  • Isr das dir a oder b Klasse ?

  • @ludabaer I will say it is a German innovation as VW have been testing it much longer and debuted a less practical hands-free version in 1990. I believe that this system, Bayerische Motoren Werke's, and Volkswagen's systems are much more efficient than Toyota's slow operation. Toyota only successfully commercialised it in a more modern application and beat them by release date.

  • @ludabaer Toyota & Honda then copied in 2002-03 Nissan by applying reverse cameras to their 2003-2004 models. Mercedes-Benz stuck with their Parktronic innovation, later adding rearview cameras around 2005-06. Most of everything that utilizes a camera in a passenger automobile is mainly Japanese technology. Anything using sensors or radar is European technology. Claiming that this is German technology is partially correct, as they obviously developed their own versions in Germany, not Japan.

  • @ludabaer If anything Japanese automakers should be equally credited for technological advances in anything that utilizes a camera. The Germans & Japanese have both domestically offered ultrasonic park assist since the early-mid 1990s on their high-end models. Without these, such videos would not exist. If anything outside of Japan, Lexus didn't offer ultrasonic until 2000. Benz had been since April 1995 and BMW since 1991(1994 for E38). However, the first reverse camera was by Nissan in 2001.

  • @ludabaer Who told you that's an absolute fact? Most of these technologies are developed by outside companies. Whether they are Japanese, German, Italian, or English innovations is another matter. One could say BMW or Mercedes-Benz invented parking sonar as the E32(1991) and the W140(1995) introduced them to the consumer market, when it is an Italian invention. This feature was first developmentally used by Toyota in the late 90s. However it was introduced by Toyota in 2003 on its JDM Prius.

  • that is small car, pff, that easy, try with full size chevy, Ford, dodge and toyota trucks!

  • Lexus technology..

    Cheers..
