Since my dad's passing I was always curious of his brother's place of rest knowing that he was killed in Italy during WWII. Thanks to the internet I found a wealth of info including this place where my uncle is resting. This video gives a good grasp of this spot in which one day I will visit.
some of the 415 crew that died on the HMS Penelope are buried here im sure my grandad would have loved to go when he was alive to visit he lost many friends on the 18th of febuary 1944 between naples and anzio great video and music RIP to the crew of the HMS Penelope and all buried here all brave soldiers
thanks for that as we spent 1 hr driving round and round and couldnt find it! Stunning view from monastry and impossible to think what fighting on that hill must have been like. Nice to see that someone is still caring for those that did.
thank you .. my dad is one of the last living soldiers that served in Normandy on DDAY......he was with the naval medics attached to the army

They lost two solders
Sapper A G Gould 9 4 1945
Sapper A D Tranmer 9 4 1945
Both Sappers were in 163 Railway Workshops
