Bette Davis claimed that William Wyler was the great Love of Her Life. Directed Bette in Jezebel, The Little Foxes and The Letter. Wyler and Davis had argued. a letter arrived from Wyler, Bette refused to read it. Weeks later she did. In the letter Wyler stated he was about to marry his beloved Talli but would not if Bette firmly committed to their relationship. Davis reading the letter lost the great love of her Life. Bette said that she thought of Wyler every day of the rest of her life.
