@SuperNolanator yes, there are ways of making jeeps street legal. But you need to define what you mean by "street legal". Do you want a car that you can drive anywhere whenever you want? This would go under regular vehicle registration/insurance and you would need turn signals brake lights, mirrors, seat belts and a few other safety requirements. However if you register and insure it as an antique vehicle, there is no need for turn signals, mirrors, seat belts...etc. Cont. on part 2
@SuperNolanator part 2. Adding turn signals isnt all that difficult, just buy an old turn signal kit (i got 3 sitting in the basement). Mirrors are easy to add. Seat belts are questionable. The standard M38 already has one brake light. It wouldnt be hard to add another to the other side. I register and insure mine as an antique but you are limited to where you can drive. For example, you can only drive to and from shops, parades, and vehicle shows. Hope this answers your question.
