Everybody who studied the situation in Iraq or has been there agrees: The U.S. troops are spectators in the line of fire of a civil war between shias and sunnies. The surge provided 30.000 more spectators.
How should McCain "win" in Iraq? He isnt even acknowledging the situation on the ground.
And doesnt win mean "the road to peace and democracy is free"?
At the moment the U.S. precense blocks this road, because it weakens the credibility of the Iraqi gouvernment in the eyes of the Iraqi people.
It's just what Barack Obama was trying to say on O'Reilly but O'Reilly kept cutting him off. He said the troops played a large part but he was crediting the Anbar province "Sunni awakening"--which he KNOWS was prior to the so-called "surge". The Sunnis were PAID OFF with U.S. taxpayer dollars. Obama also said that we don't have the political reconciliation we need--and witness today that the Iraqi government and big oil cancelled their no-bid contracts!
Michael Ware has been saying this all along. He is the one reporter who has the goods on what is going on in Iraq. If he says McCain is clueless, believe him.
Michael Ware definitely knows - first hand and unbiased - what he's talking about, and what he's saying is closer to Obama's viewpoint than John "Victory" McCain.
Michael Ware has been on the ground in Iraq for this entire war. I believe him before ANYONE about this war. He has earned our respect. It's never as simple as McCain would have us believe. And he is the ONLY one left insisting that our troops stay in their country. As long as our troops are there, young muslim men will want to kill Americans. Is that really who we want to inspire? Not to mention the nearly $4 billion a week that it is costing us.
Micheal Ware is the shit....when he speaks about Iraq he has first hand knowledge..McCain knows nothing, about what is going on over there. Why doesn't he talk about Bush's troop withdrawl of 8000 troops?
The NEOCONS are clueless from the start and this guy knows his shit.
Best reporter on the ground by far.

Too complex for most Americans to take the time to absorb. This is what the Dem's have been trying to explain for some time.
Much easier to say that our troops will defeat evil across the world.
Easier - and much more dangerous.
