@cop515 cougars make a huge impact on the population of wildlife and livestock. plus they also pose a threat to the safety of people. these big cats are a neat part of nature, but i'd rather have my family and property safe. the only way to effectively control the population of cougars is by the use of dogs, otherwise, you don't have much of a chance of seeing them, unless they are unafraid and/or about to attack, and by then it's too late.
@ghag17 you're an idiot. they don't "pose a threat" to people unless they're disturbed by morons like you who use dogs and firearms to murder these animals. fun fact: these animals are more afraid than you, than you are of them. they rarely attack humans unless provoked.
@daveyoize do you happen to live anywhere near cougars? cause your comment sounds like one gathered from a textbook, not personal experience. i live very close to these creatures, and have heard of, and personally experienced, many attacks and close calls. i'd like you to come out to where i live, take a spotlight, and go sit near our horses tonight, and still tell me that textbook comment when the cougar makes no distinction between attacking you or our horses.
I beg to differ - but then that is why we all have freedom of choice. :) Awesome video - even though I have one in my Trophy Room I am in awe of the great cats and glad that most Western States have game management programs that ensure mountain lion populations and also allow limited hunting opportunities - Thanks for positng this video on YOUTUBE, A+
I live in north denver on by I-70 and I-25 and a mountain lion was hit by a car down here! and last summer i saw a mountain lion in the hood! no joke, it was on 38th and lipan street! my hand to god it was amazing!
Was the mountian lion just imprinted in the hood? or was the actually cat in the hood? Cause I wouldn't call it amazing to see a dead mountain lion around I-70 and I -25.... especially that far down form the mountains.
What you mean that ain't amazing the cat was in the northside! The cats are coming down to the city that's crazy and not the hood of a car I mean neighborhood
I'm not saying that the cats aren't amazing themselves. I personally think mountain lions are awesome. But to see it down in town probably isn't a good thing, especially dead.
There were two cats the dead one was found on i70 and i25 and the one that was alive and walking was on 38th ave. I read about the dead one in the paper. I saw live one with my own eyes just 3 min from downtown the fact that the cat made it down that far unnoticed is amazing in itself. I'm just a foo from the hood that saw a moutain lion in the city I think that's dope
Actually the mountain lions were there long before the white man was. The cats are just reclaiming lost hunting grounds. After all the Cougar was once in every state of the union not just in the american west.
I'm sorry, I don't see where any stated anything about who was there first. I'm just stating that a mountain lion at I70 and I25 is not only dangerous for people in that area, but also bad for the cat, seeing as how it was found dead. I don't like hearing about dead mountain lions.
beautiful! thank you for the video. Lets help preserve such a beautiful animal so that other generations can be fortunate like you to see them...imagine such a graceful beautiful majestic animal in the USA without these animals here we would only be able to see them in the National Geography Channel or travel to Africa.
Beautiful to see... at a distance. Wonder if it is the same lion that killed a friend's dog in Evergreen Highlands. My son spent the night camping with his friend on their trampoline and three huskies underneath. Seemed okay. Less than 24 hours later, the older son drove home & parked. As he walked to the house, one dog ran past (a few feet away), then lion, then two dogs. Lion ate dog while others barked and watched. No more kids camping in yard. Yeah, lions were here first, blah, blah blah.
Such clear sightings are very rare and even rarer to catch on video. You are fortunate indeed. Congratulations! I saw one the other day but it was out of view before I could get my camera out. Thanks for sharing this!
