Your cat reminds me of 1 of my 8 cats. ... i really want a husky but my mum's worried it might kill 1 of the cats so it's hard to persuade her, and it can be quite hard to persuade if you're not even fully persuaded yourself. Can you leave yours alone together? :)

It's true. Huskies are natrual hunters and will more than likley (( if left alone when there is no ''pack leader'' )) attack and kill whatever is huntable.

This video is great, but my sister's husky was raised from being a puppy with her cat, and he killed it when they were out of the house. Since then he has killed two cats that came into their yard. I just commented here so people stay aware that it depends on the luck of the draw whether a husky is cat safe or not, and it is a big risk. The children were quite upset as you can imagine.

Where are you getting your Husky from? Im very tempted to get one, Ive been reading about them for months, but im concerned my cat and or the dog wont get on.

I live in australia. I had a pup 6weeks old but we had to give him back because our cats couldnt be in the same room, let alone the house so they barely came in for food etc, hence why we had to give him up :(. Like you, we read up on Huskies for months etc but that wasnt the case. Next time we get one, we're going to introduce them in a differant way. Have the pup in home first then the cats/or dog come in and see him. ive heard it works, so its worth a try. I really want/need a good dog :)

any dog can live with a cat... it's the dog personallity... usually younger dogs with more energy will terrize the cat...

Getting a kitten and a puppy around the same time helps cause then they grow up together and get used to each other that way.

not sure myself cos aint got a cat, but have been told lots of stories about huskys killin cats...even if they wer brought up 2gether, jus husky's have a sronger huntin instinct than most other dogs, but as i said not sure....ur risk lol

Clearly these two get along well, but there are dogs that are a safer bet. I've never taken the chance, but I don't have space for a Husky, anyway. I love Jack Russells and Shiba Inus, too, but they also have a reputation for being less than cat-friendly. Raising them together helps, though, with any breed.
