That's devastating! I have had so much luggage destroyed by airlines that I just buy cheap luggage now. They have no regard for anyone's property and they throw, yank, push and drag and squash everything!

Is that covered from your travel insurance? Airport handlers don't care, they probably doing it deliberately. To annoy show-off passengers like you (no offence). While big celebrities, have big tips to hand it to the handlers.

I've had the same problem with my handle on my pegase! I think its from the belt that carries the bag in and out of the airplane!

Yeah, even checking REGULAR, PLAIN luggage is a disaster! I went on a trip to New York and they completely broke the frame of my luggage and ripped a terrible hole in the material. It was severely upsetting that they handle luggage so carelessly - it's rude and disrespectful of them to handle one's items without care and it's something I think the airlines/airports need to take care of.
