My little brother was only 2 years old when our daddy died. Since very little he has been like our dad, he speaks, walks, thinks the same way as he did and now at the age of 15 he also looks like him a lot. My dad died, June 28 2011. He was fighting brain cancer for about 2 years. The doctors told him that he had 3 months and passed away within one. It was the most heart breaking and devastating thing that has ever happened in my life. My dad is still alive, however, everytime i see him, i see him getting older. It causes me unease. I am the youngest, i am 24, he is 68. Big age difference right?. @cheygal10 It gets easier over time, it's still extremely hard to do things without him and i know exactly what you're going through, Daddy died 1-1-11. It was the hardest thing in the world and it's still really hard because so much has changed since he's been gone. Just live by what you know what will make him proud.

I love my dad! He hasn't passed yet (and hopefully won't for a while), but I've since moved out and only see him maybe once a year. I've noticed since being on my own, how much of my father I see in myself, and how much more is there if I let it. He is a good man and I'd be lucky to a tenth the man he is! :D

I lost my dad earlier this year to stage 4 bladder cancer...on Jan. 13, 2011. I miss him so much. Like others have said, not a day goes by I dont think of him. He'll never get to meet the woman of my dreams..I finally found...He is truly missed.

At 25 I see myself turning into my father. And it now makes me proud, but had you told me that when I was 18 I would have said "no way, I don't want to be like my dad" But he wasn't mean, he cared and still does. He wanted me to become what I am today. Of course I didn't want to hear his wisdom when I thought I knew it all. Hes becoming more of a friend the older I get, and I'm proud to be his son. Keith wasn't even going to record this song but Mike Dongan (head of Capitol - Keith's record label) heard him perform it live and insisted he record it. Keith rarely to never performs this song live. I've personally never heard it live. But Keith has a lot of love and respect for his dad Bob who gave him a love of country music. My dad passed aways June 30 2008. It hurts more then anything and i didnt think i could go on. But my dad is in my heart. We did everything together went fishing huntin. and riding horses. i stoped doing it all for a long time. But i know he would want me to keep doing them things and think of all the good times. Its hard and will always hurt but in time it will get easier.

For those who lost their fathers, I offer my deepest condolence. My father is still alive and well (thank god). I never used to appreciate the things he did. But recently, I went through a uni crisis. and he stuck by my side and didnt even yell at me (which i thought he would've). I love my dad alot. even though our father and son relationship only picked up recently. And all those who misses their fathers. My dad died, June 28 2011. He was fighting brain cancer for about 2 years. The doctors told him that he had 3 months and passed away within one. It was the most heart breaking and devastating thing that has ever happened in my life. My dad is still alive, however, everytime i see him, i see him getting older. It causes me unease. I am the youngest, i am 24, he is 68. Big age difference right?. It was the hardest thing in the world and it's still really hard because so much has changed since he's been gone. Just live by what you know what will make him proud.

When I read the comments I feel happy to share my thoughts and lost. I too lost my Dad six years ago. His memories lingers everywhere I go.. I am happy when I saw many comments who gracefully honored their Fathers with pride like I always did. My Father was (is) my superhero, the man I first fall in love with.

My dad died unexpectedly on the 29th may. last i saw him was 2 years ago becuase he lived so far from me-6000 miles away. I took him for granted a little and i kinda thought i would always have him....im only 11 so i have not known him for very long. I wish him the best and all your loved ones in heaven

i relate to this song so much this is the first time ive ever heard it and all i can do is smile because its so true. i lost my dad april 12, 2005 i was 11. and everyday since then ive notced my becoming more and more like him by the way i talk, walk, kinds of music and same interests. and especially how whenever i get down on life i can hear his voice sayin to keep my head and push through everythings gonna be ok. great song really hits heart

This is such an amazing song. I would love to dedicate this song to my dad. He died on March 16, 2011. Even though he is gone, but I know that his spirit is still with me like a guardian angel. Watching over me and my family. I miss and love my dad a lot. My sympathy to everyone that lost their dad.

I lost my Dad Feb 18 2011 I got the call feb 13 flew down and spent his last days at his bed side. The only thing I regret is that he never got to see my son play ball. They were getting ready to move back home at the end of May My Dad was so happy that he was going to see him play. My son came to me and told me I am playing this year for Grandpa. Dad I know you are watching he has already thrown a no hitter and is 4-0 as the starting pitcher. Dad you would be very proud of him. Thanks Dad

I lost my dad earlier this year to stage 4 bladder cancer...on Jan. 13, 2011. I miss him so much. Like others have said, not a day goes by I dont think of him. He'll never get to meet the woman of my dreams..I finally found...He is truly missed.

My father is dying, painfully, and i feel helpless. These lyrics are so true, even though i always said "I will never be like my dad" l can say i'm glad i have. He's a good man and like a previous post said, don't take your parents for granted. Times short and now i am losing one of the most meaningful people in my life. Let God carry you to a better place, you did your job, and well.

My Dad passed away on June 10th, 2010 . He had complications with his Kidney transplant and he was in people magazine for one of the longest Kidney donor chains in the world.I am so proud of you Daddy.

I havent lost my dad, but my Dad isnt really around anymore. When my parents split up our relationship never really recovered. He is my hero, my everything, and I love him so much. And I miss having him in my life.
