You can have a police car and you can also have a light bar,Under one circumstance,the light bar has to be between the color of white and amber.Blue red and another color is for people who work for the county or government.If you are deciding to get a light bar you might wanna check with you county otherwise they will probably pull you over and give you alot of shit for it.

@oltskooler No, you are allowed to buy used police cars, but it is illegal to have a lightbar and siren on it. It is also illegal to have any police identifying letters, I would assume the "K-9 Unit, keep away" would fall under that category.

I think this model Crown Vic will be phased out by Ford by end of 2011. The new version, called the Interceptor, looks nothing like this. I drive a 1998 Vic, former detective's car. I love it. A friend of mine who works in the film biz here in L.A. told me Drew Barrymore drives one, too. I love how people pull to the side as I pass them. I even had a Metro bus pull over!

@mickeydrummer29 dude its the best move you'll ever make! I'm 16 and I got a 1999 Crown Vic Police Interceptor as my first car. MPG is poor, about 15 mpg, but they are really reliable, safe, and comfortable cars. I love big roomy vechicles, and this is it! Plus you get tons of respect on the highway driving a cop car. People move right over when you come up behind them! BTW, the stereo isn't that bad.

A prop house who rents things for movie and television productions might be interested in a Vic with all that equipment. But anybody else would look like a tool driving around in that.

I'd like to purchase a P71 at some point because it's probably the most highway worthy car I can think of for the price. A push bar and maybe a spotlight would be cool - and functional to keep on the car. But this other stuff is way overboard.

and another question, how in the world can you sell this car on ebay? I thought they have a strict policy against a vehicle having any unauthorized emergency equipment on it. I have a 2003 C.V.P.I myself and it had all the equipment on it, I donated all the equipment back to a local police department. playing police is not smart, not at all.
