  • hahaha, he, is like push the window down u morron, wanna climb in... haha awesome

  • RIP Leo. Too bad my Goldie and you could not be friends. Would have been around the same age.

  • lol. nevermore, remastered in color!

  • Leo is obviously patient with his pet humans. Note how he repeats the command to open the window several times until finally they perform the desired behavior.

  • @shatros LOL, he trained us to do so much, too. Despite how dense we can sometimes be.

  • @shatros hahahahha

  • aww so cute hahaha

  • Press 5.; Leo starts dancin'.: :)

  • KippTheKidd- Did Leo have a mate?

  • My sun Kiwi will be a year old in June, is he still young enough to learn to fly outside?

  • @itonamichan Maybe. You should decide for yourself - it is MOST important to read as much as you can about it - check out Chris Biro's site and videos on freeflight birds.

  • @KippTheKidd Alright, thanks. I'll do that.

  • Parrots are warm country birds. Especially the african lovebirds and other tiny paraqueet varieties. Never a good idea to expose them to snow and in cold countries they NEVER survive the cold unless they are kept in a warm room. Please take care of these birds. they are the Creator's little angels and please don't subject them to extreme cold conditions.

  • @angelialvares Uh, thanks for the advice...?

  • i think that house is on wheels

  • @pissedoffhumanbeing Haha, it's not. It's a 4-bedroom. Although, I once lived in a huge 5-bedroom mobile home! My next house will be a big RV.

  • @MorgiesLuv Please be careful. It takes lots of training. I raised and trained Leo from about 2 weeks old - older birds don't learn as well. Chris Biro has a Yahoo group and thepiratesparrot site - you should check it out before considering training your bird for the outdoors.

  • it look to me like he preffered being indoor.

  • @thermiscira He was out for about an hour, eating apples from our tree. He knows that when he knocks on the window, he gets to come inside. I have another video where I was recording just as he landed on the window, then he climbed in my shirt!

  • @KippTheKidd awwws i love parrots, conures especially.im sorry if i offened you before,it wasent my intetion.i can see you really loved him.

  • @KippTheKidd wait... yo let him outall alone!?!?!?!?! that's like suicide for a bird!!!!!!!!!!

  • @warofthewalruses Suicide? How do you explain the millions of wild birds that already live outside?

  • @KippTheKidd i mean, he is just too precious to let outside alone!! he might fly away, or get attacked by a hawk, since he is so noticeable!!!!!!

  • Somehow "quoth the sun conure" just doesn't work as well as "quoth the raven."

  • @dixievfd55 Somehow I think you're the first person who even got it :P Now I think I need to write a parallel poem as sappy as Poe is dark.

  • @KippTheKidd I had to read that poem as a kid. Personally, I prefer Tolkien. :)

  • lol this is so cute :) how much do sun conures cost?

  • @SMSKS3000 It depends on where and when you buy. Leo cost $225 because I bought him just after he hatched. A hand-raised, weaned bird costs around $350 from a breeder and maybe $500 from a pet store. The younger the bird, the harder it is to raise, but the better bird you get. Older birds don't bond as well.

  • LOL

  • Do you leave the door open for leo to come out?

  • @starpowergo Sometimes the door is open. Sometimes we throw him at the fruit trees and shut the door if he's being too loud. He gets some healthy fruits and berries and we get some peace and quiet. He knocks on the window when he's done eating, haha.

  • How did you teach Leo to be free-flight? I work all day plus there are heaps of cats around so I would never leave my Phoenix alone, but the idea of taking Phoenix outside for a fly, so he can work his wings, play and have fun being a bird is something I want to know.

  • he was a sweet heART...we will miss him:(

  • I just LOVE tha tlook the ygive you when you do something in front of their face. :')

  • aw♥

  • I have a green cheek conure and I really want him to be a free-flighted bird like Leo. However he had his wings clipped (they're growing back slowly though), but he's also still scared of flying mostly because he doesn't know what it is or how to do it. Any reccomendations? And on training him with obedience and "come here"?

  • @asianmarshmellow I wouldn't try it personally - you need to start with a much younger bird. Young birds pick up flight skills that are almost impossible for an adult to learn, and the bond with a young bird will be much better. There are people who have done it though... if you still want to try it, read as much as you can - on thepiratesparrot web site.

  • @asianmarshmellow

I found this - it may help you but if a bird freaks out somehow, I wouldn't recommend it. Besides, the bird has to trust you a lot.

  • Ohhhhh... I MISS MY TINNY!!!!!!!!

  • OH NO!!!! Leo died???!!!!

  • leo is so cute poor thing he died

  • so sorry that Leo died!!! He's a cutie!! May he rest in peace!!!

  • Who's that knocking, knocking at my chamber door?

    Poor little guy.

  • Poor Leo!

  • LOL

  • Hehe, my Green cheeked knocks the same way.

  • I love Leo's videos!

  • hey it was cute at first but, he was getting scared :(

  • no he wasnt lol if leo hated it he wouldnt continue to be so loyal till his last day

  • Ohhh I know how! he loves you guys.

  • how does he not fly away?!?!?!?!?!?!?

  • ölürüm ben buna :)

  • is the parrot is knocking the window he wants to get inside

  • wow that is amaaing he free flighted and alwayss comes backkk wooooahhh im relli amazed!!! that wiked!! :o :O

  • Comment removed

  • OMG he knows how to knock!!

  • dude....thats a little long to mess with him

  • so let him in already!!!!!1

  • i think it's kool he's like a country cat, takes care of himself out side all day, but aren't you scared someone might try to steal him? he's super friendly with strangers, right?

  • He hates strangers, especially in the house. Of all our animals, he is most likely to fight off a burglar.

We live in the middle of nowhere though -- there isn't anyone around.

  • that's good! but then i thought of something else. what if a red-tailed hawk or Parigrin Falcon or something swoops down on him? or maybe an owl or cat or some predator?

  • Blah Blah Blah. Kipp has said it many times... He's Trained the Bird to watch the sky's and hide when he sees a bird soaring instead of flapping. It's very unlikely for a bird to die this way, compared to the many other possibilities.

  • you know you're right and he died randomly, right? and when he died, his owner said he HAD figured a predator would get him eventually. but he died randomly, in his cage. they think it might have been pneumonia. you think it was maybe something he cought outside!? he wasn't old!

    poor leo.. i miss him.

  • You have no idea what you're talking about.

  • oh. i'm sorry.

what am i talking about that you don't like?

  • Sorry, I thought you were suggesting that he shouldn't have been outside.

  • i still like the idea of a free-flighted parrot, but i wouldn't leave someone as cute and intelligent as a 4-year-old alone out there. but it's not of my business.

anyway, what DID he die of?

  • they think leo died of pneumonia ( i have no idea how to spell it )

  • ;__; poor little guy.. i miss him. and i never met him.

  • @snager80 Free flighted, properly tamed, trained and supervised are great. I wouldn't leave them outside though while I was indoors. I've known of a few parrots being either successfully ripped from their owners by predator birds (quite unfortunately), or narrowly escaping them while the owner tried blocking the predator birds with their bodies. Specially with the smaller species...they're easy to spot prey that don't know about the dangers out there.

  • Leo is very smart and lovable. But if you keep letting him outside, eventually he may become a memory. Please consider this message. Peace.

  • Does Leo fly around free during the day by himself and then comes home when he feels like it? If that is true I am amazed.

  • cute check out my cockatiel on my channel

  • he is so beautiful!

have you thought about making him MATE? o.O :]

id love to see baby leos XD

  • please tell us how you trained him not to fly away? hehe

  • I love Leo's parrot videos. I get to go outside too when it's warm out.

  • My Ernie taps on everything for no good reason, other than hearing the tapping sound. In the mornings his cage is covered & he starts tapping on it so that we know he's awake & to get him outta the cage.

  • yay leos back! =)

  • Glad you're back! Sunny our sun conure like to watch sun conure videos together. Do you clip Leo's claws or have a vet do it for you?

Does he ever attack things? There are a few things things our bird attacks even though we have tried to get her used to them. If the item is in view she tries to bite us. We end up having to hide things.

  • i just got a 4 month old sun named mango and he was only 150.

    btw this video is cute!!!!

  • Yaaayyy!!! I missed Leo!!!

    how old is he now?!

  • Leo will be 3 in November.

  • yay!! Finally another leo video I missed him!! He's so adorable!

  • i love Leo. I still can't get over/figure out how he does not just fly away. what a personality he has ! tell me the secret!

  • i want to know the secret too!

  • you have got such a beautiful bird! well cared for and loved!! we need more people like you

  • wow, you let your bird out and he wouldn't fly away?(lost)?

  • they take him camping too

  • OMG thats cute, hahahahahaha!!!

  • yaaaaah! leo came in!

i would never let him out again!

  • Leo is Freaken AWSOME

  • cute video, i have a sun conure too.

he dose the same thing when he sits in the window:]

  • ur birds sooo awesum!:) how did u teach him 2 do dat?

  • He did it on his own.

  • how much would a sun conure cost at a pet store compared to a breeder?

  • Usually $500 at the store. Maybe $400 from a breeder. Leo was about $250, but it was because I got him so young (I had all the equipment).

  • Woudln't babys be more expensive?

  • Raising a baby is part of the cost to a breeder. If they can make a sale without having to invest all that time (and food, and possibly medication), they're often willing to lower the price.

  • Haha, "Let me in, damnit!" I wish I had the know-how to teach my bird to be free flight. That's pretty amazing. Great video.

  • such a smart bird ^-^

  • that is so funny :-) I love your bird!

  • very good ive always wanted a moulican i need ure advice im not home that often every day should i still get one kip?

  • nope. They get lonely and resentful if they don't get lots of your attention, especially when they're young.

  • smart bird u got there hes using his beak to make his owners open the door for him!(first comment)
