Lots of people, atleast here in the US. People are NOT hunting deer with 9mm. Handguns, like the 500 mag in this video, are as powerful as a lot of rifles. However, they use big and slow bullets. This gives them shorter range. In half the state here in Michigan, you have to use a shotgun or a handgun because a people might live in the hunting area. Look up "handgun hunting" on youtube.

aim with a straight elbow lined up with the sights. the recoil with travel back through your arm into the shoulder. if you fire this gun at an angle not level with the elbow and shoulder the recoil effects re much worse on the wrists. you have to use your arm as a kind of rifle stock. btw: these look like 420 grain.
