The point of rules like the travel, double dribble, carry, etc, is to make sure that players dont have any kind of an unfair advantage on the opposition. In an instance like that where theres no defense, it really wouldnt matter, so theres really no reason to call it. If he took five steps then it wouldnt matter if he was the only one on the court. It would get called regardless. But three small steps in that instance is no real big deal.

if the travel does not effect the play at all such as this one they wont call it but if it was a dunk with three or four people around him it would be a travel. :P

the reason they didnt call a travel is because that 3rd step is called a baby step so they dont call travels for a third step and a second thing..... If ur on a fast break they will MOST likely not call a travel.

The point of rules like the travel, double dribble, carry, etc, is to make sure that players dont have any kind of an unfair advantage on the opposition. In an instance like that where theres no defense, it really wouldnt matter, so theres really no reason to call it. If he took five steps then it wouldnt matter if he was the only one on the court. It would get called regardless. But three small steps in that instance is no real big deal.

@dudesonman4200 I get what you're saying, but 2 points can go a long way, not in this go though, but in a close game, in the final minutes, travels should be called even if there is no defense on a fast break.

Lebron has his own set of rules made for him, he can get away whith going from a triple-threat, to a euro step lay up and turn it into an illegal hop-step.. gosh refs and the nba are sooo biased...
