Here

  • -LOCALS ONLY AT FIRST STREET-

  • you should not have mentioned that, now everyone will figure it out.

  • i wish va beach had white sand beaches. it has pretty sand, nice water, but its for definitly not white sand with gorgeous see through water.... oh welll. lets plan a trip to maui!

  • I grew up here...dont eat at the strip, except, Harpoon Larrys and Mahi Mahs.

Also drive up to 60th Plus streets so you dont have to hear the damn life guards all day.

  • If you are a little older and enjoy classic and acoustic music, I also highly suggest Abby Rd

  • i might go this year for 3 days at the most likely got any hotel recommendations that are below 100 dollars cause we can't afford Myrtle beach this year but we did last year and i had a good time it was my first time there in 9 years but please recommend things i'm 2 hours from VA beach

  • I have been to several hotels but my suggestion for a good hotel at a really good price is to wait until September or early October. Without a doubt, September is the most beautiful month in Virginia Beach. One weekend is the Neptune Festival and you don't want that weekend as hotels are sold out. Call a bunch and ask for a deal

  • instead i figured out i might go to Baltimore a night then the next day check out of the hotel at Baltimore and go to Ocean city for a night or so but that would mean waking up at 8:30am for a 3 hour drive to Ocean city but if not that then Virginia beach for a night or so and if not that then nothing last year we went to Myrtle beach in September but this year our vacation might be in August or September but still thanks for the head's up on the VA beach

  • the best western inn and la quinta inn & suites are both less than 100 dollars right now and they are in vb

  • thanks

  • your welcome

  • From Virginia Beach comes my Buick LeSabre 1988! Greetings from Switzerland!

  • that is cool. my friend has an 88 LeSabre. Lots of parts for them in our local junkyard and I go there often. Let me know if you have any hard to find parts (which is probably most of them in Switzerland) and I'll take a look next time.

  • im going 2day! Colany rocks!

  • Im going Next week on this Beach.. With all my family my brother and his family and my family

  • Well get ready to have a great time. Don't miss the Virginia Aquarium and certainly, positively go to MotoWorld. They have some fast carts there.

  • this place (cavalier) was a dump i just got back from it. it s****d b***s straight up i hated every second of it

  • Yup, go to go to Turtle Cay. I never stayed in either Cavilier but have been in both for weddings and meetings. Not my kind of place

  • man i just got back from that fucking hellhole i stayed in on the 9n'th floor it was crap the furniture was cheap overpriced rooms and bathroom too small and outdated as fuck STAY AWAY!!!

they claim to have wireless but they didnt

  • Ah...spoken with a whole lot of class. It is doubtful, based on your lack of articulation, that you would even be able to recognize class.

  • en algun lugar de esta cuidad estas hijita mia te amo

  • yeh i remember that place!!! It was very Fun/// VB

  • going there for a week

  • we goin here

  • Hey I'm ready to visit Virginia Beach .......appreciate what you do have.

    ( 20 beaches )

  • well get on over here, it has been a great summer so far.

  • hell yes it has i just stayed there on arctic avenue for a week.

  • this city is shit! ive lived here my whole life and i wanna get away! its great to visit and all, but dont live here!

  • now come on. I have lived in several other places and this really is pretty good here. If you lived in upstate NY as I once did, you would be known as VikingThe CloudGod.

  • LOL

  • home sweet home

  • I lived there when i was 3, a real shame cause i can't remeber what it was like. From the video and photos we have it looks fantastic.

  • What you see in the video is only the tourist area by the oceanfront. Virginia Beach is a pretty big city. Wiki says.... According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 497.3 square miles (1,288 km2). 248.3 square miles (643 km2) of it is land and 249.0 square miles (645 km2) of it (50.07%) is water. The average elevation is 12 feet (3.7 m) above sea level

  • it is. I went with my family last year, and we are going again this july also, we are leaving after tomorrow actually! :)

I made a video of our trip last year so u should watch it!

    :)

  • i can go there anytime i want! lol :P

  • me too thats my favorite state and my cousins live there

  • whyd i get a thumbs down, dirty dicks is a real resturant right down the street from there :O

  • not sure but it was not from me. I've been to Dirty Dick's both in VB and OBX and neither is that great. I'd easily give a thumbs down to the restuuarant but not to your comment. I gave you a thumbs up to balance things out

  • I love Virginia Beach!!

  • lol i live there its the exact opposite of white sand its all radioactive and polluted, and theres like 12 cigarette butts per square foot on the sand, and your right by roodie inlet in this, did you go to dirty dicks? great food

  • i know right they make it sound like its hawii or sumthin

  • omg virginia so does not have white sand anyway i live here and the mount trashmore carnival iz in town yay

  • I miss it out there i lived ther till i was 15 now live in little town in illinois what a change

  • Moving is toughest on kids. In Virginia Beach with the high concentration of military, kids are always moving because of parent transfers. Things could be worse that living in Illinois you know. Life moves fast and before you know it, you will be off to college and have your own life. Then move back to the east coast, the best place in America.

  • i'm from Chesapeake VA, In chicago now, I miss the Ocean seafood so much, "fried crabs"...you just don't know until you no!!!!

  • we go out to Bubba's Rockerfellers, and a couple others. I like blue crabs. watch my video Blue Crabs meet their fate you oughta get a kick out of that one.

  • chicks oyster bar!!! love that place, awsome fried softshell

  • How about Surfrider? awesome seafood in 3 locations, one at Marina Shores in the summer

  • I went there 2 years ago, in hotel Cavalier. VA is a nice city

  • Virginia Beach has a nice beach, a nice climate, nice people, and is right dab smack in the middle of the eastern seaboard. I love it here.

  • Yeah im from Europe and your right about all of that. Im sure I will come back there.

  • Although my wife travels to Europe on a regular basis, I have yet to go there and it is high on my list. Although I have been to almost every American state, and a lot of Canada, I have yet to go across the pond. I am looking forward to it greatly.

  • I'm going...any hot chicks on the beach? I've heard otherwise....:(

  • you'll just have to wait and see. bring a fire extinquisher

  • I'm a girl so I wouldn't know. But my guy friends think they're are during season :) hope this helps.

  • Im going there this summer with all my family and can<t wait to see Virginia Again, i love it very much

  • you will have a great time in Virginia Beach. Be sure to go over to MotorWorld at Ocean Breeze Park and take a few laps.

  • do you live in chesapeake, va?

  • no, in VB

  • I live in VA. Beach ^^ :)

  • Im planning a trip there right now, looks great. Any suggestions?

  • 17th Street is about the center of activity. Depending on your situation, you can go farther north for quieter family like areas. Make sure your hotel is on the Ocean side of Atlantic Ave. They build new hotels every year so you should find something nice.

  • am going here today april 4 09.

  • perfect weather here today 4/4

  • Nags Head is better.

  • which is exactly why wee take our vacations on the OBX. This year a week in Kitty Haek and a week in Duck.

  • Stayed at Station One, Camped a few times and stayed at Budget Lodge a few times, they tore budget down though.

  • Loved Virginia Beach!

  • I did too!...I aint been since '98, but it was crazy, and hopefully I'll be there this summer!

  • Can you tell me how to get this song off iTunes???? i really miss virgina...='(

  • I don't really use Itunes much so I can't help you there. I actually have the original cassette tape of Two B's Please' and believe it or not, my car is so old that it has a cassette player. The artist is Robbin Thompson and I think they recorded this in Short Pump up by Richmond.

  • Thank you! :3 i just found it on Itunes =) i miss home....=(

  • glad you found it. I can understand why you miss the Beach, I did the 5 years I lived in Oklahoma.

  • i was three the last time i saw virginia beach....=( do you live there now, btw???

  • yes I do, since 1986

  • I do too! I miss every part about that state!

  • Hello dear all,

I have spent summer time in VB at 2006,

it was my best summer in my life as I also used to work in Cavalier hotel!

    I miss it!

  • Wow, the Cavalier... hadn't even thought of that place in ages!

  • WOOHOO i used to live in virginia beach!!!

  • Yo this hotel is haunted.the elevator randomly goes on diffrent floors =(

  • That's called poor maintenance :P

  • this hotel isnt haunted, the Cav on the hill is... this is the newer cav, on the ocean front ...

  • i live there on the beach

  • yeah, go virginia! im living in the sweet virginia breeze. if youre going to va go during the neptune fest. its the best time for va beach. Nice Video. Also go to Richmond or Hampton, VA.

  • A few months ago I ran across this video and I must have visited this site about a hundred times since...thank you so much for posting this...I am 49 and moved to Texas in spring 2000...first time I cried my eyes out...now I just watch it and think...one day...one day soon....I am a single parent who has one down college graduate and four to go...my time is coming....and then I am going to be living in the Sweet Virginia Breeze! xoxoxoxox

  • Thanks. Very nice of you to say how much you enjoy this. You have my sympathy having to live in Texas. I lived in Oklahoma for 5 years and was so happy to get back to Virginia Beach. My daughter graduated from VT last May and none more to go.

  • VA will always be home, but I love Texas! I also moved here in 2000, from Richmond. I love the weather here and don't miss the cold one iota.

  • I lived in Richmond back in the late '70's, and Robbin Thompson is a very, very fond memory. Thanks for posting it!

  • I appreciate the comment. What a great time that was in Virginia. We had a blast.

  • i live there.

and there are loooots more ppl there now then when you took the video and those houses are looong gone all hotels now.

  • I live there too. I took this last August from the top of the Caviliar while at a friends wedding. Those houses are up at the north end.

  • lol i lived there all my life, not really glamorous but down in Virginia Beach is freakin Schweet (too many dam mustangs, also my dad has a corvetter :P)

  • new jersey can suck a dick cuz the ppl there get on my nerves&&start shit!!!!!

but anyways--->>>>i was at virginia beach this year and it wasss funn!!!!!:p EXCEPT..the jelly fish!!!they got on my nerves&&it's BEAUTiFUL there!!!

  • I love the beach there but the problem is there a fish to close to the shore one tim i was swimming there and i got attacked by small fish jumping on my face lol!

  • is there many nice cars in virginia beach ?? or wealthy people?

  • a few, most of the nice cars and wealthy people I see are in New Jersey. Probably the best place to see classic cars on a regular basis is at Jenro's drive in on Independence near Haygood on Saturday afternoons.

  • awsome! now when i say nice im refering to like exotic sports cars and luxury cars like ferrari lamborghini rolls royce etc.

and are the places you named in virginia beach or nj?

  • For classics, the best place is Syracuse during the Nationals. In VB you do see some exotics and classics, but for expensive and exotic action, north Jersey is the place unless of course you go to Santa Barbara which is just something else for cars. Poor people there drive BMW 7 series.

  • awsome thanks so much! in VB is it like often or like once in a while if your lucky ?

  • except during peak tourist season, the beaches are relatively empty.

  • last time i was there, i saw a rolls royce phantom and plenty of bmws and mercedes - and someone i knew had two vintage mercedes from the 1930s. va beach's traditional wealthy district is the "north end" and in general, the northern portion of the city (north of 264).

  • yay im going there 2moro!!

  • enjoy. I'll be back there on Tuesday, stop by for a cold one.

  • I love Virginia Beach

  • 757

  • Been a fan of Robbin's since the mid 70's, his earlier version of Sweet Va Breeze is the best. And then, Candy Apple Red, and Bright Eyes were the cruising songs of the late 70's.... that's when we were allowed to cruise at the beach !!! Anyways, great video, but having all of it shot from the new Cavalier throught the sliding glass window makes the content of the video kind of poor..... get out and do some REAL videoing of Virginia and Virginia Beach !!!! My Home !!!!!

  • Check my channel, I have several of Virginia Beach since I live here. I was at the Cav for a wedding. I am in the Outer Banks this week drinking beer, golfing and taking video.

  • thats my city OWNED

  • Virginia Beach 4ever!!!! Go Virginia!!!

  • interesting city

  • virginia beach rocks!!!

  • Always loved this song, I agree it should be OUR STATE SONG con't think of any thing that can beat it...

  • omg! good idea!!

  • I had a lot of fun there until the jellyfish swarmed me in the water. T.T

  • Ahhh, the Boathouse at Bessie's Place. I think Robbin Thompson played at the Norfolk Zoo for some FM99 thing with Mike Arlo. Of course that was back in the K-94 vs FM99 days.

  • I saw Robbin Thompson for the first time in January 1989 at The Boathouse in Norfolk, VA. Also appearing were The Waxing Poetics & States. The show was entitled A King's Head Inn Tribute. That was a club by Old Dominion University. It was going to temporarily close for remodeling & renovation, but would eventually reopen. I have the Anthology album.
