  • I love your videos! Keep up the good work! I was wondering if the noodles were washed in cold water and oil was added before you put them in the wok?

  • what if i dont have sesame oil??? D:

  • Oh man, I'm going to try this tomorrow. Thanks for the video!

  • Don't mean to make this an akward post but I just had a food orgasm.

  • I had to use spaghetti. I couldn't find any "egg noodle" that looked anything like that. It was either Spaghetti, angel hair or weird italian shape macaroni.

  • Number 1 of all time pointless and boring vegetables: carrots.

I always take them out of recipes.

  • @youboon carrots might be boring but they're also nutritious... by leaving them in recipes you're actually making yourself healthier :D

  • nice recipe.thank you for posting it.I will be trying it tomorrow for dinner (with a couple slight variations to my own taste) :)

  • Nice and simple recipe but next time I make it I will skip the sugar. It turned out too sweet for a lo mein dish and the sugar really ruined it for me. Thanks for the recipe though.

  • @RyanHeartRegina next time just add a teaspoon of sugar instead of a tablespoon

  • wtf chinese cabbbage wars rong with regualar cabbage

  • @freckledcheeks101 regular cabbage compared to the chinese cabbage(nappa) is hard to cook and takes more time but the chinese cabbage is more softer and goes well with this fast cooking recipe :P

  • WHERE THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO GET ALL THESE ASAIN SAUCES

  • @freckledcheeks101 wal mart

  • I love this dish! Thanks for the recipe!

  • Again, when do I add the tbsp of K-9 seasoned beef?

  • @MegaNorthMemphis Uh... ya add the beef when you use a different recipe. It's on here. This is VEGETABLE Lo Mein. It comes in lots of different flavors... like Beef.

  • i get bomb ass lo mein fresh as can be for $5/pint on this place on corner

    no need to make it

  • I am from Pakistan and I have the same exact plate that he has his vegetables in (2:16) at home!

  • @MrVendetta808 Me too!

  • When do I add the 1/3 K-9 sauce?

  • Man now i feel like cooking up so lo mien and eating some while watching kung fun panda! :D :P LMAO xD

  • I JUST MADE IT FOR DINER !!!!!!!!! ONLY I PUT SWEET SOY SAUCE INSTEAD OF SUGAR ~!!!! THANKS ITKMAN

  • strange the chinese resturante I go to, their lo mein looks a little bit browner. Can I cook it a little longer to get that color?

  • @mastercheifslayer300 Soy sauce usually is what gives it the color, just add a little more and it will turn it more brown colored

  • chinese food is the best.

  • Enjoy!!! yes I will!!!!!!

  • question if u dont put in the sugar, will that change the taste of the low mein bc i noticed that u wrote "optional"

  • Man do I love me some Lo mein!

haha, I'm a pesc. so no meat for me ya'll.

Gotta love the chinese food now a days. Anyway, I'm off to Applebee's withmy life partner jackie!

Can you say...2 for 20 chicken tenders basket? Can't beat that deal!

    Peace, Love, and CHICKEN TENDERS!!!

  • SOOOOO YUUMMI!!!!

  • s ve bien rico xo nse lomein

  • what sauce did u say in the last one

  • Thank you for all your videos. they are very helpful.

    For viewers:

I tried this, and it didnt exactly taste like the Mall cafeteria lomein, which i was going for.

I think there's waay too much sugar in your recipe. It made it difficult to eat.

    Konichiwa

  • @Dranamolous You can replace the sauce he made with any store bought stir fry sauce and it will be great. I use Lee Kum Kee Kung Pao sauce and it is spicy and delicious.

  • v=C7kaHYYrWhQ

  • How does his wok heat up so fast!?!?!?!?!

  • @SynysterBaller1341 Magnets, Magic up in this bitch!

  • amazing i have watched all your videos and sir your a genius.. great cooking ;)

  • Not complicated at all. I have to try it.

  • thank you so much my dads girlfriend is a vegetarian and we didn't know how to make this before

  • what's "lo mein"?

  • @jhardknox It's a type of Spaghetti

  • u do great cooking i wanna try some Lo Mein of urs

  • OK, subscribed. I love the technique and the recipes are simply delicious. I tested the General Tso's chicken and it worked well.

  • Respond to this video... The theme music is from the Xbox360 videogame “Alien Hominid HD”

  • Judging by the wok he is using he is not really from china, judging by the lack of spices and garlic he really doesnt have a clue what he is doing. I am pretyy sure there are many different ways to make this dish but i am pretty sure that this is not one of them.

  • @Thecookingfreak Just because he's not using cast iron wok doesn't mean anything. Some people have different cooking styles than others.

  • Enjoyed the Thai classical music in the background there.

  • Super easy

  • OMG i always get that at chinese restaraunts! :P

  • Thats it? it looks so simple

  • thankyou for these video's.

  • OMG its soo good :D

  • where can i buy egg noodles to use for lo mein, and are they expensive? i'm a college student with no cooking knowledge and low on cash lol, please help. im tired of bad dorm food and cup noodleS!

  • @lucirz You don't need egg noodles. You can use thin pastas as a substitute. (Vermicilli...Angel Hair..etc)

You can also substitute a lot of other things used here. Vegetable lo mein is very versatile thankfully, and there are an infinite number of ways to make it. This video is a great start though for someone that hasn't before.Personally, I like to add crushed red peppers to my vegetable lo mein to give it a spicysweet flavor..

  • @lucirz 99 cents at grocery stores

  • @Blovinjack thanks :d this is any grocery store? or only chinese ones?

  • I made this today and it came out very plane tasting, It looked great smelled amayzing but idk what i messed up on maybe il add more surgar or something.

  • that's correct, chinese cooking should be done in a wok or steel pan. no teflon

  • Teflon pans are so bad they give off too many toxic fumes for cooking with high heat like this.

  • pepperf: You rather eat french fries and a double cheeseburger from Mc donalds?

I'm 100% sure it will be worst than this.

  • not talking about the food, I am talking about the teflon pan.

  • Well i'm talking about how Mcdonalds cook their delicious burguers and fries.

  • Are egg noodles vegan? Do they actually contain eggs or is that just in the name?

  • they have eggs in it. You can actually smell the eggs in them when they are boiled.

  • I'm sure you can find a vegan friendly noodle almost exactly like an egg noodle.

  • Wow,Cool I want to try

  • can anyone suggest a brand name of noodles i simply don't know since there are so many kinds.

  • @angijuan probably something like spaghetti or linguine for Lo Mein Noodles.

  • thanks!!

  • head over a local asian market.

  • @angijuan

ramen is good, just don't use the chicken packets

  • thanks!!

  • if i use regular cooking oil instead of sesame oil is that ok?

  • whats the name of the song

  • cool vid. it sounded like something crazy happened at 3:26-3:28. haha. I thought someone was yelling in the hall of my apartment.. haha..

  • Nice. What I like about Chinese cooking is everything can be done quickly. When a lot of these recipes were first created in China cooking fuel was in short supply so you had to finish preparing your meals before the fire went out. That's why most of them are simple and fast.

  • Thank you for the recipe, the demonstration was excellent!

  • Your channel is delicious!

  • real spelling and pronounciation is Lor Mee. lol.

  • actually the way we do it here is we put a huge amount a bowl...and randomly put the ingredients and sauces acording to taste..not by measurements...but hey! its our way in singapore

  • Spaghetti noodles can be used, the difference is Chinese noodles are flat, spaghetti is round. You can get Chinese noodles at any asian grocery store / asian market. USE COOKING WINE INSTEAD OF CHICKEN STOCK TO MAKE IT VEGETARIAN.

  • not all chinese noodles are flat. lol. there are different types.

  • China is a very big country. Saying that there is a real kind of lo mein is like saying that there's a real kind of lasagna or a real kind of marinara sauce.

  • Where's all the snow peas, watercress, broccoli and baby corn?

  • is there a difference between spagetti noodles and mein noodles

  • spagetti noodles works just fine in this :)

  • you can use spaghetti noodles for this recipe but it's not the same as getting lo mein noodles. if you really want to get the same noodles they use in takeout or the restaurants, find an asian market in your area (try chinese, vietnamese or thai) and look for PANCIT NOODLES. Depending on the location, they will sell it dry or fresh in the refrigerator but either is fine since you have to cook both anyways.

  • mann i want some lo mein right now lol

  • have to try this out, looks realy good

  • Comment removed

  • i just made this.i think its missing some ingrediant.salt for sure and something else anythoughts

  • well there's hella salt in the sauces hes uses/

  • I LIKE HOW HE TALKS

  • can this work with spaghetti noodles?

  • Yup, he used spaghetti noodles in one of his other lo mein videos and it looks like he's using spaghetti now.

  • Thanx Kai, I enjoy Lo Mein SO much,

  • Great job!

  • yeah he is pretty darn good, i've made a couple of his recipes with my own tweaks and they were amazing.

  • CHINESE VEGETABLES

  • Thanx SO much for posting, this looks SO good!!! =D

  • 不得不说,这改良版本的还真让人没食欲,大锅烩

  • cool recipe, can you make the sauce less sweet

  • lol less sugar?

  • thanks:) that was a stupid question!!! lol

  • This was easy and taste great, I put my own twist on it but never would have put the sauce together.

  • hey guys I made it and it was terrible!!! It looks easy but it isn't. How much from the noodles? Can anybody tell me? I didn't understand!

And guess next time I won't put the sugar, it was sweet, then I put salt and then other things until it was a mess!!!

    Pls help!!

  • very good!! Fast, easy & good pls continue...!!!

  • looks fantastic

  • LMAO that was random & out of no where.

  • This is a really easy recipe. I did find it a little sweeter then I desire, I think it might be the hoision. I am going to see what I can do to take away thew sweetness, oh I did NOT add the extra sugar...

  • yum

  • i should do this right now! thank you so much chef

  • Wahh those look so good. Next time my mom && i go to BJ's I'm buying tons of fresh vegtables for foods.

  • r u gona eat that

  • mmmmmmmmm!! looks yummy!! thanks for uploading!! I really appreciate it!!!!

  • *drools*

    I love lo mein x_x

  • Yummy! Thank You!

  • man, that looks awesome. how high is the heat for the wok? you have an unlevel stove too! wahooo

  • Heat is one of the secrets in Chinese frying, which this video omits. After you add the oil, wait for the wok (Chinese frying pan) to heat up intensely before dumping anything into it. The green light is that you could see steam/smoke rising up at the brim of the wok, and then it is ready. It will confer a special wok chi/wok qi (intense heat inside the food which gives the food a strong smell and flavor when putting into the mouth, chi/qi in Chinese means something like aura, air or wind).

  • It looks SO good! I can't wait to try it.

  • NICE

  • Any one have a good brand/make of lo mein noodles? - egg noodles from w*mart just dont' taste the same. Same as above for me fen (sometimes me fun)noodles but they are the angel hair size noodles. (not the flat wide ones.

    Thanks for sharing, great video.

  • try tai noodles, those work too!

  • Yummy!! Taste pretty good!!! Tnx for the post!!! =)

  • hehehe i have the same soy sauce!

  • so whats the difference between lo mein and chow mein?

  • Lo mein is made with soft noodles and chow mein is with hard noodles

  • Chow mein is also mainly onions and celery, not noodles, and the sauce is transparent.

  • Nice video!

  • Yummy... I was looking for this type of recipe. Thank you!!

  • dudes!

He's using simple vegetable oil for the frying....

  • yea it is vegetable oil nothin wrong with that considering the oil has like no taste

  • what oil do you use sir? I love your food!!!!

  • the best oil for a wok is peanut oil it has a very high burning point and tastes great !

  • he uses sesame oil...

  • lol, i said Gai. . i meant Kai. . . sorry lol i know your name!! i cant type today!

  • yummy Gai! you always make me soo hungry! oh and thanks for adding a recipe that doesnt have meat. . :P

  • I am always so happy to see a new video from you, excellent recipe!
