@reido66 Brawl+ is good, but it's still a little slow-paced. I've tried Project M myself, but I think some of the changes they're making to characters are ridiculous. Like replacing Lucas's PK Freeze with Offense Up, and increasing the hitstun of his d-smash, for a maximum 88% damage in one hit. And did you read about what they're doing to Toon Link's moveset? It's incredibly cheap.

I mean, it doesn't happen too often, and when it does, it takes all of one second to get back up. I mean, unbalanced characters? That's a reasonable complaint. Slower, floater physics? @thezebracakes The whole idea of tripping just makes it a party game. Brawl is much much easier to play than melee in the first place. And when you trip, the opponent has a free opportunity to techchase you and punish you severely. Brawl is the worst thing to happen to smash bros

@Broshadian Really, Melee people normaly go on the shortcuts like L-Canceling and Wavedashing, those are like shortcuts but where melee makes it easier, brawl makes it harder.. think about it in Melee you have glitches on your side while brawl you have nothing other then tripping which is annoying but it challenges people how well they can fight with no shortcuts!
@TheTommy10200 brawl sucks, its designed for the players who just want to hide then attack when they have an easy kill. Melee is a challenge if your playing against a human because they have the glitches too. Any good melee player can destroy anyone in brawl, its just too easy. Melee is where you gain respect from winning, brawl is where you lose respect for being the coward to hide and last the longest. There is a reason tripping isn't in melee, if you trip there you lose.
@Sully9492 Brawl challenges players with tripping to see if they can over come any obstacles and to see how harder it takes to be a pro at brawl... melee was pretty much a free way pass to pro status, i mean what obstacles are in melee that arent in brawl? Its like asking yourself how better will you feel if you win in a challening way or winning yet feeling defeated on the inside because more people play brawl then melee and are better at it.

@TheTommy10200 You just countered you're own argument. If more people can play Brawl than Melee that means that it is LESS challenging. Tripping is just one of the many Melee to Brawl changes that was made so that more people would buy it, because it more balances out people who are very skilled with people who are less than average. I'd like to coin the term "skill compensation" for this exact thing, much like the deathstreaks in the newest Call of Duty game.

Melee> Brawl for one simple reason. To lower the power of captain falcon and allow more options by doing so. In melee, there weren't that many options besides fighting people and there wasn't any wi-fi because of the awesomeness. So, brawl had to remove most of this awesomeness to create more options and wi-fi. But the wi-fi sucks because captain falcon's manliness is still too much.

To this day, I still can't imagine why any sane programmer would punish players for no reason at all by making them trip uncontrollably. How could they think it's a good idea? It can't be a glitch. It had to be programmed into the game. It has its own animation. This shit was intentional. It's pure malice.
If that's the case, they could have just increased the amount of knockback after a throw, making it harder to go for additional grabs. Tripping happens anywhere, anytime; not just when chain grabbing lol.

@Heatseaker19 Terrible floaty physics, lack of hitstun therefore lack of combos, broken MK, Autosweet spot ledges. Brawl is too defensive and campy too.It's also terribly balanced and has a fraction of the amount of depth.

U obviously dont know how to play Brawl. MELEE HAD A LACK OF COMBOS. The A, A, A combos were nearly COMPLETELY USELESS. They were all so weak. FRACTION OF THE AMOUTN DEPTH?? dude melee was all about smash, grabs, and arial attacks. In Brawl there are a lot more effective attacks for each character.
@matzoball101 in Brawl stand A attacks sometimes set up and can be followed by stronger attacks. example DK's A+A followed by his side strong. A total of 22 damage I think. Its been quite a while since I played. So I dont exactly remember. In melee standard neutral attacks like that werent nearly as useful.

Brawl is the better game. a lot more depth in combat than Melee. for reason I already mentioned. When I played melee its all about smashes, arial attacks and grabs and sometimes specials. Thats it. All the other moves were useless. so people are continuously rolling around each other and jumpin in combat. Brawl utilizes ALL the characters moves each with its own unique advantage. How can you say it Melee has more depth. I know my brawl pretty well. Its a solid game critisized by cry babies.
@Heatseaker19 Once, again, it's obvious you haven't played competitively simply because you acknowledge that any game is all about anything. While Brawl does have AT's, Melee has plenty more of them and even basic tech skill takes a long time to master and a lifetime to apply. 10 frame buffer window doesn't do anything other than make everything easier to do aside from the few frame traps high tiers have. @Heatseaker19 Melee has Wavedashing, L-Canceling, Dashdancing, Crouch Canceling, SHFFL's for basic tech skill. It's well known community consensus that Brawl has almost no true combos simply because you can cancel out of hitstun. Also, don't tell me how to play. I played competitive Brawl tournaments for about a year in a half until Brawl+, which transitioned me over to Melee. You honestly have no idea what you're talking about.
@louman7777777 Anyway I havent actually played brawl in a while but when I did I was very impressed with everything they improved. Havent played official tournaments but I know for sure I kick ass with Donkey Kong in BOTH games. I also mastered quite a few other characters. I know for sure if you play brawl like you played Melee you wont succeed. Thats the main problem with the people who complain about Brawl. they dont realize that its a completey different game with a different improved style.

I've played other people who were quite serious about the game and liked to edge hog etc. And besides trust me I'd really have to suck not to be very good after all the hours I put into mastering the moves and memorising damage points, learning each attacks strengths and weaknesses and learnin when and how to do them. I havent played in a while but when I did trust me I really knew my stuff.

Furthermore, Bowser may be big, but his moves are relatively quick, and his Fortress OOS is one of the best punishes in the game. It comes out in 6 frames and has 5 frames of invincibility. I have beaten many a person with Bowser, regardless of how much of a shit character he is.

@Sliq111 Smash Bros runs at 60 frames persecond. lol figures but you knowin how many frames it does to do an attack doesnt really mean a lot... I can know how long it takes for a character to do an attack but without knowing the exact amount of frames... its the same thing but unlike other fighting games most characters attack pretty fast in that game so it mostly boils down to who attacks first and the hitboxes. Not who has less frames. You should know especially since you are so good.

I was really into perfectin my skills and learning all the strengths and weakness for each character. I knew how to play the game quite well but after I started using Donkey Kong I even got better.

Well, sporadic character-slipping-on-his-ass is one of the reasons I gave up Brawl and went back to Melee. But here are a couple more:
*CPU characters much harder (level 1 character in Brawl=level 4 character in Melee)
*HOW DO I OPEN THE DARN SMASH BALL?!?! I hit and hit and hit and it still takes a while to open the thing
*The final smash mercy rule. Pretty Smash Bros. equivalent to the Mario Kart blue shell if you think about it.

@Broshadian Really, Melee people normaly go on the shortcuts like L-Canceling and Wavedashing, those are like shortcuts but where melee makes it easier, brawl makes it harder.. think about it in Melee you have glitches on your side while brawl you have nothing other then tripping which is annoying but it challenges people how well they can fight with no shortcuts!

Melee is a challenge if your playing against a human because they have the glitches too. Any good melee player can destroy anyone in brawl, its just too easy. Melee is where you gain respect from winning, brawl is where you lose respect for being the coward to hide and last the longest. There is a reason tripping isn't in melee, if you trip there you lose.

@Sully9492 Brawl challenges players with tripping to see if they can over come any obstacles and to see how harder it takes to be a pro at brawl... melee was pretty much a free way pass to pro status, i mean what obstacles are in melee that arent in brawl? Its like asking yourself how better will you feel if you win in a challening way or winning yet feeling defeated on the inside because more people play brawl then melee and are better at it.

Tripping is just one of the many Melee to Brawl changes that was made so that more people would buy it, because it more balances out people who are very skilled with people who are less than average. Melee> Brawl for one simple reason. To lower the power of captain falcon and allow more options by doing so. In melee, there weren't that many options besides fighting people and there wasn't any wi-fi because of the awesomeness. So, brawl had to remove most of this awesomeness to create more options and wi-fi. But the wi-fi sucks because captain falcon's manliness is still too much.

U obviously dont know how to play Brawl. MELEE HAD A LACK OF COMBOS. The A, A, A combos were nearly COMPLETELY USELESS. They were all so weak. FRACTION OF THE AMOUTN DEPTH?? dude melee was all about smash, grabs, and arial attacks. In Brawl there are a lot more effective attacks for each character.

@matzoball101 in Brawl stand A attacks sometimes set up and can be followed by stronger attacks. example DK's A+A followed by his side strong. A total of 22 damage I think. Its been quite a while since I played. So I dont exactly remember. In melee standard neutral attacks like that werent nearly as useful.

Brawl is the better game. a lot more depth in combat than Melee. for reason I already mentioned. When I played melee its all about smashes, arial attacks and grabs and sometimes specials. Thats it. All the other moves were useless. so people are continuously rolling around each other and jumpin in combat. Brawl utilizes ALL the characters moves each with its own unique advantage. How can you say it Melee has more depth. I know my brawl pretty well. Its a solid game critisized by cry babies.

While Brawl does have AT's, Melee has plenty more of them and even basic tech skill takes a long time to master and a lifetime to apply. 10 frame buffer window doesn't do anything other than make everything easier to do aside from the few frame traps high tiers have. It's well known community consensus that Brawl has almost no true combos simply because you can cancel out of hitstun. Also, don't tell me how to play. I played competitive Brawl tournaments for about a year in a half until Brawl+, which transitioned me over to Melee. You honestly have no idea what you're talking about.

Havent played official tournaments but I know for sure I kick ass with Donkey Kong in BOTH games. I also mastered quite a few other characters. I know for sure if you play brawl like you played Melee you wont succeed. Thats the main problem with the people who complain about Brawl. they dont realize that its a completey different game with a different improved style.

You didn't know this, you don't know what this means, nor do you know why it is important. @Sliq111 lol as I said I spent plenty of time with that game and maybe you thot you were rubbish when you fought other players who are better than you but I doubt I will feel the same because I know I atleast have some skill in that game and that I am not garbage as you keep on sayin I am. lol and about the hit box thing and frames I know exactly what that means but I never you knew you could measure frames on the screen thats bizarre. but how fast it takes to do attacks and the range is basic.

@Heatseaker19 Every tournament player has spent just as much time as you have, AND THEN SOME. Not only that, we are playing the best of the best CONSISTENTLY. We play countless other people, have access to knowledge that you don't (try smashboardsif you want to learn advanced techniques), and have far more experience. Where do you live; what city/state? I'll find a tournament guy to come over and whoop your ass and end this. I'm in Plano, Texas, but I doubt that's anywhere near you.

@Heatseaker19 Dude, you're not getting it. For every hour you have spent playing the game, I have spent an hour playing the game. And I am playing the game against COUNTLESS people with information you have no access too. You have SOME skill, but you will not be able to compete with a seasoned veteran, which is fine. You lack the experience, which is where EVERYONE STARTS AT. Also, a frame is 1/60th of a second, so no, you don't know what I'm talking about. You are completely clueless.

I don't have an inflated ego. If I went to a tournament now I would place poorly. I haven't competed in months. But I do know that I will beat someone with no tournament experience. I acknowledge that I am way worse than a lot of people, and on the other end, I know I am better than a lot of people. Look at my fucking channel. I have HUNDREDS of Melee and Brawl videos. HUNDREDS. And those are just RECORDED TOURNAMENT MATCHES. Go to smashboards, find a tournament near you, and go.

@Sliq111 Anyway I best Wolf. And even tho his recovery isnt the greatest, he is fast and has a wide reach and is fairly strong. I'd really like to see you make me look like "garbage" while playin as him against your big Bowser. lol you mistake me for one of the casual brawl for fun players. lol I played to become the best I could be and even if I am not as good as most tournament players I am still a threat that atleast deserves some respect but you continue to insult my game with your arrogance

@Heatseaker19 You aren't the best Wolf. You have to prove you are the best Wolf, you just can't say it. Secondly, Wolf is mediocre, middle of the tier list. Furthermore, Bowser may be big, but his moves are relatively quick, and his Fortress OOS is one of the best punishes in the game. It comes out in 6 frames and has 5 frames of invincibility. I have beaten many a person with Bowser, regardless of how much of a shit character he is.

But you imply that Wolf is quicker than Bowser, and I retort that Bowser's running speed is actually very good for his size (middle of the pack), and how several of his best moves are fast, countering your argument.
I have played many people, just like you. This isn't arrogance, this is EXPERIENCE.

@Sliq111 Smash Bros runs at 60 frames persecond. lol figures but you knowin how many frames it does to do an attack doesnt really mean a lot... I can know how long it takes for a character to do an attack but without knowing the exact amount of frames... its the same thing but unlike other fighting games most characters attack pretty fast in that game so it mostly boils down to who attacks first and the hitboxes. Not who has less frames. You should know especially since you are so good.

@Heatseaker19 No, knowing the exact number of frames IS IMPORTANT. It let's you know which moves are safe on block, as well as allows you to setup frame traps (google it, because I doubt you know what it is).

Tell me your rough whereabouts (State, near what major city), and I can either find someone I know to fight you (as I've said, I've played with people ACROSS THE COUNTRY, so I know a guy or 2 in every state that plays), OR I can find you a tournament you can go to. Enter the tournaments as Heatseaker 19, and then I'll see the results when they are posted. As I've said, I live in Plano, Texas, but I doubt you live near me. Step up.

@louman7777777 Many times I'd fight the cpu on 9 on battle field without any items and wouldnt die more than once. I was really into perfectin my skills and learning all the strengths and weakness for each character. I knew how to play the game quite well but after I started using Donkey Kong I even got better.
