One more point I'd like to make is that beatdown is just another subgenre of hardcore, with it's own style and lyrics. Such as the mathcoregenre. They are not politically oriented, and are musically totally different than the roots, hardcore punk. But if you don't like it, don't listen to it. There are still enough hardcore punk bands and other stuff to enjoy... Anyway, my two cents.

Yes, they have a big fuck you attitude. But it has a parallel with hiphop, and as for me, I like the hiphop ATTITUDE, but I don't take it seriously. And I don't think those bands take it seriously either.... Anyhow, I like beatdown (because it is fucking agressive), but I also think openmindedness is very important.
