I happen to find praying mantis' to be UBER CREEPY!!! However, the one in the video was not live and could not stare me down in its creepy alien way so I was okay watching the vid. In real life, I can't cross their path. They stare at me and try to hypnotize me, I swear it!

when i was eight during the summer, i found a parying mantis outside and i kept him in a jar for three weeks. it grew up to ten inches long! i named it Gary (yes, like the snail) and i fed it crickets from my yard that i caught. it was so much fun! it is such a fond memory! thanks for posting this video and halping me remember such a fun time in my life!

You can buy eggs sacks of them at garden shops. When mine hatched there were thousands of them and they were HOT PINK, tiny little buggers. Most do not survive, the rest usually don't stay in the area. But a few weeks later they will start to pop up here and there. You have to be patient waiting for them to hatch, as they will not hatch until the weather goes above about 95 degrees or more. They're great for controlling garden bugs that ruin veggies and fruit.
