It's looks much better in smartphones in a graphics-machine ratio. I don't own an iPad/iPhone but despite its clumsy looks, Gameloft can make awesome gameplay.

Don't judge it by its looks and buy it. It's worth it.

It's envitable, the future of gaming sadly is freemium/Free-2-play. It's happening mostly with online MMO's and mobile gaming. It's only a matter of time before they hit consoles...oh wait XBox are already doing it starting with Dungeon Fighter Online next year...
