  • Gorgeous <3

  • Amazing

  • This is one of my favourite ever songs and this is my favourite version! Wonderful to see them singing it, I have only heard it on record before, thank you so much for posting! XXXX

  • my gawd ...unbelievable vocals and very few people have gone wrong covering bob dylan songs that seem as timeless as stephen foster or hoagy carmichael

  • Auto harmonica!

  • the harmony is outstanding

  • @beatlestoneful Graham Nash left the band at the end of 1968 to join Crosby, Stills and Nash. The guy who replaced him is Terry Sylvester who you see in this video, he came early 1969. : )

  • @60s4everanever are you sure CSN was in 68?i seem to remember them more in the 74-75..maybe 73..or was that CSN&Y..HELL MY MEMEORY IS SHOT!!!LOL!!!!!

  • @beatlestoneful I don't know much about CSN but I saw something on Graham Nash on you tube and it said that he was more into the kind of late beatles music, anyway he met Crosby and Stills and they made a few songs together and Graham tried to introduce the songs to the Hollies but they weren't into them so after discussion he decided to leave the band and move to America which, I am pretty sure, was when he joined Crosby and Stills. Maybe they didn't become big for a while. Hope this helps : )

  • @60s4everanever; "Maybe they didn't become big for a while." You can't be serious. I'm sure you've heard of Woodstock which took place in Aug, '69..........and if you have heard of Woodstock, do you not recall who performed there? CSN were massively big, almost as soon as the band was formed.

  • @kenm17 Well i'm sorry but I don't know much about CSN or woodstock. I have heard of woodstock but that's about as far as it goes. Will have to do some research after school finishes and look them both up. By the way I did say maybe which kinda means I don't know so i'm not saying anything definite there.

  • dont see ant graham nash here

  • Come on Ports !!

  • Yeah, Tony was really really really cute.

  • Mr. Zimmerman would be so thrilled to hear those harmonies...he can write 'em, but the Hollies sure can sing 'em! They were fab with Graham Nash and without him too. A classic, fab fab fab band. PS: I was always knocked out by Bobby Elliott - check him out on "Look Through Any Window"

  • allan clark I love you xx

  • Usual great harmonies from the Hollies but Allan Clarkes messes up the lyrics in the 'mockingbird' bit.

    Should be :

Well, that mockingbird's gonna sail away

    We're gonna forget it

That big fat moon is gonna shine like a spoon

    But we're gonna let it

    You won't regret it

    Kick your shoes off.......

  • From when Tony was a lad in 1963 to quite some time into the 70's he still looked like a young man!.. I hope he is aging well these days..

  • Tony Hicks is very cute and great musician.

  • This is a great performance and I don't think I need to say who I love, lol,.

  • Still lovin' this every time I watch....Tony is just too adorable here. Great vocals...great playing.

  • Gotta love those Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman sleeves.

  • Fantastic harmony. I have never heard this version before. I was 23 when the Burl Ives one was quite a hit.

  • easy to see why this fantastic harmonising group with alan clarke in the lead, went on to become one of the best and most successful groupd ever

  • The music from this old tune from Dylan is presented very well by the Hollies, thanks for the post....

  • The music from this old tune from Dylan is presented very well by the Hollies, thanks for the post....

  • The three of them are yummy! Terry's so cute too with that little crooked smile...Tony looks like a baby here...what a darlin! But my fave is and always will be Allan....so just awesome in EVERY way...Lynne xoxoxo AUSTIN,TEXAS

  • These girls have great voices. Loving the blouses..

  • wow brlliant!

  • oh Allen Allen...lol!!!

  • Oh..Tony Tony Tony.....mmmmmmmm : )

  • 1969 I remember that year. I got married. The Vietnam War was going on. The Hollies were so cool! But, I'm wondering why Tony keeps one foot on the ground--some sort of censorship, maybe?

  • Married or not, 64, etc, Tony was smokin' back then. So sexy.

  • What a fantastic cover of a Dylan song!

  • @davroseable From the album, "The Hollies Sing Dylan" - all very cool!

  • anyone know who did the faster upbeat version of this song

  • @thinkorthwim69 : Robert Palmer & UB40 upbeated it...

  • @songsterfly Thanks for that

  • I can't believe I'm 14 and I'm madly in love with Tony. *___*

    c: <3

  • @rockzsanders you know he's 64 right ?

  • I'm older, too. but sometimes that's all you got is your fantasies. THANKS HOLLIES

  • @rockzsanders you know he's 64 and he's been happily married for over 30 years right ?

  • @christianphi Indeed I do.

  • Comment removed

  • @christianphi no ones happily married for over 30 years.

  • @chathamsnob1 Nonsense.

  • great music-----I am glad I found this concert----I wish I could have seen these guys in concert---but I did get to see a few groups that were very good also---Led Zephen was one of the best I saw---went to it up in Seattle around 1970.

  • There is only one graham Nash, but the harmonies by Terry Sylvester on this are as good as you can get!!

  • To me Bob Dylan sounded like a dying animal

  • @treedawg20 what animal?

  • This kilo54 person obviously has no ears.

  • the harmonies are perfection

  • It's not stupid and it IS better than Dylan's.

  • @ladybluluv Not even close, Bob Dylans is Still The Best.

  • @kilo54 Nope...I think not

  • @ladybluluv , It's all subjective, but the original is usually the best and in my opinion it's the absolutely the best out there, Bob wrote it and sang it....al others are just covers and these guy's did a hack job on it as do others...

  • @kilo54 In adition they sound just like the Bee Gees.....

  • @ladybluluv In adition they sound just like the Bee Gees.....

  • @kilo54 never

  • Uh...this version is kinda "OKAY" but to say that it's BETTER than Dylan's? That's just stoopid.

  • Their harmonies are amazing...

and they are so very sexy to look at!!

  • My eternal gratitude to the camera operator for the close-ups on Allan's lovely face!!

  • You can all have Tony. Allan's having me ;)

  • @IBeGodly Hey...Not so fast!!!

  • That means I get Terry! He's my first pick any day!@IBeGodly

  • Tony can be my baby any night!

  • @ladybluluv sorry ladybluluv tony's a married man but hey keep hope alive.

  • Terry Sylvester does such a great job in replacing Graham Nash here a perfect match for Allan Clack & Tony Hicks great volcals.

  • I think Linda Rondstandt performed this Song better. Only a single mind from good old Germany. But i love this song.

    Greetings from Bavaria

  • listen to Kris Kristofferson and Rita Coolidge and you will change your mind about the best version

  • Love the voices and the harmonies. Allan can be my little baby any night!

  • Amazing harmonies. Love that harmonica solo too. I can watch this over and over... it's sweeeet.

I wish I could go back in time too. Tony looks SO yummy here : )

  • Sexiest harmonies and cutest doll-babies in the history of rock n' roll!♫

If I could only go back in time..

  • @faeryquene You are!

  • Best version I've heard of this song. It's wonderful!

  • There harmonies are soooo fantastic!!

  • The problem with this "concert" is that some tracks are live, some are partly live(live vocals) and some(like this song) are not live at all. When one fan wrote to the BBC(back in the 1960's), the BBC wrote back, explaining the less than live sound, by saying that "The new member(I.E. Terry Sylvester) is still unsure of the harmonies"

  • Tony is so adorable!

  • would love to be his "little baby tonight"!!!

  • 0:33....cute little tongue eh?

  • The harmony in this is flawless....my vocal heroes! And downright sexy to boot!

  • Poopaloo55, you can blow my piccallo!!

  • Hey, whats that mean? I hope nothing nasty? LOL Your so friggin BAD!!

  • A little bit naughty, but I guess I started it, didn't I?

  • Yes you did now that I read back!! LOL Trust me it dont take much to get him going!! LOL

That was a great line too by the way!! LOL

    Have A Great Day!!

  • Is this amazing show available on DVD??

  • My Mum in London just called the BBC for me...sadly the answer was 'no'. Thank goodness we can watch on you tube, eh?

  • For sure!! Thanks for investigating ;o) But then, where did nyrainbow4 find the show?? I wonder...

  • It was transmitted on BBC Four two years ago, I recorded it at the time :)

  • 얼마나 사랑스런 노래인지! 얼마나 사랑스런 청춘들인지! What a lovely song! What lovely men!

  • Yes...and yes!!

I can't reply in your language. It looks very pretty though!

  • My language had the same meanings as the English sentences I wrote next.

Anyway thank you for your interest.

Stay happy with the Hollies songs!

  • I love this performance, especially that closeup of ever-gorgeous Allan at the beginning! And when he points at 1:56 ... the stuff that dreams are made of!

  • You're right Vrinda, he's truly irresistable. That beautiful mouth and those eyes....too much!! Some of the harmonic chords in this song are perfection...way to go Terry!

  • It´s a shame it´s lip synched, but still good performance.

  • I love it when Allan plays Harmonica...and even when he doesn't!!!

In my next life I'm coming back as Allan Clarke's harmonica!!

  • Is there a harmonica ghost???

Alan is playing at the beginning and then later, but who is playing the other times? GREAT VIDEO, I LOVE IT

  • Wasn't it playback? Nottice that his voice doesn't seem to be alive too...hehehehe...Anyway the sound and the register is GREAT!!!!

  • I love the footage of this, especially the close ups but unfortunately this is lip synched. Its exactly the same as the studio recording. Shame :(

  • Wonderful, Fantastic, Rare...

    I loved this vídeo.

    Thank you for post!

  • 1:31....fantastic!
