Freudian and Jungian psychiatry is utterly discredited and even the academics no longer give it much credence.

But...many people do see therapists, counsellors, etc. Some of these are probably technically "psychiatrists", but it's more a process of listening and working through depression than classic psychiatry...oedipus complex, repressed memories, sexual inhibation as the root of all psychosis, etc.
