i managed to get the guy at radio shack to let me play with the galaxy nexus and the only thing i can really say right now is that the screen is absolutely amazing.
i have always been an android fan, but i recently got an iphone 4s as my work phone. I have to say its not too bad. IOS does seem better refine and less buggy. BUTTTTT . . . there are things that i just can't put up with. i dont understand how Iphone users say its easier, when adding your own ringtone is a pain. also no out of office setting. no true widgets. and no real customization? I do agree on this vid, a new android device every two weeks sucks. all you need is one good one.
@rushrules1968 I used to have an iphone. I gave it to my kids since it's more of a toy than anything else. I can do sooo much more with my android device.
I think I'll get one. My G1 is slow, and it crashes sometimes, which really sucks when it happens because the bootup time is NOT fast. It's about time for an upgrade - but I'm going to wait a bit for the price to calm down. Seems to be $750 now for this phone which is a bit more than I'd like to pay for a phone.
I Looooooove my Samsung Epic 4G. I've had it for a year and it just keeps getting better. Androids get you free OS updates and the free market for apps allow for competition and more people contributing so you can customize your phone to do what you need it to and don't have to worry about paying for apps that may not suit you (since most are free). My phone updated its OS 2 weeks ago and runs faster than ever. With apps and OS continually improving, a good droid stays on the breaking edge.
I have a htc sensation on T-Mobile, and it is the best phone I have ever had. That may not be saying much since my previous phone was a Nokia flip phone which could barely text, and I could call people and accept calls. That said, I am impressed with the capabilities of my phone, which I am still learning about everyday, so much so that my phone is an integral part of my life. I am hoping that my phone is capable of using the ice cream sandwich OS.
@bradto36 same here i got the phone 3 months ago best phone ever , people bitch about the battery life not lasting thats easy to fix buy a better battery on amazon i have a battery that lasts like 10 and a half hours with heavy use . i use my phone like 24/7
Android is constantly pushing innovation at some level so there will be a ton of them flood the market and you buy what fits you not what it will have are down the road because tech advances to quickly
I'm in the UK and have the galaxy nexus and an iPhone 4. I love apple and their products, especially the iPhone. But since getting the Glaxy Nexus (and not being so won over by other Android phones) and the galaxy nexus is genuinely the best phone I, and many of my nerd friends, have ever used. A couple of months ago I would have been stuggling to believe that I would be saying this, But it really does have the best features of all the operating systems packed in to one beautiful package, with
I picked up the razr as a place holder till the gnex came out honestly very happy with it and think ill keep it, no offense but hate ios ...so wont catch me running around with an iAnything my son has a ipod touch 4g and that was fun totether jailbreak...not
Android phones are released so often b/c they TRY to advance technology unlike apple who take a year old phone and slaps on the chip from an slightly old tablet.
I've seen this guy before, I think his whole show is about Apple. I doubt very much he's if he ever touched an Android phone.
That's the difference between Android users and IOS, I would say about 80% of Android users, own IOS product. Where about 2% of IOS users, own Android.
Most Apple fanboys are quik to say they have the better products, but don't really know.
damn, way too many apple fanboys in that chatroom...
GN is getting a lot of attention because it is THE Google phone. it will have Google support for at least a couple years. and dude, the phone looks distinct and awesome. a lotta blogs saying it's the best phone. i'm sure it's gonna be great.
I've been an iPhone user for the past 3 and a half years and I'm thinking about getting the Galaxy Nexus because of the new operating system they got, which seems fantastic, the 4.65 inch phone looks perfect with the 720p resolution, and how light the device is. What I mainly do on the phone is browse the web, check emails, text messages, a few phone calls, video streaming, and listen to music.
@lockergnome I think you're a little too old for that fanboy crap. I mean what you just wrote is typical of a fanboy... you know how much ahead android is of the punie little iphone, just give it up man... companies come and go, no need to cry!
@lockergnome I find this interesting and you are correct, no one does wait in line for a samsung device and the reason why is simple. Samsung does not advertise there products up the ass like apple does. Now im not bashing apple at all but they create so much hype over every product even more then any other competitor. for example for the average consumer when they see the 4s it only really has a better camera and siri but just the wait it is advertised still just makes people want it. its hype
ICS Looks fantastic. I need to use with myself first. I'd rather wait for the next ICS phones, to give them time for any initial bugs or annoyances to get ironed out, plus perhaps better hardware.
At the same time, I hope ICS will take advantage of said hardware. Theres a lot of unknowns with Android, which is why I'm leaning towards an iPhone 5 or w/e next year. I have an android phone now, i'll just milk it out for as long as I can.
#1 thing about my iphone that i hate.... when using the gps i have to manually cycle though the directions on my phone it doesnt reroute, read the directions to me, or click ahead on its own which takes your hands off the wheel = dangerous and frustrating...
Galaxy Nexus pimp slaps anything made by apple..

Screw android I had 2 of them. iPhone users have minimal problems with some having battery problems. Android has a whole different problem.
