The extent of his overseas experience is USO tours? Where he told jokes? I like Al, and certainly he's not the first entertainer to run for Senate, but this is less experience than Clinton or Obama. I simply find his experience overseas to be slightly questionable.
Just going to that part of the world once carries a certain level of risk. Al Franken went 4 times. Just being there and seeing what's going on with your own eyes has to be quite an experience. I'm sure that has him fairly fired up to take action on the war.
I'm for Al,just like i was for Paul, just like i was in a ditch with Cindy, and i was there as a little boy waving at JFK,mins before he feel. The torch, that burns with two flames, truth and justice, waits, waits, waits, who is worthy.
Mr. Franklin is one of the brightest and most honest men out there. The country would be well-served by having him in the senate. Imagine, an articulate man with a Harvard education when we currently have a president who can't properly form a sentence. Hmmmm
This commercial makes me physically sick. This ad is so insipid that the whole thing seems like a poorly done joke, like his horrible, chronically unfunny SNL sketches.
If he comes out with another commercial following the example of this one,
I expect that it will just feature shots of cute kittens playing with balls of string, ending with a shot of him picking up one of the kittens, snuggling it, and saying that he'll fight for cute kittens' rights if elected.
I hope that "Mrs.Molin" did not refer to Air America as "public policy". It WAS more like Communism with bad jokes, and it failed, just like Franken will.
Franken's show was quite successful and was the best political commentary show on the air. Of course it was targeted to a better educated demographic than the one you belong to.
I am thinking of moving to Minnesota to vote for this great patriot....in the spirit of Paul Welstone, what a wonderful addition to the US Senate, braINS, HEART AND A sense OF HUMOR AND REALITY...Thanks Al for all your good will!
Al has gone from a 20-point deficit to a statistical dead heat with Coleman in less than a year. The more Minnesotans see of him, the more they realize what a genuinely good (and smart) guy he is.
i'm so excited to see al win in minnesota! i'm from florida and my democratic senator is more of a repub than bush! i can't wait for al to give those repubs and fake democrats hell in the senate. booyah bill ho'rielly!!!
The only thing I think they should change is mention that Al Franken was part of the ORIGINAL cast of writers for SNL in the 70's... a lot of people think he joined the show during the somewhat low-quality 80's period of SNL, because that's when he started appearing in front of the camera more often.
This is a much better ad than the other one "I'm Running." Hopefully this one gets more air time, and they make more like this one that really show his strengths and qualifications, while being very likeable.
This is a great commercial. I wish I had her back in grade school!. Best of all, the commercial has just enough of his wry sense of humor. Like me, who else would be willing to pay admission to hear Franken unload on the Republicans on the floor of the Senate? Just imagine the fun!
i hope he wins because the republican running against him is a corporate scumbag! al is for the people not just from minnesota but for the whole country. he won't sell us regular people out like the republican bastards have the last 8 years.
Great ad. Sensational. Very effective.

Franklin was one of the brightest and most honest men in our political history.
Franken, is not.
You cannot make fun of our current President for his inability to form a sentence when you cannot even get the name of the man you support correct.
Franklin?
Hmmm. Maybe college SHOULD be more affordable and perhaps Franken is on to something.

Come on. It wasn't that bad. I thought the 3 am phone call add by clinton was a lot worse.

Also, I've found that the more Minnesotans learn about Coleman, the more they can't wait to kick him to the curb.

you gotta love that "hippie democrat" pic of him from his younger years. Franken seems so much more straight forward

Glad to see Franken can still do comedy after years away from the spotlight.
What? He really is running? Yikes, hope he does not get his hopes up.

Even if we don't see eye to eye on gay marriage there's no denying that he believes in family values.

Why exactly would same-sex marriages or support for expanding a basic civil right to homosexuals, conflict with family values?
