Seems like I heard, on more than one occasion though, that meth has been around (in some form) for many, many years. I will say that it certainly wasn't available when I was into experimenting back in the 80's, but that doesn't mean it wasn't available somewhere else. This was what, 77 or 78? I'm sure you're right, even if it was around it hadn't really been discovered by the party crowd.
