  • Johnny didn't OD people....

  • @CupcakesPunkDiva well he kind of did od. or then somebody just murdered him, nobody really knows

  • It doesn't pay to try all the smart boys know why

It doesn't mean I didn't try I'll just never know why

It isn't 'cause I'm all alone Oh, baby, you're not home

And when I'm home Big deal, I'm still alone

It's so restless, I am, Beat my head against a pole

Try to knock some sense, down 'side my bones

And even though it don't show, Those guys are so old

You can't put your arms around a memory

    Don't try, don't try

  • sad im gonna lose a bass player and great friend to the same drug... F*ck Heroin.

  • This is more so the New York Dolls, than the team of Johansen and Sylvain, who prance around releasing shit like "Dance Like a Monkey" that uses the name now.

  • @megafaded69 you are right about that. still i kind of liked the first record of the "new" dolls but the other two after it were nicely said quite mellow

  • God I HATE heroin, it takes them all away. Johnny Thunders was one of the most prolific guitarists ever. Yeah he wasn't technically one of the best, but he played with the soul that most people wish they had. Whoever recorded this, thank you. Where ever you are Johnny we all miss you.

  • @Niggro07 I'm acording with you :( ♥ F*ck drougs, But johnny thunders & Jerry Nolan they always be in my heart

  • @Niggro07 ... it's just a shame that he didn't hate heroin also. Unfortunately Heroin and music have a long association of working quite prolifically together... I can think of many artists who have come off the gear only to turn into bland pop music husks of their former selves... It's sad

  • We all love you johnny!!!!

  • just brilliant... such a powerfull song, love ya johnny RIP...

  • Is this from The Roxy Theatre, LA ?

  • @PeterVonRock yup.

  • Godfather of Punk Rock from NYC. What I would give to have seen him perform live. Thanks so much for posting this gem.

  • Amazing - and justice be made, thanks to the Guns´n´Roses & Spaghetti Incident I know that a song like this one exists.

  • just briliant !

  • Johnny was a pal. First met when the Dolls played in SF in '73. Then saw him around London in '77-great times. Saw him back in SF in late '78. We hung out for a while and did a show together when I was in a punk band called The Liars/Sudden Fun.

Last saw him in NYC at the Marquee not long before he died...

I hate white powders and hard drugs. Takes away all of the cool guys...
