It was fun to see it! I wish Id thought of keeping more than one! Maybe on another run through! I tried to get swimming WITH the barbarian active today and failed. I skipped the barbarian and went and got swimming at the underground puzzle, but when I returned the Barbarian was gone :(
I wouldn't exactly say he's saved. He's being left to die on his own...alone in the bog with no real way to get off the Barbarian Arena without dying.

It's a fun glitch. You might be able to save more than one of the summoned folks this way, I can't remember if I had tried it.
