At this point a bullet to the brain might be a good idea, i got a nice infention built up in my gums right under tooth and its pretty swelled, this sucks its hard to sleep and i know theyre going have to probally cut the tooth out and last time i went in to have my upper plate pulled because my teeth are just bad, and i had a really bad reaction to the sedation and i was wondering what else can they use instead of diazapam? i dont like that shit

ok so since i wrote that what came out was a grayish blood looking substance im not sure if that was puss it seemed to build up over the coarse of 45 min to intense pain then biting the bullet and eating the pain i would drain 4 or 5 times it stopped since then it hasnt hurt but if i bite hard i can feel it so u do think i should still care ... i have 26 antibiotics left should i just take them all as prescribed the rest of the 40 i have left...and if u want i can show a picture

now my question is when i pricked it with the needle i did so on inside by tongue where the bumped out part is not on front where it is blackish but not bumped.... after pressure i felt the pin pop thru my skin so i pulled it out prolly went in no more then a millimeter and i saw a dot of blood come out... does that mean wrong spot or i just didnt go deep enough? my mouth kills im positive its infected

hi..im in lots of pain 4th time this keeps returning and they just give me same stuff... anyhow i tryed to drain it myself its my bottom jaw vampire tooth 3rd or so to my right..(the 2 tooth where i believe the abcess is are in a sort of upside down "V" so there a gap at the root between the 2 ... in the gap on front its black ish....lots of swelling on my jaw and cheek there but on the back is where it feels wierd kinds like its bumped out slightly and its a bit whiteish so i believe puss

@DigiBullet23 - you have a chronic abscess. this is not going to go away. with the presence of swelling, the infection is spreading. this is a serious issue that needs to be treated with antibiotics and a root canal or extracted tooth. get to a dentist soon to have this fixed. all this talk of popping the abscess only relieves a symptom but doesnt treat the problem

Many years ago when I was a child, warm water with salt was used.

Now I use colloidal silver as an anti-biotic germ killer.

Also brush with baking soda w/spot of toothpaste.

Stay away from fluoride if you can, Read the toothpaste label.

I'm scare to pop it, but my appointment is until July 6. I brush my teeth regularly and have never had a cavity, I mouthwash regularly and have try the saltwater thing, it still won't go away.

@Roy1962 You should have gotten some pain meds as well. You need to be on the antibiotics for approx 48-72 hrs then return to the dentist for definitive treatment. Another option is to request an Incision and Drainage (I&D). The difficult part is numbing up the area because of the infection. But once numb the dentist makes a small incision and places a drain that is sutured in place. Trust me, patients feel 100% better after an I&D + antibiotics + pain meds.

To use oil of cloves or eugenol put it on a cotton pad and hold on the abcess or painful tooth. This will dull the pain. Eugenol can also be used on a dry socket after an extraction. :)

Dental abcesses are painful like any other infection on your body.

I had a white bump on my arm and until i lanced it with needle, the pain went away!

I dont know what causes the pain from infection, but it does hurt!! Ouch!

I called up my dentist and told him I need to come in and get my top right wisdom tooth pulled cuz it broke and is painfull. so he said ok lets get you in asap.

I went to the appointment he looked into my mouth and said yep you got to pull that tooth and then took a exray. I then had to pay 40 bucks and book another appointment to get the tooth pulled. that cost 80

placing a tea bag between your gum and cheek can also help drain out an abscess. another way is by making a paste of baking soda and salt and taking a dipping a cotton ball in it and placing it by the abscess and leaving it there.

I agree with this. In the UK all dentists used to be on the NHS.

I remember about 6 months after they changed the law to make them private and my dentist of 20 years was driving an aston martin and I couldnt afford him as a dentist anymore.

Good luck to them and all that, but it is a bit obscene. Ive seen how people suffer with their teeth, unable to do anything about it because the dentist charges 70 quid just to have a look fro 10 minutes.

I have heard that, and have even tried to use the oil but no directions come on the bottle. Next time you encountered the Indian lady ask if you are supposed to pour the oil in your mouth and hold it for 20 minutes? Put it on a cotton ball? What are you supposed to do with it?  I suspect if you swallow it you will become very ill. However you put it on, the effect lasts about 10 minutes. It is difficult stuff to keep in your mouth while not getting it on mucous membranes or lips.

i poped the last one i had because i was feeling ill from it, orrible it might of been, but i felt better, the first one i had was cracked filling and my face swelled up, i've never felt so much pain, i ran into the denists.

if you get one, get to the denist ASAP,don't wait, beg if you have to, to be seen, left, it can kill you, no kidding.

I had an abcessed tooth and it hurt like heck. Well first it was like a little discomfort. Then as time went on it hurt more and more. Then I had some food and i chewed it on my cavatie (abcessed tooth) and it starting to hurt like heck. The pain got worse. Went to the dentist dosed me up. ad to take Coated tylenol, and antibiotics. Yuck. And i threw up like 9 times that night. When they pulled ot out it was like the heaven was talking to me. But the tooth was huge.

That's not true.  The lack of flossing is what causes an abcess. Not brushing will definately fuck your teeth up though.

You can brush and floss all the recommended times daily and still wind up with an abcess. There are other factors at play besides oral hygine. Good oral hygine certianly isn't discouraged, but it's not the only factor in whether someone develops an abcess.

Or you can go to a really good herbal store or Oriental medicine store & buy something called Thunderbolt (or anything they recommend) . Plaster a big bunch of it on a postage stamp size piece of gauze; lay it on your tooth & go 2 bed with a drool towel! Do this several times a day (so much for Sat at the mall) & the infection will go away in just a few days. Hey, plants r good! Herbs are wonderful. Cheap too.
