at high speed you are traveling a lot of miles really fast, your tires build up heat much faster because of tire wall deformation, & the more forces on the tire the faster the tread wears out.

It's kind of just common sense... the faster you go the sooner your tires are going to wear out. If you take corners hard in your car, I guarantee your tires will wear out much faster than if you drive conservatively.

I am locked inside of the house for 2 days, rained out here. My gsxr (k7) is ready for some dry road. In the video the gsxr is (k6/k7) 600 and not 1000 as suggested. I have the same one. Don't know the other bike. It has single exhaust that could also be a 600 older bike. Sweet sound!

i have an R1 and a ZX10R. i will say that the GSXR is a good bike with a grate motor, but all out stright line speed in stock form is the ZX10. and as for the curves i love the feel of the R1 over anything else (600s included).

at the end of the day, the best rider will win. not always the best bike.

Hate to break it to you clone1974, but kawasaki has the mose power in the 600 class, and the liter class, and I am almost positive that the zx-14 has more power than the busa too. Kawasaki is known for their horsepower, I like gixxers too, but they are not the king you think they are. I ride with guys that have both, and the kawi has never lost a race yet.

Actually the gixxer does NOT have more power than kawi's 600. I was with my buddy when he dynoed his kawi at 113hp. The gixxer does not have that much. Like I said, I like gixxers as I used to have one, but I'm just being honest....

Well, I was referring to the 600 class. I don't know about the big dogs. The new ZX6 may not have more power now, but the 636 had the most in the class the whole time it was made. I ride a 1000rr now, so I am more than happy with the speed and power! I have a Jardine exhaust, power commander, BMC air filter, and a ton of cosmetic stuff. It is all the power and fun I need, and then some! =)

I haven't had the pleasure of riding an 1000RR yet, but i have rode a 600RR and 929RR and i loved them both, they handle so damn good and feel so comfortable too, but i got a deal on my 99R1 with 10k miles on it, brand new paint, exhaust, undertail for $3grand and almost as good a deal on my 04gsxr600... but now i am going to look around, well maybe next year for a 1000RR the 07 style...would like the 06 yellow and blue or a Repsol edition if i could, who knows though whatever is a good buy!

ya i would've thought so too, but in the testing the Busa still beat it by a couple tenths of a second or so with two professional riders in the quarter mile... they even said they are so close its just all up to the persons taste, i wouldnt buy either, but if i had to buy one i think the Busa looks better than the zx14

My buddies GSXR had a pipe, power commander, and a TRE. I pulled away from him ever time with easy. I only have Slip on Akrapvic. R1 held up a little better he was +1 tooth in the rear full exhaust and power commander.

When I moved from a 600 to a 1000, my insurance went up like $40/month. I do have speeding tickets though, but I tell every biker this, no matter what, go to State Farm for bike insurance, they were considerablly less than everyone else!

every dyno reading I have seen has te gixxer at the top.

The drag meetings I have attended also have the gixxer runnning low 10's to high 9 's sec passes in street trim.

These days nearly all the 1000cc bikes are leathal.
