At first, I thought not many people who think of the bass as more than just a background instument, but I can see now that there are many others who thinks so, too. Thanks for the videos.
I'm trying hard to do the same slap example that u're doin', but I couldn't realize if u were playing C and G, for four times, and later, D and A at 4:50 ...
words your speech is shuffled?????....I understand everything he is saying and love his speech!!!...please dont put subtitles, that guy complaining should pay attention!
MARLOWEDK, you always inspire me to play more, every time i am bored and stuck in a rut you have some new great instruction video, thanks for this one, i cant wait to till Friday to practice this baseline....your videos are the best at explaining everything including going slow so that us beginners get a good solid idea.

I just thought I'd let you know that I have been watching your bass lessons, and bass lines for a couple of years now and I really appreciate you posting these videos for everyone to see. They make an amazing learning tool, and they really helped me out in my early learning stages of bass. You're much appreciated!! :D

Very helpfull video, also the reference to the muting in fingerstyle playing. And indeed, your accent has definately improved since your first videos!
stop complaining folks... You know you have learned a lot from this man as have I. pause or rewind... if you didn't get it. damn it's "gimme, gimme, gimme." anyway,
Thanks MarloweDK. You have been a god send to my improvement.
I love doing the slap...however, I don't utilize it much because on stage I can's seem to get the right sound...I do use a compressor..The "pop" is usually ok but playing with my thumb doesn't seem to work onstage. It is OK becasuse we do mostly classic rock...
Sometimes is dificult to understand what you say, your english is very good but some words your speech is shuffled,, maybe subtitles in videos will be perfect.
@MarloweDK actually, when I watched this video I noticed an imrovment in your pronunciation. I think your English has gotten more natural since a year or so ago. Just out of curiosity, do you find learning an instrument similar to learning a language?
@morrissteven Thanks:-) Yes I sort of compare learning to improvise to learning a language. You start with words (phrases , licks) and get better at putting sentences (solos, fills, basslines) together
Sorry bout the typo in the comment.

For those have difficulty:
At first, I thought "I will NEVER be able to do this!"
I'm very new to slap bass, and I thought I wouldn't be able to do it
BUT, for around two days I remembered the notes and rhythm, and now I can just about do it :]
Just stay positive, and start of REALLY slow

Hell yeah dude! Nice Pulp Fiction shirt. It'd be even better if Samuel L. had a little speech bubble that said, "mothafucka".
