  • I guess touring was where the money was and she did want lots of money, but I think in the process she really hurt her voice. People are bound to age, but listen to Streisand live. She didn't do a gazillion concerts in the 80s, pushing her voice to the max. Diana took it to the brink. But in the end, she has aged better - in every way, looks-voice - than Whitney Houston!

  • If they Ever decided to make a statue that depicts Diana's Most Famous Pose. It SHOULD be the pose at 07:41-2. should be her Signiture Pose. I used to own a pic(It was 1967 with Diana in the middle with Mary and Cindy on each side. I was 11yrs old. What struck my attention was Diana's Reach for the Sky pose LoL. she Owns that pose. but in actually all three Diana Mary and Flo used to all hold their arms up at End of songs but to this day Diana still keeps the Supremes pose tradition..

  • i love the " dirty diana" intro

  • I've never understood why English people like "Chain Reaction" so much. It's a really terrible song. Almost as bad as Mr. Lee.

  • @pnyc1969 Because it sounds like the old days. Like when she was with the supremes.

  • @kplife2001 That makes sense because in her recent concerts she's replaced it with another old-sounding song that actually really is old--"More than Yesterday".

  • @pnyc1969 WHAT????? Please that is sooooo not true!!

  • @Unutilized72 What isn't true?

  • @pnyc1969 that you think Chain Reaction is a terrible song!

  • & 20+ years later diane is doing 5K seat venues after her USA tour was extended. how did she allow herself to become an oldies but goodies act like the Chilites or Al Green? guess that's what happens to a superstar who hasn't released a hit record in more than 25 yrs.

  • i love the begining

    long live the king

  • I can't believe there all these boo-hooing comments in reference to the "smaller-sized" venues Miss Ross has been playing on her recent U.S. tours and how it's "rather sad to see that happen to her." Actually, when a big star like Miss Ross decides to play at such venues w/ capacity of somewhere around 2,500+/-this is actually a very s smart move. Just look at our economy! It would be foolish for her to play stadiums. At least her shows @ such venues sell out, and her tours do profit!

  • So why are the "THE OTHER 2- Who were to be the Supreme's upset- ? I thought Diana said she was fair with them ? It was called DIANA ROSS & THE SUPREME'S.

    I will agree money should not be the issue , and Diana preaching ,poster child for equality should be fair, but again im confused:}

  • i love her she is amazing

  • oh come on... she doesn't sound bad at all for a live performance. Lionel Richie gave a gift to her when he did this song for her. (Missing you ) wasn't this the last time she did HBO? soon after this her audiences got smaller and she was no longer doing the over 15K seat venues.

  • Unfortunately, her new upcoming tour is just playing little theatres. It's sad to think how small her audience has gotten.

  • Is it in the USA?? she's been touring around the world for the last 2-3 yrs very often with large venues outside of the USA. & it's been 2-3 yrs since she released her I Love You cd. If she wants to fill stadiums again in the USA she needs to do a supremes reunion tour ( a real one.)

  • Yes, it's in North America only and it's just little theatres. For instance in Chicago, she's going to the Chicago Theatre which only holds 3,600. You're right, if she ever wants to play stadiums (or 20,000 arenas) again, she better do that reunion tour. Unfortunately she's too hardheaded and cheap to give Mary & Cindy the credit and money they deserve. That horrible flop "reunion" tour in 2000 proved Mary & Cindy WERE important.

  • This tour really marked the "before and after". It's the first time we see evidence of the sometimes great-sometimes shrill singing she did all through the 90s and this decade. The opening, identical to the 1981 L.A. TV special, says it all. Just 8 years earlier she was a fireball. So full of energy, power and passion. Here, she really looks like she needs a nap. And with 2 babies under 2 years old, she probably did. It's amazing, tho, how she hits "Missing" perfectly and then kills "Endless".

  • I would like to see any of you run from the back of the auditorium in high heels, holding a shawl, & a mic, then try not to fall, and then sing on key.....!!!! She is on key to me, for running and all!!!

  • Her voice is not good during this world tour. It's amazing how they could release a hole album from this concert. Even if you have a cold or having other vocal problemes - a good performer can still control the voice and sing with energy! She's off key, off tempo and hardly trying to sing. "Missing you" is an exception - her voice is great on that song... strange...

  • You're right - her voice isn't good on this tour at all. She did so much better at the Central Park and Ceasar's Palace concerts.

  • You're both right. Her voice isn't that good!

But also Diana Ross gets older and so does her voice. But she was great in the early 90s again. And she looked great then. Better than in the late 80s.

But she did good here I think

  • @chrissi2810 she shouldn't do this 1989 tour! her voice was very tired and fragile. After two newborn babies and a new album that went nowhere, why a tour like this? She returned really strong in 1991 again!

  • This was an obvious attempt to recreate the show that she did at The Forum... but it's just not as magical.

  • "Missing you", sung with power, passion and excellence!!! loved it

  • "Missing You" was great.

  • Thanks so much for posting this again! :)
