  • they just dont make music like this no more

  • they sound like the rolling stones and the doors combined, pretty epic

  • most excellent!

  • Epic smile of the bass at 3:44

  • Thumbs up if you still looking this in the new year ;)

  • Haha this song sounds soooo different when you listen to it without watching the video.

  • Same tune as in Dexter

  • it's so... so natural, frank, true... this is the VERY rock'n'roll!

  • I can't help but notice the guitar picker laughing his but off while the singer is standing there before him looking all serious and stuff :D 3:32 - 3:55

  • @VincentMCFC He was probably baked haha

  • It's hard to really believe this is real, I mean it almost sounds so good it just doesn't makes sense. Bravo, bravo the Animals.

  • I drink four loko and rock out to this

  • what made the Animals great was Eric's voice and Alan's keyboards, brought out the blues in a gospel sort of way

  • pretty damn good def for 64 jeez!!

  • It feels like im in the same room as them, and Eric is singing to me lol. Thank you Magus for the great quality. Hard to believe this is from 1964! Wonder if Eric has seen this. I think the quality would amaze him.

  • the great own never dye

  • 46 Years ago I heard this for the first time and thought it the best song I ever. Haven't changed my mind yet

  • im drunk an this is awesome,,.

  • damn, the quality is simply insane !

  • Absolutely fantastic!! This song has absolutely no competition whatsoever. All hail the Animals with this song.

  • One of those songs that as stood the test of time!!

That guy on the keyboard is awesome!!

  • man they dont make organ solos like that anymore WOW!!

  • Ridiculous in HD. Makes me feel like I took a time machine back into the 60's.

  • loslobenostres: where were you in the queue then when looks were given out?

  • Just listen to his range . Awesome.

  • The had HDs in the 60s? Anyways, these guys are the best.

  • This song always had such sexual feelings for me..... The lyrics and Eric's voice were forbidden...........

  • LOOK KIDS....TALENT

  • Top 10 greatest song of all time

  • @124w12 ugly but still a good singer

  • how is this quality so good?

  • Say what you will but one thing will always be true:

Eric burden is pretty damn ugly

  • @loslobenostres EB is 70 years old and I'd still do him, on a table, in front of his wife and your mom.

  • what can you say except "Wow!" That never gets old.

  • @Ranting Thespian really? Strawberry fields forever? that's not even the best Beatles song of the 60's. While my guitar gently weeps is way better!

  • One of the greatest voices and songs of all time!!!

  • 17 ppl missed the rising sun in new orleans.

  • Re: the quality of the clip:

It looks like 35mm film shot anamorphically for a feature film, At that point, what has 1964 got to do with it? 35mm will kill just about anything short of 70mm. It looks and sounds lovely; I wish I knew which film this was from. Great clip.

  • @BaronEmpain You're right, this clip is from a feature film called Pop Gear (aka: Go Go Mania), released in 1965 & shot on 35mm, 2.35:1 aspect ratio. No plot, just a collection of mimed studio performances from various 60's britpop bands & singers. It's a gem! The film did get a dvd release a few years ago but I don't think it's available anymore.. unless you can pick it up second hand. It's great quality throughout. I cherish my copy!

  • @magusmagic4 It's still available at Amazon.com ; )

  • Love the organ solo, he's got crazy fingers

  • @xXSpaceshigXx how do they remaster it? like what do they do to the original to make it so amazingly sharp now

  • And God I know I'm ONE....

  • @pinhalokevin

Haley reinhart is who they're prob talking about and before you make a dickhead out of yerself by calling her a slut and saying this is the original song oh wait you already did. She's got an awesome raspy voice which has been compared to Janis joplin's. leadbelly and other people sung this before the animals did, they're not the "original"

  • Love this. Btw, there is no "original" of this song. No one knows who or where it came from (like a lot of old folk songs). Eric Burdon owns

  • Jesus christ can he sing...cute guy too.

  • This video is bad ass

  • Fail at 2:47. Your hear the drums doing crazy stuff but in the video you just see him drumming the simpeler thing.

But, I just love this mmusic man! Al these things like the sparkles, the doors, jimmi and black sabbath is the right music not that bloody fucking cock sucking music of this age...

  • Fail at 2:22. Your hear the drums doing crazy stuff but in the video you just see him drumming the simpeler thing.

But, I just love this mmusic man! Al these things like the sparkles, the doors, jimmi and black sabbath is the right music not that bloody fucking cock sucking music of this age...

  • I get high to this

  • For 1964, the quality is insane. In addition, this song may be the greatest one written in the 60s.

  • @sabresfan010994 It was not written in the 1960's. The song was written in the 1800s or earlier. It is also said that the original location of the "bordello" might have been in Sohol, and was adapted to New Orleans by folk musicians. Much like many old folk ballads, no one knows who the author of the song was. The earliest recording of the song is from 1933 by Clarence Ashley and Gwen Foster.

Also, nothing can top Strawberry Fields Forever as the greatest 60's song :P

  • @sabresfan010994 Incredible quality of video indeed.

...but the song was not written in the 60s or by The Animals - it's an old American folk song. No one really knows therefore when it was written or who by.

  • @sabresfan010994 it was writing in the 30s and dylan sung it in 63

  • This song, this voice, is ICONIC

  • Nice video looks so clear bout learn it on the piano yea boi

  • Truly one of the top rock classics of all time! Haunting...and amazing....

  • mje tykköön

  • The organ solo is awesome!

  • Love the semi-Crosses, the procession (New Orleans funeral march style) of guitarist towards the percussionist and organ player, and of course, the knockout voice of Eric Burden, who towards the end of this vid, makes his lead guitar man grin like a fox in a chicken house.

  • What talent! His voice is amazing, didnt even need Autotune (not that he could've used it) what talent. Great song.

  • One of the best song ever made!

  • How come they all look clean cut, but he looks sort of scruffy?

  • Amazing voice gives me the chills!!! Doesn't hurt that he's good looking

  • Why is it that this generation must ruin songs. For real.

  • Brilliant song, crap miming but still awesome :)

  • If I were to be in a Western movie ...this song would play every time I entered a room :)

  • Who the hell is hailey???? No slut sings it better than the original!!!!!

  • Everytime I hear this song I think of the assasination montage from the film

    Casino.

  • The first Stairway...

  • You are all mental if you all think Haley's version is better.

This is brilliant full of feeling.

  • @liamkettin2010 You are a fucking idiot.

  • I love hearing this song while im smoking a joint

  • Good song and good writer

  • Stfu halieys version sucks. All she does is draw out every note for like 5 seconds... Ruins the whole goddam song

  • SUPERNATURAL =D

  • Was listening to this song and could not help help but read the comments. A few people say that Haley's version is so much better, so being a fan of the song, I had to go listen to it. What I heard disappointed me greatly, the sing artist took a song that is full of energy and soul, then turned it in into something I cannot enjoy listening to. She slowed the tempo down too much and dragging every note out for 2 seconds is no where near necessary. She has a good voice just not the right song.

  • This is awesome! But Haley's version is epic!

  • Awesome!! Pure talent..

  • Haley sings it better!

  • Persentable

  • I wss born in the wrong geration our stuff is crappy and the ppl dress like satan worshipers this at least the guys look persentablr

  • This is my jam

  • How cool are the organist's shoes?

  • Fuck me in the goat ass this song is yes "shit fuck amazing" ! Gah' damn....

  • the guitarist has his creepa face on

  • Outstanding, yea this is the way it used to be. Wonderful!!!!!

  • I was born in the wrong generation.. my generation of music is all bull shit Bitches and hos and ignorance.. we need more times like this!

  • It's sad to see music where its at these days. We need the old days back

  • The keyboards in this song are shitfuckamazing.

  • I've read that this song is several hundred years old but at the most its about 260 years old because it mentions blue jeans which were invented during the California gold rush in the 1800's

  • An all time classic track, love it

  • Holy crap that was awesome

  • Fantastic voice, ugly mug.

  • @Bebkins geesh look at him in the song "when i was young" looks hell a lot better than mick jagger

  • @TheMadDooby there was color video back in the 30's so that means they had it in the 60's

  • how the hell is this in color?

  • I remember when this came out. It had a rather mixed reception. I was a teenager at the time and it seemed a bit 'gritty' compared to everything else that was on the radio. But it had a compelling power about it, and was soon recognised as a classic.

  • Sounds kinda gothic, huh?? heres a Brit boy who had soul in his voice. Hes the only white boy in the 60's good enough to jam with soul artist Sonny Boy Williamson, an American artist. Mr. Eric Burden, I hope to shake your hand someday soon.

  • This is the pure capitalist music!!!

  • June 27 2011. found out about the animals and loving it ever since

  • Apparently this is the first every Lip sync video ever recorded? Nevertheless this or Gimme Shelter by the Stones are without a doubt the best song in the world, ever.

  • Did u know this was about a whore house? (Great song btw)

  • clásicazoo.

  • @PSP3000user it's a music video. The audio is prerecorded this is just for show.

  • I love this song. One of the best ever

  • I also for some reason get chills when I hear this

  • Classic Track!

  • Great song!

  • I get chills every time I hear this.

  • I prefer playing the rhythm slower

  • Wow they look nothing close to what I expected

  • love it!!!

  • i didn't know the older brother from the Wonder Years played keyboard in this band:)

  • Great song... Obviously miming on this video. Haha hardly opens his mouth and he's screaming :')

  • Time makes this song ever greater, nothing to compare to it!! thanks for the video!!

  • a 13 personas le gusta la cumbia, cuarteto, regeton y todas esas mierdas

  • How r they playing wit no cords coming out of there guitars at all it can't be wirelless can it I mean there in the 1960's did they havv that type of technology lol weird .

  • @PSP3000user The usual practice on TV was/is to play the record & pretend to sing.

  • Organ solo...beest

  • 1964? With that quality? AWEsome!!

  • I've always thought this song sounded like something The Doors should have done. Jim Morrison's voice would have been perfect for it.

  • which instrument and model is using alan price in this vid??

  • @milliondolarsfrree Alan is playing a Vox Continental organ here

  • @magusmagic2 thanks bro :) nice vid.

  • the lead singer, has an AMAZING voice!

  • That voice does not look like it should be coming out of someone that young! So gravelly and nice. And while I always knew how fast that "organ" part was, I never realized his fingers flew that fast. One of my favorite songs of all time, ever.

  • Is that guitarist James Milner? Haha, looks just like him!

  • Excelente video, parece actual.

  • I'm 18. And I like the music of the 60s-80s much better than that of my generation. Not all of it is bad, but a lot of it is.

  • @Subderhenge im with you on that one. im 15 and i totally agree. i mean i like some country and R&B from our generation. but i love 60s-80s too. when music was actually music. i especially love the 80s

  • fantastic video for it's age,,,thanks

  • These guys know how to make a music video! They look good, and sound great!! Wish certain musicians nowadays wouldn't under estimate the power of simplicity.

  • March 11. Earthquake and tsunami. It is a disaster. A lot of Japanese died. It is sad. I stabilized the mind by music.

  • 11 people who "disliked" this video don't know what REAL MUSIC is!!!

  • Comment removed

  • po prostu kozak nuta!

  • Huh? Where are all the guys flashing their huge gold-dollar necklases? where are all the women shaking their huge booties? where are all the expensive cars and where are all the disco lights?

Oh.. wait i forgot.. this is REAL MUSIC.

  • @GSTVnetwork lol

  • i wish i was born that early, to have experienced that time :(

  • Great

  • now imagine this: Eric Burdon starts his career in 2005, he enlists to sing in Britains Got Talent, he's being ditched or laughed at 'couse some self proclaimed music gods tell so. He goes back to where he lives, finds a job as a car mechanic. We never hear House of rising sun. *scared*

  • @vord2000 - Even more likely is that he gets into the competition but is voted off by the public. If the public didn't buy the disposable shit they get served up these days we might have a chance of hearing some more interesting stuff.

  • YES YES YES

  • tempos bons que não voltam mais. bjs...

  • awesome!

    tnx.
