i love my 03 F7 beats anything around where i live and most people have newer sleds and mines stock. only sled that has a chance are the new 800 ski-doo's but i can still beat them in the woods or field/lakes so its all good.
@xXThajuiceXx HAHAHA thats pretty funny cuz after doing some digging around and being a snowmobile guy myself i know that an 800 xcr will beat an F7 9 outta 10 times. Its one of the fasters stock sleds ever made. One of the new F11 or M1000 well that would def beat it but thats pretty much it. So either know what the hell your talking about or shut up. Polaris trash my ass!!!!;)lol
@RedLineNine I bet my ski doo 800 factory mod would put both those things to shame an 800 in a 440 frame ahh yeah i hit about 115 today across my field i could have gotten more but i ran out of room
@RedLineNine Thats funny because I ride my sled to the drags and The official said I could run agaisnt one for fun and i ate and fucking apex 1000 alive I hit 87 on the small strip and he only hit 79 we had clocks we run the drags right here and so you sir are so totally wrong
@Jerryk1984 man iv had my sled beattin 8 and 900s there was nuthin rong with the f6 but i beat the f6 wen i brought my sled back down to stock the only thing it has now is a mbrp rae can im thinkin about an cold air intake or buthin insted of my airbox and maybe a clutch but thats it
@Hatecrew4l1f3 Something is wrong with the F6 then. I have the same sled and an 03 Classic and my dad and brother both have F6's 05 and 06 reverse models. All of us have similar miles on rip saw tracks with 144 studs. I'm one jet down and they are both stock on their efi. If I ever come close it's because they have a clutch problem or exhaust sensor problem. My brother had an 04 F5 we were side by side till he figured out his exhaust temp sensor was junk. Then he kicked my ass.
HAHAH all u guys KNOW notin 2003 was the year for the F7 mine can out RUN any 900 out there but yah i im a POLARIS GUY i own 03 F7 08 Iq 700 09 Dragon 800 so i know wats up
dude you can totally tell that F7 is losing a lot of speed due to a shit track.. u can see how it wobbles and has a huge trail of snow behind it.. I have an 06 F7 and it burns 800's a lot.. fix your cat and then see whats good
Duh!!!! Maye the clutching, gearing, and rider weight had something to do with it. The XC rider may have a better track or studs as well. Boy, you're a real awesome guy because you are way smarter than a certified arctic cat mechanic that own a 2003 F7 sno pro. Your not as cool as you think you are asshole, be a man and admit it. Xoxoxoxo
@Trevorp588 That's great if you're a certified Arctic Cat mechanic = you have great job security because those crap buckets are ALWAYS breaking down. Also, it's not a good idea to get into an Intellectual pissing match by comparing a mechanic cert to an Engineering Degree, but if you want to go there you will discover my unit is bigger than yours. I WIN.
@munden25 Tuning, suspension set up , gearing and hp not to mention rider skills all factor in on who will get the better times. Under different snow and temp conditions it may have been a different race. But we are all out there for fun. I own an F7 and it is hard to beat, but sometimes it just doesnt hook up the same and a guy I beat last week wins. At least with an F7 there is very little chance anything smaller will beat you. And you can hang in with bigger ones and sometimes beat them.
@PugilistRic Thats funny my 98 ZRT 600 full mod eats F-7s ALIVE. Thats why the ZRT 600 is the FASTEST small displacement sled EVER MADE!!!!!!!!!! actually holds a record!!! that no shitty twin will ever touch!!! and yes something is wrong with that f7 its called diamond drive.
@CatTripleOrNothing I guess i should have mentioned my sled was an 03 and its chain drive. Glad to hear your not racing dead sleds. There are a few guys arround with ZRT. Nice sleds in their day. The new 2012 Cat sleds look like they are taking over again. My 03 was their last good sled till this year. Going to pick one up next year. Still keepin the F7 cause I like beating new sleds with a dinosaour.
@PugilistRick F-7 2003 a dinosaur????? what the hell century are u livin in??? try 1998 for a dinosaur a triple at that. F-7 are nice trail sleds but simply CANNOT compete with a triple if its set up right. PERIOD
Duhhh! the polarass is 100cc bigger; thats a huge difference in any engine. Might as well race a 125 two-stroke dirtbike against a 250 two stroke. I wonder whos gonna win? Nice job jackass. I guarantee a arctic cat 800 would put that piece of crap xc to shame. Kiss my ass! Im out!
@Trevorp588 You know what else makes a huge difference...Horsepower, which the F7 Has 20 MORE! But I guess I wouldn't expect someone like you to know that.
And the result you see here will always be the same if you take a STOCK F7 vs STOCK XC 800. I have a 2002 XC 800, drag raced so many F7, and never one won against me, until they put the liuttle electronic box in it... NEVER. I I drag raced against all year F7 and the result is always the same, the XC always WIN, STOCK vs STOCK.
@fvignola correction the 800 have 130-135hp the F7 has 135-140hp and this is wierd many people think (not you) mr munden25. but Polaris has always been better when it comes to suspension and clutches.
and in this case obvious (in dragrace) the "clutches" are more important then the actual horsepower :D
@DynomiteToby Sorry, but the 800 ProX have these lower HP because of their more restrictive pipe and air box !!! The XC is different.
According Americain Snowmobiler, the 2002 XC 800 is at 140.2HP, the F7 is at 140.1 HP. Same Companie, same Dyno. You can't go wrong here... (Must subscribe to see the graph result of these dyno test)
And I know it, like I said, I've raced with so many F7, and STOCK vs STOCK, the results are ALWAYS THE SAME, THE XC WIN.
@fvignola ive bechmarked alot of both these models and there are minimum differences. and we have also dyno tested alot of america made 800 engines who claim that they have 160+ hp as it turns out its only bout 140-145 usually. but last week we benchmarked a really cool looking engine, we actually gave him a free dynotest case we looked inside hes engine and wanted to see how much hp it would deliver :D 600 polaris engine 135hp :D thats good :D
@DynomiteToby Sorry, but the 800 ProX have these lower HP because of their more restrictive pipe and air box !!! The XC is different.

@DynomiteToby And it's not because I'm sold to Polaris, I just baught a new 2011 CFR 1000 last week... I only tell the truth, because I know the truth.
Paople here talk without knwing what they are talking about. Take a F7 Stock and a XC stock, test it, and after, you will be able to talk about which one is faster.
And the result you see here will always be the same if you take a STOCK F7 vs STOCK XC 800. I have a 2002 XC 800, drag raced so many F7, and never one won against me, until they put the little electronic box in it... NEVER. I drag raced against all year F7 and the result is always the same, the XC always WIN, STOCK vs STOCK.
@atomicstew In fact, the engine size is not so important... The HP are... And sorry, but like the guys who speak about the F7, your statement is wrong. Two of my friend have SRX and it's really close, but more often, I win with my XC. XC on the launch, SRX is a little faster in the middle, but on top speed, it's about equal. XC have 140.1 HP, and the SRX have 142 HP, always according Am Snow. And PS, the SRX is heavier, so, on hard packed, the SRX is close, anywhere else, it is behind the XC.
@36crazyfists63 it comes stock with 150hp and trust me if he rebuilds the top end itll push 125 but right now with 4000 miles he's still doing an easy 115
@Trevorp588 a Polaris would own a Arctic Cat ski-doo and Yamaha any day. my 600 rmk could own that piece of shit prbly. Polaris will always be at the top.
@Stepanskiy23 go with the skidoo trust me they are more fun to ride they have perfect weight balance and they are way more reliable im selling my arcticat for a skidoo i love my friends rev and i think its dumb how all the other companys like arcticat are trying to copy the new rev skidoo started the forward seating style
@Stepanskiy23 It is NOT possible to accurately answer the question you've provided. Things that need to be taken into consideration: mileage, condition, extras, riding style, color preference, studs, etc... If sleds are similar in all areas, I would go with the Sno Pro, because it has more extras, but if the Doo were an X package, then it would be the other way around...
@nachos1990 I look at the comments and it seems everyone wants to claim they are faster than an F7. I have an 03 F7snopro and under most conditions I am the faster sled. I live in the Canadian sheild and its more important to get from corner to corner and soak up bumps than to go fast on a flat straight. In snow conditions where there is 4 or more inces of fresh powder nothing has come close to my sled. On hard packed lake I get the lead but have been run down by big displacement sleds.
The 02 Polaris has VES and is kicking out a good 140hp, the 05 F7's were tuned down a bit from the 03 F7's that were around the 140 mark. So its not surprising the Polaris pulled that Cat. The 100cc more = more torque as well.
Pussy cats suck, they cant make shit for a sled.

On hard packed lake I get the lead but have been run down by big displacement sleds.

is that cat stock?? i know the polaris is not.

The 02 Polaris has VES and is kicking out a good 140hp, the 05 F7's were tuned down a bit from the 03 F7's that were around the 140 mark. So its not surprising the Polaris pulled that Cat. The 100cc more = more torque as well.

Kinda yeah lol because almost every Cat I see has some mod done to it but I don't think that one does...

This comment has received too many negative votes show

cats track probably killed it on the top end. hard to get good top end speeds while spinning an 1.375in. ( i think thats right ) track
Arcticcatfan1892 2 years ago
That track on this cat is a 1.25" Ripsaw.
munden25 2 years ago
@Arcticcatfan1892 no snopros are geard down for more acceleration
Medjoint 1 year ago
@Medjoint doubt it and even so its still hard to get high top speeds with those tracks....
