I can't help but notice the guitar picker laughing his but off while the singer is standing there before him looking all serious and stuff :D 3:32 - 3:55
It feels like im in the same room as them, and Eric is singing to me lol. Thank you Magus for the great quality. Hard to believe this is from 1964! Wonder if Eric has seen this. I think the quality would amaze him.
It looks like 35mm film shot anamorphically for a feature film, At that point, what has 1964 got to do with it? 35mm will kill just about anything short of 70mm. It looks and sounds lovely; I wish I knew which film this was from. Great clip.
@BaronEmpain You're right, this clip is from a feature film called Pop Gear (aka: Go Go Mania), released in 1965 & shot on 35mm, 2.35:1 aspect ratio. No plot, just a collection of mimed studio performances from various 60's britpop bands & singers. It's a gem! The film did get a dvd release a few years ago but I don't think it's available anymore.. unless you can pick it up second hand. It's great quality throughout. I cherish my copy!
Haley reinhart is who they're prob talking about and before you make a dickhead out of yerself by calling her a slut and saying this is the original song oh wait you already did. She's got an awesome raspy voice which has been compared to Janis joplin's. leadbelly and other people sung this before the animals did, they're not the "original"
Fail at 2:47. Your hear the drums doing crazy stuff but in the video you just see him drumming the simpeler thing.
But, I just love this mmusic man! Al these things like the sparkles, the doors, jimmi and black sabbath is the right music not that bloody fucking cock sucking music of this age...
Fail at 2:22. Your hear the drums doing crazy stuff but in the video you just see him drumming the simpeler thing.

@sabresfan010994 It was not written in the 1960's. The song was written in the 1800s or earlier. It is also said that the original location of the "bordello" might have been in Sohol, and was adapted to New Orleans by folk musicians. Much like many old folk ballads, no one knows who the author of the song was. The earliest recording of the song is from 1933 by Clarence Ashley and Gwen Foster.
Also, nothing can top Strawberry Fields Forever as the greatest 60's song :P
...but the song was not written in the 60s or by The Animals - it's an old American folk song. No one really knows therefore when it was written or who by.
Love the semi-Crosses, the procession (New Orleans funeral march style) of guitarist towards the percussionist and organ player, and of course, the knockout voice of Eric Burden, who towards the end of this vid, makes his lead guitar man grin like a fox in a chicken house.
Was listening to this song and could not help help but read the comments. A few people say that Haley's version is so much better, so being a fan of the song, I had to go listen to it. What I heard disappointed me greatly, the sing artist took a song that is full of energy and soul, then turned it in into something I cannot enjoy listening to. She slowed the tempo down too much and dragging every note out for 2 seconds is no where near necessary. She has a good voice just not the right song.
I've read that this song is several hundred years old but at the most its about 260 years old because it mentions blue jeans which were invented during the California gold rush in the 1800's
I remember when this came out. It had a rather mixed reception. I was a teenager at the time and it seemed a bit 'gritty' compared to everything else that was on the radio. But it had a compelling power about it, and was soon recognised as a classic.
Sounds kinda gothic, huh?? heres a Brit boy who had soul in his voice. Hes the only white boy in the 60's good enough to jam with soul artist Sonny Boy Williamson, an American artist. Mr. Eric Burden, I hope to shake your hand someday soon.
Apparently this is the first every Lip sync video ever recorded? Nevertheless this or Gimme Shelter by the Stones are without a doubt the best song in the world, ever.
How r they playing wit no cords coming out of there guitars at all it can't be wirelless can it I mean there in the 1960's did they havv that type of technology lol weird .
