  • When we always think the Chinese copy ideas and claim to be theirs... think again... these two came in as if they have invented this, making me feel sick, day in and day out, I am buying it in the street of Hong Kong and Taiwan.

  • sick amount to have to give away, but the fact is, they will become, or already are, rich from it.

  • ya right when i saw it i thought it was bubble tea...

  • IT'S JUST BUBBLE TEA!!!! THEY JUST WENT TO CHINA AND COPIED IT.

  • Any time one of the dragons says "I think you'll need more money than that" they mean "I want more of the business".

  • wtf they have a trademark on this? they copied this from chinese style "bubble tea".

  • Totally disagree with some people commenting that they should have asked the dragons to f-off. They are young. They stand to gain and learn so much more from the expertise and experience of the "dragons." When they set themselves out to do other businesses (apart from Atomic), they would have so much added value to themselves as opposed to having run Atomic themselves, trialling and errorring.

  • Two years later, has anyone been to an atomic tea?

  • Didn't they rip the idea off from someone else like, Rob got in a cab right after the show and told the Cabbie about it... and the Cabbie is like, there's a place just like that on the other side of town. Took him there, and Rob was like... "SHEEEIT THOSE BASTARDS" hahaha

  • she just gave away her bussiness that they both put so much in

  • Chick sold her soul, hopefully she made her money.

  • more like atomic tears

  • Her partner is so going home brewing an atomic tea and lighting up a doobie to celebrate this.

  • haha, lmao... its true that they got ripped off, but thats how the den works man. If everything happened all happy dappily then there would be no excitement and this is how life works too

  • The "skunk" hair lady has no clue about business. I have met with her a number of times and she talks off the cuff, blabs things that her staff need to correct her on in the meeting, is overly emotional and takes things personally and not "just business" attitude. I assume she would be a nightmare to live with. Her poor husband.

  • open a store in Toronto!!

We need more tea cafes like this and the price isn't even that bad!

  • turn the fucking deal down! these idiots keep strong arming good ideas - brutal den!

  • @Thomistica These People are just doing a Job.

In the UK. It has been known that our, "Dragons", have actually heavily invested into projects for good causes, with Something like 2% between Them.

So, in the US. It may be different, but here, They aren't gits.

  • It's unpleasant to see people give up control of good businesses for immediate investment.

  • @RJK5000 If you don't, someone with the upfront capital will come a long and stomp you out of business.

  • these assholes always pull this 51% percent shit. Especially Jim Treliving. Really the greatest part of getting on the show would have to be the publicity.

  • poor guys got pushed around by the dragons. O'leary is brilliant, but way too greedy

  • fukkin shark theives!!!....why the hell do you need all 5 sharks? 3 of the have ZERO experience in the food business....id tell em to fuck off! if i put my blood sweat and tears into a dream and you come trying to rip it from me.

  • it looks like bubble tea

  • she should have taken arlene's deal

  • Bubble tea? lol...

  • That women is my neighbor

  • @SuperNerd707 Agreed! Kevin is my favourite on the show.

  • only difference is that the whitety tighties are trying to say thay made the product that's just copyright. how are they not sued.

  • what about bubble tea made by the chinese?

  • oh greedy greedy kevin. this show is so addictive

  • Silly girl, completely clueless. She could have got an offer for 35-40% if she knew anything. Negotiating skills = non-existent. The dragons will have to put in more money and thus tale more equity. They will end up owning the company. The boy and girl had a good product but ZERO knowledge about business. Oh well, they will find out alright...

  • That is CRAZY. They should take $75k times 3 =$225K instead of that 105K.

Have 3 dragons is good enough. They don't need all 5 of them. Kevin is one greedy and manipulative. But I guess the sister and brother team had to accept it because they were'nt making any money!

  • wtf? this is just bubble tea. i can get that at the mall.

  • @deltaboi88 lol its atomic it taste wayyy better than bubble tea i've been there i cant beleive its only in calgary it should be everywhere

  • @TheWhiteKid22 I still never had Atomic yet... Any recommendations if I happen to be in Calgary? They should really open one up here in Northern BC, So that i can have a taste.

  • Is her brother a def mute?

  • thye just lost 105k in a matter of minutes

  • Can someone confirm that these are Canadian dollars as the currency for discussion ?

  • Comment removed

  • Haha, kevin is such an asshole. Love it.

  • dumb bi atch

  • I live in Calgary Alberta and I've been to their store it's awsome best tea ever

  • @youtoo124365 I want to try it now, I'll come from BC just for that tea!

  • @sherwind2010 you'll come for the tea, and stay for the green!

  • @sherwind2010 I can mail it to you.

  • @youtoo124365 what kind of tea are they making?

  • the dragons are just pissed because they blew a million and a quarter on that retarded uno bike for 20 per cent, fucktards.

  • Oh, I'm just gonna' watch this video, been watching plenty of Dragon's Den videos tod--

BOOOOOOOM, MY EARS FLY OFF MY HEAD AND LAND ON MY BED.

  • Dragons ate them alive.

  • you gave away 50% of your company, you are a complete idiot

  • @TylerTBarnes

They've put all their belongings into this... the choice was hard to do.

  • Comment removed

  • Have these people never tried bubble tea? Get an asian on this show!

  • This is what happens when you let a women negotiate

  • @cheeseymold And Arlene is what? A man? Dumbass.

When a man say stupid things, does stupid things, nobody goes saying "Oh! that's the proof men are imbeciles!". No, it just means HE is a imbecile.

Why does everytime a woman does something wrong, everyone is so keen on seeing in it the proof that women are useless?

This world is generally led by men, and I don't see they've made a cracking job at it : I don't go saying this is the proof all men are crap.

    Stop generalizing.

  • @math581

"When a man say stupid things, does stupid things, nobody goes saying "Oh! that's the proof men are imbeciles!""

    --

    :/

Dunno what it's like where you live but women say shit like this all the time over here.....

  • They need to bring this to Toronto, I want to try :(

  • when does this show come on ?

  • if i was them as soon as I see all the Dragons intrested I would never change my first offer!

  • i fcking hate that bald fcking dragon hes such a greedy fat fuck

  • dude he's one of the reasons why the show is awesome

  • I am surprised seeing these american investors sound so unprofessional comparing with the UK version !!

  • first of all these are CANADIAN investors and second of all uk is shit and there ppl

  • this show is canadian

  • after many episodes i have come to the conclusion there are only certain things the dragons are interested in.

i have been to the atomic location and it's good but very expensive

  • Well no fucking shit, the things that make them money

  • mmm...Atomic Tea!!

  • It's a East-Asian variety called "Bubble Tea" or "Pearl Tea", it's sweet and contains Tapioca. Brits didn't invent tea you know, it's been around in many forms for millennia, although admittedly bubble tea is a 20th century Taiwanese innovation.

  • if your shit looks like this, i'd advise you to seek medical attention immediately.

  • @IWantATubeAccount that's what the indians and the chinese say when they look at brtish tea

  • @IWantATubeAccount Oh, my god. Being British definitely bolster everything. Cause you know what you being British adds so much depth into your comments towards tea.

  • @IWantATubeAccount No one cares about the fact you're British. Plus, who cares what it looks like. You must give workers a hard time because you demand your tea to look a certain colour or way.

  • The dragons really need to get out more. There're are bubble tea cafes everywhere but then Booster Juice made it long after smoothies were everywhere. I thought the dragons were capitalists but the type of collusion that went on here is grossly unethical.

  • first of all, they are not american. they are canadian. CBC is a canadian television channel. check ur facts before u speak. and yes, they r assholes

  • they just lost the major share of their own company, bloody hell x

  • this american version of dragons den is like a game - dragons doubt whether to invest £10000 - thats £10000 into a business - and £10000 is absolutely absolutely nothing - watch the real BBC dragons den where the dragons invest £250000 - $500000 into businesses!! the american one is rubbish and the dragons are extremely dissapointing as they fight for even 1%!

  • i forgot to mention: it's at 3min45

  • "It was the worst deal" said one of the Dragon Robert Herjavec, go see the video on the Dragons'Den Cbc site section video

    Robert Herjevac interview

  • go back in the dark you POS

  • gotta love the American version 'Ooooh my deals better than your deal'. meheh

  • they got bent over backwards never shoudl have given away so much

  • Simple rule of investment: you done give large amounts of money for high-risk ventures unless you get a BIG cut.

  • Yes but 49% would have been good enough, they shouldn't have given away the company like that.

  • the american dragons are assholes, always want control of businesses

  • I know it pisses me off and its Canadian lol

  • im from canada but also think the uk dragons den is better, on our show they seem so greedy.. i would never give more then half my company away

  • "go back into the dark" what a fag. our uk dragons den is alot better on many levels.

  • i havent seen many episodes of either version... but of the ones ive seen i preferred the canadian version. UK versions is too heavily narrated - gets annoying. let the dragons speak for themselves!

  • @dezmika I don't doubt your UK version of Dragon's Den isn't better than any other. But at 25 years of age, may I suggest (as I suspect you may have to communicate to others in your lifetime), that instead of calling others 'fags' and boast that your version is better on 'many levels' you drop your homophobic defensive communication and actually offer us ways HOW your UK version is better than other versions? Or, is that too work?

  • whats the point with 50 POINT 1?!?!

  • majority share = control of the company. kinda a big deal ;)

  • ahh okej :)

  • In The UK.

The Dragons are not allowed to make more than one offer each, to prevent this stuff, from happening.

I mean, come on, what sort of a GENTLEMAN goes back, on their offer?

Haggling, is one thing, but to turn around and say, "We've decided amongst ourselves: No Deal"...

...That doesn't make them look like good People, does it?

  • @shadowolf192 They're just out to get the best deal for themselves as well, otherwise they wouldn't be dragons.

  • @shadowolf192 The Dragons ARE allowed to make more than one offer each in the U.K, quite a number of times a Dragon has said they'll make two offers.

  • @shadowolf192 but they don't care if they look like good people. it's clearly how they got rich...

  • @shadowolf192 there's no such thing as 'gentlemen' in business. Business is business and all relationships are fiscal, especially when you're an investor like O'Leary. Besides, the person has the opportunity to back down, they aren't forced into a deal. It's there decision.

  • @Tapout170000 I agree that Personal Life and Business life is seperate. However, You still need to build a Rapport, if you want someone to invest in you. That's why you might need to be a Gentleman in Business.

(Why would you wear a suit, if this kind of thing didn't matter?).

Would you give your money over to someone you don't like? Maybe a mugger, but otherwise I don't think you would. No matter how good their pitch is.

Thanks for the Reply, and fair comment. :).

  • @shadowolf192 Pure capitalists like the Dragons aren't gentlemen, nor are they 'good people'. They have one interest and one interest only: Making (the most) money (possible). Considerations of virtue are beside the point for these people.

  • @shadowolf192 You don't have to be a gentleman when you're dealing with millions of dollars at stake.

  • It's in Canadia.

(Or Canada, if You have no sense of humour :).).

  • As for the Tea I would not have given up a majority share of my company

  • i'm gonna shit in a cup and tell them they never tried anything like this, then im gonna laugh in their face, and fart really loud on my way out the door

  • Somebody went to asia, tried lucky cup, then brought the idea back home. If the dragons doubted the strength of bubble tea, they should have done some more research.

  • atomic tea is almost exactly like bubble tea,

and bubble tea was made before there drink :S

  • the chick offered 120 for 40% I would of went back to her. they got hustled so bad.

  • Hustle like Rustle!

  • i agree they got completely screwed and spat out of the den.

  • @scrut Agreed. I would have stuck with Arlene's offer. It was most fair.

Yes to other posters on here, I think there's a line of thinking being overlooked here. Would you rather own 50% of a $10 million company, or own all of a $1 million company?

Because this brother and sister couple brought forth a product brand and an existing operation. They had SOMETHING the Dragon's wanted. That's a rare thing on that show. Yeah, I would have went with Arlene's deal. But it was their choice.

  • Seems more brutal than the UK version

  • I know! What the deal, eh?

  • this is quite cool. And the thing is, sure the dragon's weren't very "nice" but that is business, things evaporate and change, the people put in the money want the most out, it is their right to make changes. And as the owners said, it is worthwhile to get the expertise of all 5 "dragons" on board.

  • Good for them. :)

  • Never fall in love with the deal. (This goes for the investee side as well, not just the investor.)

  • wow I don't like this version at all. The way they bully the small businesses. The UK one is quite different.

  • i love america

  • its canadian

  • the show itself?

  • I'd really like to try that tea

  • realy idiots dragons,,,,uk one very smart

    and you gays ,,,shit

  • Very smart, just like you, right?

I'd be more convinced if you could control your punctuation and write full thoughts out.

  • You guys are not understanding the principle of successful business here. Based on what they've made to date the valuation was fair (considering that they hadnt proved the business concept). You will be happy to know that we, along with atomic Tea have already made a huge turnover. Yes we as dragons take a large % out of the company and try to fund the advancements but because we have a greater stake, then yes, we are more motivated to keep the company going strong.

  • such idiots, it wouldn't have hurt much to just wait. Over 50% of the company is ridiculous, they wanted the money too much and now they'll get pushed around to do the dragon's bidding since they no longer have a majority in the company and hence no say.

  • In UK Dragons den they never go higher then 50%. AMERICAN DDRAGONS ARE SO FUCKING GREEDY

  • These are Canadians, imbecile. What do you think "CBC" stands for? Where do you think Calgary is? This isn't greed, it's business. What kind of idiot asks for a smaller portion of the company than they could take? No wonder the America were able to take over Britain's place as the number one power in the world.

  • Fucking Greeeeeeeeeeedddddddddddyyyyyyyyyy. They are not dragons they are jackals.

  • Fuck - those dragon guys are greedy!

  • that bold guy .. is such a nasty DOG!!

  • $120000 might the cost of the busniess already, its at downtown old building with about 800 squat feet 10 tables.Sharp green sign. Its drink less orginal tast, favour.Just couple block away in china town have the bubble tea evrerwhere for less with fast food eg.chicken wings, noddles, asian snack..Most restaurant do offer it too.Ginger beef is not a tradition chinese food but world wide popular.Smart dragon have 51% of the shop, hope they can help this shop to the other state.

  • The Dragon's always come across as ruthless, over demanding, merciless vultures setting upon desperate entrepreneurs and inventors when they see something that would provide big profits for them. They give venture capital a bad name and a sour taste in this viewers mouth. The brother and sister team should never have disclosed the 550% makup on the tea products.

  • Wow, I'm really surprised the other dragons let Kevin push them around like that.

They ended up giving away a majority equity for less then they could have. I think they should have pit the dragons against each other. Also, I'd rather have at most 2 dragons, all 5'll be fighting each other for decision making control, bad idea. Sure, business looks pretty good, although as others have commented it's nothing new. There are plenty of bubble tea shops (franchised too) throughout Canada.

  • shouldnt have given that much of the equity...

  • i love atomic i go there evry friday haha = )

  • jesus... more like vulture's den

  • what the...these are just bubble tea, the drink is created in Taiwan at least 10 years ago, and it's a popular drink in Asia. I live in Vancouver, Canada, and these kind of drinks are very common. I guess every old trick will become new in Calgary.

  • This is really old in Calgary too

  • Coffee rules!!!

  • Yeah, I really want to try the Atomic!

  • OH WOW!!!! I work downtown right across from atomic. I go there once a week and I see them serving drinks every single day. Thats so wierd to see them on TV. I admit there tea is good but it seems that their just capitalizing on the idea of bubble tea. Besides the prices are a bit more expensive than that and they dont use real fruit. Other than that there good but defenitly need to improve their buisness angle! Dont see them becoming anything like starbucks though...

  • I did try bubble tea! It had Like jelly in it. I knew it looked like bubble tea, Good stuff!

  • Yeah man! Atomic-o-ramma dude!

  • your welcome

  • WOW! I can't believe how professional and good looking these two entrepreneurs were. I am blown away. How could it get any better? Other than that Kevin guy. He's a dink. GOOD JOB, BLOKES!

  • Thank you for putting up this video clip!

  • No problem :)

  • Thanks for posting this, Sherwin! :)
