  • the last unique band

  • Gotta love Billy. I was one of the 25 people to win Machina II from radio staion Q101. it was the 2-CD set. Too bad they're no longer with us. :-( This was many years ago, maybe around 9/11, hell I don't know. Anyway, I was at work, called in to the radio 1station and won it! Sweet! I was off the chain excited to win that. I like In My Body first, Saturnine second and Dross as my top favs.

Thanks for posting and including lyrics.

  • @trulucy It was released much earlier, i think the summer of 2000

  • One of the best Pumpkins songs

  • thnx !

  • It seems that the songs of many bands that didn't make it on the album often are better than the ones that did...or is it just me?

  • _

Bailaran tus ideas sin imaginacion ,

retorna a tu esencia original si aun no has caidO '

  • fucking amazing...pumpkins at their best...no doubt about it...

  • un tema que me provoca caminar deambular perderme y disfrutar lo vivido.... You'll never pull me in, In my body....................

  • super relajante

  • this song is made for chilling in the balcony during the nights

  • This song should have been on an album or soundtrack. I only heard it because of Youtube.

  • billy Corgan has perminatly left a part of him in all of us who listen to his music today, some people say hes selling out but i belive he is just openning a new chapter in music, music is how Billy captures the world in his hands and i belive he should never stop and most kids toda y listen to shitty music like cody simson or justin bever or what ever but im the different one who listens to real music. ill never stop listening to the pumpkins even if im consisder an emo or a punk for it so be it.

  • The best song from Machina II... also one of the few on there that sounds truly finished.

  • could somebody please upload jupiters lament? it would be greatly appreciated!

  • Good song!!!:-)

  • hypnotic

  • This is the kind of song that makes me want to go outside and dance in the rain

  • God talks with me throught this song and i'm not kidding

  • @cordfluidnevoie you need therapy

  • @MrShroomtits hello! how is it going! i just like to say i'm finally on terapy! carpe diem(nox)

  • @cordfluidnevoie You are right, Billy Corgan is God! :)

  • love this song from Machina II... as always Billy was ahead of the curve releasing that album for free on the net. I love Teargarden so far... A Stitch in Time, Astral Planes, Freak, Tom Tom... my favs so far. I have been honestly surprised the music is so good (was a bit disappointed overall with Zeitgeist... although Stellar is IMHO one of the best SP songs of all time) Billy is an inspiration!

  • I've always seen the pumpkins as my favourite band, and yet i've never heard this song! Im still finding classics that they didn't put on their albums! Thank you Pumpkins r.i.p

  • one of my very favorite SP songs. it's indescribably good. his voice, my god his voice.

  • is this machina or what?

  • @GermanPeoplePerson Machina II/The Friends and Enemies of Modern Musc

  • I think many of us long for the Siamese dream days...

  • you'll never pull me out

  • pinche cancion esta bien chingona.

  • why is this such a fan favorite? i always thought it was boring and repetetive

  • @Bayview05 Just because a song is repetitive does not make it boring.

  • @KyleHeresy i said AND repetitive.

  • Machina II had some gems on it. I also like Home, Innosence, Go and Real Love!

  • I can't believe I ever disregarded the Smashing Pumpkins, I thought they were so different then what they actually were. I heard Perfect on the radio and searched it up at home..found out it was the Smashing Pumpkins and things took off from there. Definitely one of my top favorite bands.

  • My "thinking" song

  • wow. i just realized that smashing pumpkins is one of my favorite bands.

  • what album is this or where can i find this song

  • @Eztli92 have you heard of a thing called google?

  • @themistoklis1984, Roger sir, that is a burn.

  • @Eztli92 Machina II/The Friends and Enemies of Modern Music

.. it's free for download all over the internet. It was legally placed on the internet for free by Billy when it was released. So you don't have to worry about getting in trouble or whatever.

  • one of the most UN-rated sp songs of all time, sounds like he revisted the Adore period

  • It's just so hypnotic, so haunting, the lyrics are the kind that make your skin tingle, "wasted sunsets, haunting my torment", so beautiful and melancholic, it defines the sound of the pumpkins so perfectly, I love that this song or the album was not released to the public in stores, only the true fans have this and its so rewarding, thanks for posting this and letting me remember countless days closing my eyes and letting the song drift me away to far away places...

  • Very Cure-esque.

  • GOTHIC

  • Refreshingly beautiful. Reminds me of Walking In My Shoes by Depeche Mode.

  • EPIC. fucking epic. We miss this billy. Come back to us.

  • @jessekwoozy What do you mean "we miss this Billy. Come back to us?" Billy is still making great music and hasn't gone anywhere. I just saw him in Seoul, Korea 2 weeks ago. It was awesome. I saw him in Las Vegas 2 years ago. Billy is one of my favorites of all time.

  • @fatcatbuzz haha yeah! he came to singapore as well in august! Im so glad i got to see him before he stopped performing altogether. cuz you know the pumpkins were around for a long time and im still just 15 so i feel real honoured that I got to see him and even touch his hand. billy is the man

  • @blacktheory It was definitely great to see the original band back in the day, but they never will get back together. It's a shame, but Billy still puts on a great show live. Mainly because he has mad skills as a guitarist. When Gish and Siamese dream came out I was a teenage in high school. Other than Hendrix, it was Billy Corgan was my biggest influence back then. I always loved that wall of guitar and feedback thing they did. Even though Nirvana was great, Billy was better at that things.

  • @fatcatbuzz I would hate to see the old lineup back together Darcy would giving Billy the evil eye and flipping-off the crowed like she did during her last days with SP, James would be want to get it over so he could go home, and Jimmy would be board and wanting to do his own thing. That would be unbearable to see, I would rather have my memories of the band as they were than new memories of a miserable band.

  • @nicholsjoshua15 I totally agree with you. And Billy really was the heart of the band. Even though I wish Billy would just be a solo act, it's his right to do what ever he wants to do with the SP name. I have seen the old Pumpkins and the new one. Here in Seoul in fact. I still think Billy puts on a great show. Even though I'm not a fan of the new material, I still love Billy's live act. Let's just hope he doesn't continue to sell his ticket for $80 (in Las Vegas, or 100,000₩ here in Korea)

  • Comment removed

  • @nicholsjoshua15 I don't hate all of Billy's new stuff and some of it's quite good, but I don't care for all of it for sure. Maybe I'm waiting for MCIS part II or something. Like I said, I still love the live shows, but I don't think I can swing the money that is being charge for tickets. I saw them in 1996 for $30 and for free in 1998 in my home city of Minneapolis. In 2008, I saw them in Vegas for $85 and this year in Seoul for 100,000₩ (or about $88 US). That's the last time I pay that much.

  • @fatcatbuzz Yeah but from what I here concert tickets will be around 25$ dollars or 40 US dollars. I saw R.E.M. one time for free Micheal Stipe, and Mike Mills did a little acoustic gig at the airport in Atlanta. Georgia.

  • @nicholsjoshua15 Nice. I love REM. I just hope that the next time they are in town the ticket are cheaper. But, if I stay in Asia for a while, I think they'll be expensive know matter what.

  • @fatcatbuzz He is making new music that sounds rushed. His voice over powers the songs and the lyrics are very repetative from teargarden

  • @Iknowgoodmusic I have to admit, I'm not the biggest fan of the new stuff. I grew up with old school Pumpkins, being a fan since Gish. And really can only say I've listen to the new stuff a couple of times. I like "Freak" though, and they did play it lave. I just saw the Pumpkins about 2 months ago and have to say that I think Billy is still great live.

But, you make a point that I was just thinking about my self. I wish Billy would go back to concentrating on the music a little bit more.

  • @fatcatbuzz I agree with you the old style is what I like as well and people think you have to like everything Billy puts out to be a true fan. I like pearl jam and stp but some of their new stuff just sucks.

  • @Iknowgoodmusic To me, the Pumpkins from 1988 (I hope Billy will official release some of that stuff one day, especially on vinyl) to 2000 will always be the real Pumpkins. I have to admit that I wasn't too happy when he decided to continue the name. But, I guess it's just that, a name, though I will he would have just stayed solo. I'm glad I got to see them as the full line up. I even liked seeing the band the last two times. I wish Billy would concentrate on the music side a little more.

  • this song is amazing... billy is besides himself when it comes to making music.

  • id this song about...a rape?

  • @boribori90 its about his gf burned alive in a car wreck, her name was june

  • In my body

    You'll never find me

    you'll never pull me out

  • My favourite Machina II track. So atmospheric.

  • adorable song

  • Haunting/Sorrowful/Beautiful

  • again, great song right?

hugs from mexico! see you on msn!

    take care!

  • Machina I not so much of great album, Machina I + II kick ass!!!!!!!!!

  • I adore this song!!

  • yea billy corgans has the kind of voice that gives you goosebumps, this song kinda reminds me of EYE from the lost highway soundtrack <(david lynch)

  • is there on net midi of this song??? i wanna make remix. hm

  • This song is pure Smashing Pumpkins! I always dug the gothic sound.

  • @DrAsshat sound very " Adore "

  • my comment or my music?

If it's my music, Adore is one of my favorite albums of all time.

If it's my comment, Adore is one of my favorite albums of all time.

  • This is the kind of song I used to listen to on a cloudy rainy day while I was high.

  • Some of SP's songs like this one remind me of Depeche Mode.

  • machina was such a much better album than people give it credit for

  • Beautiful and haunting.

  • billy Corgan is amasing !!!! Like his sons =]

  • excelentsssssssss

  • I prayed for the Great Pumpkin's Best.

    This song came to me.

    Thank you.

    RASIV ("Katalina Translates")

  • his voice makes me feel better..like, you know, "there's someone else like me out there". Someone who's capable of sharing.. THIS.

  • Billy Corgan has undoubtedly burned his thumbprint in music forever. That voice is just unmistakable. When you hear a song like this, so good that just listening to it once can alter your outlook on everything around you, you know it's SP. There is not one song from this band I don't love.

  • @dropdeadbrunette

    i agree..his voice is unmistakable...and perfect!

  • @dropdeadbrunette You speak true words fellow :)

  • @dropdeadbrunette lol have you listened to Corgan's latest material? you better haven't unless you want your precious SP memories turded down the toilet

  • The picture goes great with the song.

  • Is this the original version that was available for download as part of Machina II? The sound is much clearer and less fuzzy, and also a little slower, than the one I have. Great tune nonetheless .... my favourite from Machina II.

  • his sound is untouchable so dark and meloncholy an physcadelic

  • this song is absolutly brilliant and beautiful!!!!!dam i miss this cd !!!!lost it :"(

  • SP rock

  • Wow I 've never heard this song before! It's great.

  • this entire album was a soul aching, heart breaking experience to listen to.

  • I agree. home, vanity, slow dawn, real love, in my opinion some of the best work Billy has ever released.

also the machina II version of atom bomb is incredible

  • i totally agree

  • From 2:10 to 2:15 it's so close to perfection...

  • Beautiful song. I miss the good old pumpkins

  • One of the great slower pumpkins songs

  • Thanks for your work and sense of sharing .

  • RESPECT MACHINA.

  • never heard this song from machina album...but once i hearing it...what a beautiful melody.....

  • it's from the machina II album

  • amo a Billy

  • tb yo. se parece al muñekito d una banda virtual q esta pegando duro aqui en Italia sin ser una producción de millon de U$.buscar SWAVE IN THE FUTURE

  • great

  • This is a great song.I listen to it again and again.Billy Corgan is a great songwriter.

  • what a song......

  • exactly!! I appreciate melody and thats most of the skill like the STP brothers and Mark T from Alterbridge makes the songs great. Billy writes and sings and that takes a lot of skill. But to me melody comes first

  • Whenever I play this to some people, they don't seem to like it. Or at least like I do, I just don't think they understand?

  • I found that when it comes to The Smashing Pumpkins, some people can't get past Billy Corgan's voice. As a huge Pumpkins fan, I can definitely agree that it's an acquired sound.

It's a shame that some poeple can't appreciate melody over vocals, this is a seriously beautiful tune. :)

  • I can understand the screachy stuff they don't like, but he can sound pretty cool when he does the softer voice thing. He did less of that in Zwan and same with his solo so I didn't bother as much with those. Plus I couldn't find matching musical levels as it is with the Pumpkins.

  • hmmm im guessing this song is from the album adore?

it's the only album i don't have so I only know the well known tracks from that album.

  • No it's from Machina II. It wasent a real studio album, he leaked it online for his fans for free, U can find it online to download.

  • machina II!?

i have the first one but i never knew there was a second, I'll look it up:)

thanks a lot, you can never have to much Smashing Pumpkins!!!!!!

  • Ya man you can get it for free, look it up on wikipedia. Watch out tho, some of the links lead to better audio files than others. Some of them don't sound as good.

  • where's the photograph from? i like it.

  • This is my favourite from machina 2 too, with Lucky 13, Vanity and Home.

This song had an adore vibe and a dark atmosphere on it.

  • Billy is an awesome poet.

  • My favorite from Machina II, this song sounds so familiar to any pumpkins fan and oddly enough, it could fit in well in any period. I've been a fan for 15 or 16 years now and I feel this "sound" is quintessentially BC/SP. More of this in the future and I'll be a happy man!

  • I am proudto have all there b-sides and rarities-------------favorite band ever--since i was 13

    13 years ago................

By the way i have a band now and i have songs on my channel if anyone wants to hear them

    thanks,,,jmoody

  • I think this song is very original and trippy sounding

  • yeah ill find ur dead body in my closet for

  • yeah back in the days the "b-sides" were tons better than the stuff he brings out today.. i don't feel anything about the new songs.. nothing

  • it's interesting that you say that cos to some extent i feel the same way. i think a lot of us hard core early fans do but that doesn't mean we stop caring and supporting his music. i still manage to see beauty in his current music and i appreciate it but it doesnt speak to me like it did when i was a teenager.

  • i agree but i think almost everyone kinda feels that way about ther teenage years and the music they listened to at that time. A special time in everyones life even if the experiences wer bad.

  • Hmm, that's an interesting point. However I'm only 20 and personally I much prefer his works from Gish to Machina than I do on Tarantula and his new stuff. And it's not b/c I listened to his earlier works when I was younger LOL (I bought Tarantula before I had Machina I/II). But I still like the new things too. Maybe now that he no longer has Chamberline his songs will be more innovative (like it was on Adore).

  • For all that are wondering, this song wasn't released

It was on the unreleased album Machina II: Friends and Enemies of Modern Music.

Also, 'Real Love' which was on the greatest hits was from that 2nd Machina album

  • rip smashing pumpkins

  • Jimmy is such a tight drummer!

And I love the colorful production work in this song! So bright and illuminating!

Am proud to have been exposed to this; as I've never heard it before!

  • i haven't seen that photo before. its cool.

  • I sometimes dance to this song in my room, i love the way Billy expresses emotion with his guitars.

I especially love the guitar solo on this song,

for me, it is an expressesion of years of hurt, sorrow, darkness and loneliness.

  • i hate men like this. they make you fall in love with them. is there anything else to life? billy c. could do that till he dies. his sound causes reaction in any woman, his words, in any man for that matter (ahh?)

  • Awsome, where come from this song?

  • awesomeness

  • Best band ever...

  • Thanks for posting.. I love this song. FYI Jimmy just left the band today.... wtf. go check their website

  • Hypinotic!

  • oooohh shittttt!!!!!!!!!fuck i havent heard this one for a while it was my all time fav of machina 2 fuckin amazing!! amazing pscyadelic gloomy feel! fuckin absoulty a work of art!!!!and i would have to say that is one of the coolsest fuckin pics ive ever seen !

  • i can't find a word to describe this song...so amazing so goood:)

  • I remember listening to this song around Christmas of 99'. My Dad was dying of Cancer and did pass that following May. But this song, strange as it may sound will always take me back to my last Christmas w/ my Dad. I will never go a Christmas without listening to it and reflecting my time w/ him and especially that Christmas.

  • :) sorry about your dad

  • Damn :(

  • :`( I feel so sorry for you. At least this song gives you something to remember him by.

  • Machina II is a great album. Too bad it wasn't released in a better version. I think it was released from record to web to us. Poor quality.

  • what are you on about?

  • haha why?, and the young die so you can die. lol

  • sorry i meant what album is this from

  • this is from machina II: friends and enemies of modern music,or perhaps I didn't understand your question, english is not my first lenguage, sorry

  • What is this from ??

  • machina II, great album, even better than machina, i'm not sure about that, both albums are great anyway

  • thank u for uploading this song, it's one of my favourites, thanks!

  • The perfect song to listen in the rainy days

  • exactly. I love this song. It reminds me of a foggy day, just about to rain.

One of my favourite songs :)
