  • Love the music..........

  • Also, in your opinion, what is the most useful automatic knife for EDC self defense use?

  • I am looking for an automatic knife for self defense and EDC use. I have narrowed my options to the Protech Godfather, and the Piranha Bodyguard. Which would you choose?

  • That knife is really Mafia like.

  • Nutnfancy you realize I'm on a public train watching that I was trying so hard not to laugh.

How how did I get there looking for you and buck knives

  • i have a ccw here in fl. so i can legally carry a gun or a switchblade, i'm planning on getting a godfather and a microtech scarab.

  • He said mud blood. Thumbs up for Harry Potter reference?

  • thats over 1000 bucks sitting on the table. To much money for a knife that has such little use

  • "Non-knife people think you're psychotic." Hahaha, I'm sure we all know that one all too well.

  • Dear Santa...

  • we call these "automatic knives" the police call them switchblades and they are illegal. i had one of these it was gray with black g-10 scales. i loved this knife. but as with most loves there is a price. mine got me arrested (no i wasn't carrying it" a huge fine and a bad mark on my record. serioudlyand they kept the knife. seriously folks the law reads that ANY knife that can be opened with one hand) by use of gravity or any type mechanism, can fall under the switchblade law.

  • I want this knife so bad but it's illegal in canada being an automatic

  • june 22nd, my birthday

  • very n1ce

  • could you do that video again in HD and better lighting? even so it looks cool but in daytime it would be awesome

  • Damn, that red one is amazing!

  • How sharp are they right out of the box?

  • That knife is an offer you can't refuse. Yes, I know, this was a very fail comment.

  • Please change the misleading title of this video.

  • @drdvc420 whats misleading about it?

  • @drdvc420 do you know what a fondling knife is?

  • I don't think I would want this in any tactical situation, seems like a straight up collector piece to me.

  • @Spectre426 If i was attacked by hordes of balloons, this would be my choice, perfect for poking latex hostiles.

  • wow nice blade < i'm totally sold . Haha I love how you put the Godfather theme musuc in the background. Bonacera Bonacera.

  • Hey nut!!! I just purchased the Pro Tech TR4, very sweet check it out, and give me your thoughts, THANKS

  • Maaan, this is illegal where I live.

  • Seems like a waste of money to me, unless you're a collector.

  • sexy knife

  • how long will the springs last in these godfathers?

  • idk if theres a point to getting a knife thats specifically made for stabbing. any knife can do that lol; but most other knifes have other uses as well. not a real pracitical knife

  • "i'm a sick man" xD!

  • i'd rather have benchmade's 9052

  • Is this considered a switch blade?

  • Beautiful piece. Looking forward to receiving the one I just ordered. Had to have one after watching this. I must be sick, too, because I ordered a Microtech Combat Troodon also...

  • lol looks like my CS ti-lite

  • The black tactical one, is that one different from others, such as it's more stronger or can be use to slahsing, ?

  • What's your likeability for this knife ?

  • it would be so G if they used that in mob flims

  • Whats with all these comments i hear?.. "You get what you pay for" and "Whats a hundred bucks in this day in age"... Sounds like the dopy folks who try and justify their Tom Brown Trackers... Sorry folks... 154cm is not in the same league as S30v... For the price of this Emerson you can buy a Ti frame lock Military, or a ZT302 Strider/Onion... Both FAR SUPERIOR KNIVES in every way.. On top of that Customer service sucks ass... Get over it, YOU BOUGHT A NAME and came up SHORT.

  • Once upon a time, Benchmade collaborated with Boguszewski and produced

"the Spike"... They are kind of difficult to find noadays... But the blade was very similar to the Godfather except it was full holllow ground from top to bottom.... A reminder to get the knives that realy speak to you when they are still widely available and not priced as "Collectibles".

  • awesome lookin knife. love that handle

  • 200 reasonable for this knife

  • wow nutn has changed since the beginning no offense but he really sounds scripted here nothing at all like the the current

  • @nhblackdc5 I agree, I think he's gotten a lot more comfortable and confident just talking in his videos. But 600 videos will do that. ;) -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • @nutnfancy

    600 vids! Nutn's the man.

  • @nutnfancy Feels like he's also got used to his standardised reviewing list which must help. If you're following a list like that and you've done hundreds of them I'm sure it would begin to feel normal to anyone. :)

Gotta say they do make for consistent, helpful reviews which is nice.

    Keep it up TNP!

  • @nhblackdc5 While he does sound a bit lethargic compared some of his other vids, I think it's because he only has so much enthusiasm towards a knife like this. He seems to get more pumped up about something he is interested in (aren't we all?), any of the current vids show this great!

  • it looks awesome.

  • Personaly I Never Fing The Deployment Button To Be Confused With The Pivot Screw

  • i like your reviews but i'm still not too sure you have any idea what I.E is used for

  • i like how he has the godfather music playing in the background

  • I'd really like to see more of these kinda personal reviews. I can hear that Nutn reaaaally loves these.

  • nice godfather in the background.

you seem to be talking slower than usual. and the picture is kind of yelloish

  • What happened to nutn's ratings???

  • beautiful, but I can see fingers sliding up that blade and wish it had a guard

  • Cool knife. Nutnfancy never disappoints.

  • Anyone know of any online sites that will ship this to Hawaii (a state where automatics are illegal)?

  • i love this knife

    nice music very suiting

  • Luca Brazzi's favorite for meal preparation.

  • I want one real bad but i live in canada : (

  • lol godfather music in the backround

  • @btwistwill I know right lol

  • Sick knife!

  • You'd enjoy the Kershaw OD One. It's a torsion bar flipper design but the blade is a nice needle point out of box

  • i love how 4 this specific blade he puts the Godfather theme in the background heheheh

  • i need a big knife for hunting. All we have here are russian and Chinese knifes and guns.

  • stabbing......if you will

    freaking classic.....i love this dude!!!

  • not tactical????

  • I'd sport the red or black one.

  • Hahahha.. I burst out laughing when he pulled out 3rd one... and then when I saw 4th, I was amazed :).

Nutn, you da man!!! Beautiful knives all around.

  • why can't he do a review on a benchmade 42?

  • He's not a big fan of balisongs. Their deployment in unconventional, even if the design is strong. It's not tactical.

  • Once you practice it can be a very quick deployment, and they can also be tactical. A bigger problem is legality.

  • No, if you're on the ground and someone is going for your gun, you're not going to be able to quickly or safely get your knife open, with an auto you can be in the dark fiddle around with you knife, and all you need is the push of one button. With modern knives, balisongs are a stupid tactical choice.

I flip and carry a balisong, but it's still not a very good choice of tactical/self defense knife.

In a controlled setting it can be as fast as an auto, but not in a stressful condition.

  • He might not be into balisongs.

  • Thanks for the review.Dig the music man.

  • ABSOLUTELY SEXY!!!!!!!!!!

  • i normaly find it now for between 150 and 200 dollars... knife with only 1 use but definataly good at it

  • Those knives on the table look like they're moving 200mph

  • hey nutn you should send one of those this way

  • beautiful! it does look like a letter opener xD

  • It would be a good letter opener :)

  • I like the background music =D

  • It's a great knife, I have one, it's great if you want to give a good hello stab in the middle of a robbers ribs.

  • Nice review guy. I have an original first production model from back in 2000 with the G-10 handles. The knife has never been carried or used for anything because in my opinion the point is way to fragile. when the folks at Pro Tech designed this knife they should have left a little more meat on the blade all the way down but instead they concentrated so hard on giving the knife such a needle point they edned up with a blade thats literally paper thin.

  • seems like an expensive letter opener but a kickass one at that

  • cost to much!!!!!

  • love the music in background

  • i like the red one and the last one the most. you willing to sell one?

  • "Non-knife people think you are psychotic"

    Ain't that the truth!

  • wow are those all yours?

  • Maybe figure out a way to paint the thumb stud so you wouldn't get confused as easily...? Is this even possible?

  • I'm adding this to my wish list. Thanks for introducing me to new blades.

  • NICE. Nice choice of auto. Price is justified.

  • You should make a video whre you show all your knives! if you havent already made one ofcourse..

  • Thats knife is by far the coolest one i've seen you review nutnfancy. that blade is just beautiful.

  • Lol and is that god father music playing in the bg?

  • duh

  • I tried to get one of these. Failed. :(

  • Nice soundtrack choice. Beautiful blades. I wouldn't say you're a sick man. Maybe a very lucky (and tasteful) one but not sick. hehe If I were LEO or MIL I'd already have four of them too. There are some at the Blade Shop that I'm seriously drooling over. They have a Godson with Tiger Coral scales/Damascus and a Godfather with MOP and they both just kill me. Keep up the good work!

  • this is torture watching this...I'm canadian...so I'm unaware of anyway getting my hands on this knife

  • Online ordering, like through ebay or amazon, I'm in Canada too.

Also, nutnfancy, I love the background music.

  • Yeah, but auto blades are illegal in Canada...

  • Check to see if its illegal to own, or just illegal to carry, most places around the world including most US states are opposed to carrying switchblades, but not collecting.

  • thanks bud

  • I think that switchblade law we have here in Canada is a stupid law... I really don't get it, a knife is just a knife... manual of automatic... they'll both come out just as fast... and its not like autos are more deadly...

  • i totally agree .. of course i would always abide by laws but it really sucks we cant get cool knives like this... we can't carry balisongs as well.. THAT is a retarded law.. to open a balisong takes a WHILE and any kind of retard that sticks around while you are flipping it opened is clearly messed up .. they have that much time to get away.. anywyas if sum1 pulled one of these autos on me.. i know i wouldnt be any more affraid of these as i would a folding knife or balisong .

  • A balisong would take at least a few seconds to open, any manual folder will open faster. I think they banned balisongs because its "ninja" and "scary." A knife that takes 5 seconds to open is not scary compared to any other manual. Non-junk autos are EXPENSIVE, no scumbag criminal will threaten you with a $200+ knife. So many stupid laws out there... especially in Canada... balisongs, automatic knives, nunchucku, morning stars?! Nobody is going to walk around carrying a morning star!

  • i couldnt agree more man

  • Not ne necessarily, if you are any good with a quick draw a balisong can be out just as fast as an auto if not a tiny bit faster. (no button hunting)

  • not a supporter of the weird canadian law that favors criminal. ban on certain type of weapon is due to it being use in crime before. so some crazy dude in Canada long time ago was being a menace to society with nunchucks and ninja stars and obviously butterfly knifes. make the weapon ban up here slightly more interesting

  • @mlcz1995 I know plenty of people in Canada and other places like the UK that cary knifes illegally but are nonetheless law abiding citizens I guess its just how far you're willing to go when it comes to laws...

  • @mlcz1995 I guess its kind of like how in Canada (because of the very very low crime rate) owning a gun for protection is not seen as a valid reason to own 1 but owning 1 for purposes such as hunting is a valid reason but in if someone break into you're house and you take action it is by no means against the law to use said gun for defense/protection

  • @mlcz1995 maybe for you can open my in under a second nut its a one handed

  • 3:11

Than why dont you marry it.

    If you dont i will.

  • hahaha i love the background music :)

  • got mine for 150

  • isnt the ti-lite better than this knife. dont you think so nutnfancy. please advise, im thinking of buying a knife a folding one, however im not sure which one to buy. nutnfancy could you please recommend a folding knife which can slash and stab. basically a slashing weapon for self defense, cos i dont wanna kill somebody, just maim them. by the way good review on the ti-lite

  • Watch his videos and maybe you'll find one you like.

  • Too bad spring knives are illegal here in Norway

  • I just don't see why you're so ga-ga over them, nutn. I feel you on most of the knife reviews you do. But you know what dude? I love you like a brother, so I gave you 5 stars just because as far as your review skills go, this was an awesome review. I'm sticking to the functional knives though.

  • Ultimate FONDLING Knife: ProTech Godfather?

  • godfather music for godfather knife lol, nice theme

  • Damn, to think NY bans these kinds of blades, I'm an Italian without a switchblade! What kind of existence is that!

    Sal

  • Not one worth living, that's for sure! Hah, I jest.

And don't feel bad. I live in Wisconsin. They ban concealing ANY weapon as well as open carry. And I'm moving to Banifornia soon for medical school. They ban EVERYTHING except illegal immigration and abusing the Welfare system. And guess what? They're bankrupt now. Serves 'em right.

  • Well, I don't think they deserve to be bankrupt, but as Americans we certainly have the right to any weapon we want to carry or own, in my opinion. With guns, I do believe that their should be SOME restrictions, ( To those that aren't responsible, that is) but blades I don't see a big deal.

NY banned switch blades mostly because of early gang life, if you were in a gang you had a switchblade, so they try and ban the image altogether. Sucks, but what'cha gonna do, right?

    Hmm...

  • There's no need for an auto knife with all the good assisted-opening designs on the market. Nutnfancy basically confirms that in so many of his reviews.

If you really feel you HAVE to own a switchblade, ask yourself if you're interested in your safety and security, or just in the image that a switchblade carries with it?

  • That is where you're wrong!

No really, I was just kidding, it was all a joke.

    Banning weapons it distasteful.

And I have nerve damage on my right hand from a cold steel kukri(Thank god I'm young, or else I may not have recovered as well as I did), so with some knives, it is difficult to flick them open with the use of a thumb stud, so a switch blade may be advantageous.

I don't think so, though... typically it depends on the design.

  • michigan bans the switchblade to, bullshit!!!!

  • I know. :(

I mean, even if the blade is legal, they can still probably get you on some charges.

Here on NY, if the blade looks "Scary", you can be charged, basically if the knife intimidates people they have the right to say, "Well he was hurt someone".

    Also bullshit...

  • red one is a beautiful

  • Oh man... Lovely...

  • So that's what a $1100 looks like?

  • i thought it would be made of gold

  • Nice touch with the music. I see you are a friend of ours. I must tell you, I appreciate your reviews. I need you to use all of your powers to make many more videos in the future. I can not let my friends see these items like this reviewed by anyone else.

  • oh wow lol, got enough of those Nutnfancy? You are the man my friend... those are pretty nice.

  • beautyful combat knife;) what do you think about mine?

  • wheeeey overpriced...

  • thats not an auto knife, call it what it is, an honest to goodness switchblade.

  • Switchblade falls under the catigory of an automatic gun. Like a machine gun is automatic, its just pretty obvious so no body needs to say it.

  • Oh god, i had that once. the tip broke right off. but while i had it, it was SICK

  • you said "tactical" 10 times in this review. Perhaps you are overusing the term, and should consult a thesaurus to find a synonym.

  • benchmade infidel is better to me

  • how many knives do you possess? and how much is the total you have paid for them since you started collecting. I just recently started getting into knife collecting, and I'm pretty interested in buying my uncles godfather to start it off.

  • great review mate. I bought mine last week and am awaiting it in the post.Mines the tactical black version. They are not legal here though, but I got my Microtech makora II throgh customs no problem. God bless American Auto knife makers..By far the best. I also have an Italian stiletto , acylic white with a Damascus blade which is very cool. .

  • Sorry, I have a second question. What is the purpose of the little notch at the start of the blade?

  • sharping

  • ? I'm sorry. Do you have more information?

  • bleh sharpining

  • My Godfather isn't stamped with steel type. Is that common on the non-collectible versions? I purchased my knife from an authorized dealer.

  • I like the music in the background =p

  • rofl nice background music

  • there awesome but still 4, how much did you pay for ea? great review by the way

  • wow verry stylish

  • Quick comment, great vid but I would recommend setting the White Balance setting on your camera to a fixed setting. The yellowing of the video you see is the auto-White Balance changing and getting the wrong balance, probably due to the unusual blade color and reflection coming off of it.

  • Yeppers. I figured that out as well. You'll see that my subsequent videos to this one have the white balance fixed.

  • LOL, you crack me up nutnfancy. Awesome review as usual!

  • Sweet knife! I have a question.. I've been looking at protech for a while now.. I'm thinking about buying a runt 2.. When you go to close the blade do you have to push the deployment butten or can u just push the blade down? A bit of a stupid question, but im wondering thanks!

  • Push thee button.

  • Yeah man...you are sick! Awesome knives and awesome review. Keep em coming.

I can't believe you have FOUR OF THEM!

  • I think all stabbing knives should have quillons

  • I think it is indeed a good safety feature to have. Thanks doggie.

  • I have a question. What does the 150 cm mean?

  • its 154CM. It's a type of blade steel these knives are made of.

  • rofl! 4 of them i didnt see that coming, u are sick

  • Anytime you don't pull out any less than four variations of any one model is not a knife I'll be investing in. ;)

  • i am sick man LOL nice video

  • Love the godfather music in the background. Good review.

  • that is a beautiful knife. Keep up the great videos!!!
