Isn't "steel cross" where arms are straight out in front with wrists closer together than in a weight lifting "front raise?" & all strength is specific. He'd beat an arm wrestler his size on ring strength, the AW would pin his arm unless he was low ranked AW. Bell High Hurst Texas had student Mike Smith lots of tan not on gym team he seemed to be able to hold a cross longer than anyone could stay awake to watch him doing it not as exaggerated as it sounds all footballers stood aside for him.
Yes, only 2 others athletes ever displayed it in a meeting: Ali Al Asi at Glasgow 2009 and Stanford's Peter Derman at Cal in 2005. Neither were as good as rodrigues one.
ive actually sliped the same way before. it wasnt his fault, its the equipment. The left ring didnt have enough chalk on it, and for his bail he loosens his grip inorder to shift his wrists. i sliped off the same way at my level 8 regionals warmup routine. im surprised he didnt do something to his elbow the way he landed. i happend to land on my back the same way but my dismount was slow enough for me to pull both my arms in to avoid injury.
Victorian press to Inverted cross. The guy is a beast....and his strength combinations went on forever. And, it's the first time I've seen someone peel off on rings dismount. Crazy strong though.
good god. good thing he fell on his back like he did, and not worse. we was doing so well. those victorian's were absolute! hope he recovers, not too many french force gymnasts on the rings, or any for that matter. (that i know of)
That fall was scary!

@Fizniperal yah i saw both of them do the victorian but no were near as good as this guy
yurishan1994 1 year ago
to do this you have to be really short and have great triceps and upper back. and little genital helps, less lower weight the better
stfuBUDDY 1 year ago
Now that I think about it, how is that move even possible!? O_o
Od3ri 1 year ago
alot of the victorian is ab strength
lawler123 1 year ago
no, if you have the abs to do a front lever that's enough.
It's mainly triceps and upper back.

@lawler123 he seems like the only guy who really does victorians

what exercices can you do to learn the victorian? im not at that level yet but im just wondering
bsckflipp2008 2 years ago
1) raise your body on p-bars like a victorian
2) lots of spotting negatives
Fizniperal 2 years ago
Yeah. You need to learn pretty much everything before the victorian. The victorian is generally last.

@wazzy198 my friend can't do a handstand on rings but he can maltese

For him to have fell the way he did, his score wasn't so bad.

thats what one of the jappanese gymnast did at the 08 lympics i think it was tomita or Uchimora
247gymnastics08 3 years ago
Hiroyuki Tomita fell in the team finals. According to him, his ring grip broke when he was swinging.
Fizniperal 3 years ago
Not even gonna lie. That was a pretty bad screw up. He's lucky he landed the way he did.

how come his hands are blue at 2.40?
Bezzo123 3 years ago
I think its because he puts his grips on too tight and theres no blood to his hands now.
