@drake4life1 ye but he only got as badly hurt as he was cos he played around too much with him, before noitra went into his released state kenpachi was raping him and it wasnt until about 3/4 of the way into the fight kenpachi got serious and even then he wasnt exactly using full strength, he was still holdin back without his eye patch... sorry if its all slightly wrong im gay for kenpachi and havent watched the episode in months :P

y know what is interesting? when ichigo arrives to hueco mundo his ass was kicked by ulquoira next day alfter he was healed by inue and fight grimjow however he could handle his mask a lot longer then he could while fighting ulquiora.. well next after few hours he fight ulquoira again and he could use hollow mask freely well however that's not enought to defeat ulquoira (spoiler) so after ulq kicked his ass, he becomes probably the strongest hollow possible, he got a lot stronger in one day,,,

well, if you explored ichigo further, you would notice that ichigo's strength isn't from his mask or his bankai, it comes from his willpower. if he wants to win, he will win, and orihime calling to him in the middle of the fight was the spark that gave him the extra strength to do that. it's like orihime's power. she isn't strong naturally, but the more certain her heart is, the more powerful her fairy-thingies get.

i acknowledge he needs his hollow and zangetsu, but he had no chance if he didn't have the desire to win. when he had the confidence, it gave him an unbelievably big boost in strength and power, which is just what his willpower legacy is about. it's usually called his resolve.

i didn't say it was orihime's willpower. when she called to him not to die, that was ichigo's spark to an increase in willpower.
