I love my dobie, she looks exactly like the black Lenin this video. She is very protective, but when we tell her it's okay she goes and plays with the other dog, or cautiously and very nervously walks over to the person. But she gets very aggressive with other dogs in the neighborhood when they play with toys, she growls and hovers over it like its hers, anyone got a clue why?

Make sure you  have enough time and resources to take good care of them. It is a lifetime commitment - you will be getting a new family member.

@0439525 first think about what you want from your pet dog and about the time you can give it, dobermans are GREAT dogs but sadly not for everyone...

They can show more love and care than anything you might think of, they are VERY tender still will defend you in the most viscious ways, they will love and protect you and your family with all their heart and power STILL THEY NEED GOOD SOCIALIZATION and if you can't do that? or don't know how!!! Get help or try with another breed. God bless

I had a VERY special Doberman (he had been brain damaged as a puppy and had to learn to walk and run again... he was a special boy)... He passed away a year and a half ago at age 11 to heart disease. I am grateful every day for having had him in my life. He was the BEST!!!! I now care for a friend's 10-month old female Dobe and I just adore her.
