  • Dahon>>>all else :)

  • okay so the Brompton lost, but it's still the best bike =)

  • Brompton FTW

  • nice, but only because your apartment is smaller than my refridgerator.

  • I´m also much faster in folding my Brompton. It´s the perfect bike for me. Fast and also comfortable for long rides. I had a Dahon before and this was really poorly developed and ugly slow. I don´t know if it was only this 7-hub-gear which sucked or construction itself. I think both. Also i lost the chain two times a week and no mechanic could find the mistake because the tension was perfect and this is really more than annoying when you have a hub gear.

  • Strida will beat them all in terms of design simplicity and folding procedure :)

    Unique design too :)

  • I have a Dahon (non-tikit), Brompton, Downtube... it's not fair comparing.

Yes the tikit and Dahon fold faster in this video, but the end result is a sloppy fold, but there should be points deducted for a sloppier fold.

However on the other hand, the other two bikes probably ride faster/better than a Brompton.

  • I can fold my Brompton much quicker than that. I have had my bike for a year (riding every day) with no problems. Not the cheapest, but well worth it in my opinion.

  • hmmmm, interesting! have to research tikit now... :-D

  • ブロンプトンの人、遅すぎないか?

  • Dahon daha küçük (ve daha hafif

  • Is pretty much you get what you paied for. But I will get the brompton or bike friday over the dahon anytime.

  • 若干一名フライングがいるよねw

  • Ahhh but... My Downtube Mini folds smaller than the Tikit or Dahon (and shorter, lighter and faster [though thicker and longer] than the Brompton). like the Brompton it has rear suspension. Unlike the other three it has a lot of standard easy-to-find parts. Unlike the Tikit there is no structural cable to flex and break. In traffic. The contruction quality is as good any of these. It cost half of what the Dahon costs...and 1/3 the cost of the other two...with an 8-speed internal hub!!!

  • I think that, best choice for compact packaging and daily use is brompton, and for cost performance is DAHON!

But if you want to ride more long distance or ride more faster, tikit express is good choice!

  • I decided to buy tikit 'cause doesn't need to roose seat-clamp!

  • The way I watch this, it looks like the Tikit is the only one where one doesn't lose one's seat position; is that correct?

  • Comment removed

  • I like my Dahons, but these comments are ludicrous. The mini has *many* more custom parts than the Tikit, which is famous for its standardization. The mini also... doesn't ride like a real bike. The tikit does. As to structural cables: the Tikit's cable is a half centimeter thick. It's *extremely* strong.

  • and the smallest and most usable package for a commuter is...... the brompton

  • I took the leap and ordered a tikit. It should arrive tomorrow!

  • So - what youre saying - is you have to buy all 3. The Tikit is looking more and more appetising.

  • Go by train in holland and you wish you have a brompton cause its the only one which fits between the seats. (yes i own a brompton). The folding of the tikit looks very interesting. The brompton person is not very trained i would say. Dahon is good price value

  • oh yeah, and Dahon wins for price.

  • tikit wins for speed of folding, Brompton wins for compact size.

  • tikit had its handlebar already released - too easy

  • The handlebar was not already released, the Tikit uses a cable system to secure the locking clamp against the handlebar stem. When the seatpost is unlocked and folded forward, the tension on the cable is released, which frees the stem. A very clever system!

  • You don't understand: The hyperfold Tikit does not require a special release knob. Simply folding the rear wheel under releases tension on a cable that allows the handlebar to fold down. That's the innovation in design, and it's the reason the titkit is so fast to fold. Only the "model T" version of the Tikit requires a knob to release the handlebars. Google bike friday tikit for more info.

  • Nope. The tikit's handlebar releases automatically.
