Give like Santa; Save like Scrooge. I miss those commercials. I hate Christmas. Yeah yeah bah bumhug. But I looked forward to these goofy commercials. Scrooge was my kind of guy.

The best commercials. The 80's was full of creative thinking with great commercials, shows and music. This commercial remind me of how excited we would get over the coming Christmas season. I was only 12 but it seems like yesterday.

@bullsleafs, I know what you mean. For me seeing this commercial marked the begining of the Christmas season. The good old days, back when the Christmas season didn't start a week before Halloween.

I remember this commercial well. It's too bad CT gave up the "Give like Santa, save like Scrooge" slogan, it was one of the best ever.

I associate scrooge with this actor, I cant watch a scrooge film without feeling that is not Scrooge.

That Santa's right about Scrooge; he's truly a good man! I always liked the jingle at the end. It's so 80's Christmasy!

I don't recall the actor's name who played Scrooge but he became a mini-celebrity. I remember an article a newspaper did on him with an interview.

Why did they stop this ad campaign? It's timeless.

@Canadiantalentshines The "Scrooge" actor was a regular on the Wayne & Shuster show. He used to be in many skits, along with the lady who played "Miss Penelope" in the Lottario/Lotto 649 commercials.
