Rachel and a man (her hubby?) "stole" a couple of our front-row seats at the rally, for a while. I was laughing because I knew who she was, but the rest of my group didn't, and the 2 whose seats had gotten stolen kicked out Rachel+1 as soon as they returned. I tried to explain, but it was loud and not the best place to discuss things. Ah well... tales from the r3VOLution! :-)

Gold isn't an investment, its a preservation of your savings. Hyper inflation wipes out the middle class, people with gold don't get wiped out. Pretty simple concept, really hard sell to the masses. Biggest problem the masses have is trusting their governments. Pay attention to the symtoms, gold is hard to find for a reason. Unique historic situation, low price, hard to find...new introduction to hyperinflation.

Anybody who does a bit of research will come to understand that Greenspan was a man of contradictions, yet extremely bright. The fact he was the chairman of the Fed is amazing, since he (at one time) supported the gold standard (ergo, did not think the Fed should exist). He's no idiot, but I do not know if any of us will ever discover what his true motivations really were.

I totally agree. I wonder why Peter makes them out to be ignorant because there is no question that Alan Greenspan knows what Austrian economics is. I don't know the other two as much as Greenspan, but it would be hard to believe that they don't either.

I'm guessing he's being Ron Paul-style diplomatic, with that comment. It's a "soft" way of encouraging the audience to envision a better future, without focusing overly hard on the present.  But, that's only my guess.
