This was his signature song when he first came on the scene in the 1970s.... when I saw his show live, his guitarist was Daryl Stuermer (Genesis) and bassist was Tom Fowler (Frank Zappa) and they all did a memorable rendition of New Country. JLP always had fabulous accompaniment for his live shows.
