  • Hi Buddy, I have a 93 ford Truck E-350 1 Ton Econoline - Van and something happened with the transmission (automatic), full fluid level its OK but when into 1 and 2 .... the truck runs good but for 3rd and 4th the RPMs go up and up (foot on gas accelerating), but the truck doesn't speed up .... i'm stuck on 1st and 2nd...

    -Solenoid problem ?

    -Should I reset by disconnecting battery ?

    -No OD light flashes in dashboard.

    -No ''CHECK ENGINE'' light.

  • @djlaiguana1 Thanks for your question. This symptom could be one of multiple problems. The first thing that comes to mind is a broken servo snap ring, which is fixable in the vehicle. Next is direct clutch burn up. This is not good and would require a transmission overhaul. Bad solenoids could also be a possiblility, but not common. I

    would need to see the vehicle at our shop to correctly diagnose it.

  • First, make sure you've inspected your transmission fluid- for correct level and color- as detailed on this video. Your thought is correct, the speed sensor can be a culprit and often causes inaccurate shifting. Other elements can be at play though, and the best solution is to bring your vehicle into TNS Transmissions LLC, to conduct a full diagnostic. Continued driving will eventually cause a total failure, towing, or worse.

  • hi, my car is VW Golf GL 1999 with auto transmission. The transmission takes long time to shift from 2nd to third, or 3rd to fourth, even when the rpm is more than 3000. What could be the problem? is it about to die as one of my friends suggested, or is it merely a sensor problem? And what's the consequences if I keep driving the car like this without fixing the problem? Thanks in advance for the answer!

  • Thanks for your question. It would be best for you to contact TNS transmissions, by phone, their website, or you can join their Facebook page. If you live in the area, you can visit TNS Transmissions, in person. Light brown indicates the fluid is old or worn, and a fluid change may be appropriate. Fluid that looks like cherry soda indicates "new" or "good" condition. Your light brown fluid may operate fine for months though. Contact the experts at TNS for the best recommendations.

  • I recently bought a car with 112k miles it shifts smooth and runs great but I notice my transmission fluid is light brown. Does this mean the fluid needs to be changed or there is something wrong?
