i hope someday they re-boost the movie into a badass one and make it 3D so we can see the blood and gore explosions the way we all want to see it and make the story more to the manga
I have to say I quite enjoyed the live action Fist of the North Star. Sure, it's not great but it was entertaining to watch. I probibly would have been better if a Japanese film company made it.
This sounds "epic". Definitely. Not bombastic like most Hollywood trailers, but definitely epic. Trust me I am a soundtrack fanatic, and listen to it 95% of the time lol :D
Heh, I'm a score geek, too, obviously. :P Listen to 'em a lot while driving. I have Steve Jablonsky's "Gears of War 2" in the CD player, atm. If you haven't heard it yet, just go out and buy it. Pure Genius! Best score I've bought all year, hands down.
Now im hooked on Transformers 1 and 2 scores... The All Spark is my favorite song.. Indeed Steve Jablonsky is a genius and i heard is really close with Hans Zimmer so thats why at first i thought he really influenced by him but they both work together so i guess its normal and i heard Steve can go out of the Zimmer style with this Gears of War score... Yeah good composer.
i just got the 3 part movie and i was dissapointed, it wasnt even widescreen it was full screen with black bars on top and bottom, but the live action wasnt that bad for low budget.
I know the one you mean. It's called "New Fist of the North Star". I didn't care for it, either. The best one was the fist anime movie from 1986. It was a condensing of the anime series/manga and it was phenominal! I think it's out on DVD. I need to get a copy, myself. My VHS tape is a doorstop, these days. LOL As for the HBO movie; yeah, I guess you're right. For what it was, it wasn't THAT bad, but once you see the anime movie, you'll see why I was disappointed. :P
yah i have both the regular movie and the live action but i like some of the fist of the north star movies they didnt release in america you can watch them here on youtube.
Woa! I remember a manga called "Fist of the Blue Sky" that took place before the nuclear event, but I had no idea they'd made it into an anime. Awesome!
Thank you very much. I just have ACID, a Korg Triton and a lot of wavs from things like Advanced Orchestra, Percussive Adventures, Voices of the Apocalypse, etc. I cut and paste them like on a score sheet. It's pretty barbaric, but I'm always broke, so it works for now. :P I'm working at getting a real studio going, so if you wanna message me with some recommendations as to what I should look into that'd be awesome. :D Your advice would be quite valuable to me.
I feel like I'm getting ready to watch someone get their ass kicked when I listen to this....two thumbs way up

Didn't Jablonsky do the recent Transformers themes? Mad skill, that fellow has, yes indeedly. Gotta nab me Gears 2 OST now.
FotNS here, brilliance, very ominous. Rock on.
And you can deny it all you like, Jimmy-boy: You and Gordon Freeman could pass for twins! Wuzzuh!

Yessah, That's the dude. :D I'm really digging his work. Check out his score to Steamboy, too.
Glad you liked my theme. More to come!
And I have never denied my Freeman-esque appearance. LOL He's the only celebrity twin I have. :P
