Hello Kevin~ Funny I found you at random surfing! I was there and I do remember that night as we hung outside chatting away the evening. Hope things are well and your life!?
Embarrassing question, but: If they shut down the nuclear plant, what do they replace it with? The only other fuel they have in large amounts over there is coal.
At the end of the day, it doesn't matter how good his singing or playing is. He's Pete Seeger. It's just the energy that he gives; the integrity with which he has always lived. He is such a beautiful soul and is still out there protesting and singing and playing for what he believes in. It is my hope that there will be folks out there continuing his fight after he's gone. I'll be one of them.
Plus, he's 90 years old. I'm surprised his fingers even work anymore!
We need another folk revival in the States. I love America but I am very disheartend in the moral and political state of America today. We need to wake up.
If I had a Million dollars, I would pay it to see Pete "live". Who gives a halfpenny about his voice then and now. He is a Miracle and deserves glory. Pete, if you read this, come to Ottawa Canada again and I will attend. Damn, apparently I missed you in 2008. Jeez, when is your next tour ... just stand on stage if you have to. Will I be able to see you in person? Let me know - PINERAVEN.
Pete Seeger is a national treasure and a hero for the working man and the average citizen and for the ecology of our planet as he is a major force in the clean up of the Hudson River Valley as well as a musical inspiration to many.
he'll be 90 years old in march! Its funny how when the rock/pop singers age they sound different. But Pete sounds just as good as he did 50 Years ago!
Despite the fact that I don't agree with his political views, I still think Pete's music is oh-so-wonderful. That having been said, I think that - nowadays - Pete does better when he has someone singing harmony with him. When he sings by himself, it just isn't that good anymore. Honestly, I think the last time his voice was decent was circa 1996, when he made his last official album, entitled, "Pete". Even then, his voice was starting to go.
No, unfortunately, you are not being harsh, you do happen to correct. Pete has had illnesses over the last 10 years that has truly deteriorated his voice, but mostly it's his hearing that is not as good anymore. But as you see here, he's been playing with his grandson Tao since his teens.
I played with Pete in the Hudson River Sloop Singers from when I was 15 to I was about 30. I got to even back him up one concert at Carnegie Hall. Pete is a friend, a mentor, and was always so kind to me.
well, you know, Pete doesn't sing that good anymore, but it doesn't matter what his voice sounds like. It's the interpretation, the fact that all his songs come from the heart.
That would be Mr. Pete with his new musical parner in crime.. his grandson Tao . It is so refreshing knowing that Pete has passed on this great Folk Tradition to his grandson and to the younger generation.
Grandpa Pete is a National Treasure! Please don't forget to sign the petition for Pete's consideration for The Nobel Peace Prize.

I'm jealous of Tao.....I wish Pete was my grandfather:)
My heart goes out to Pete in thanks for his music & his life - which was spent trying to better the lot of the common man.
With his talents & what he has learned from Pete, I hope that Tao will continue Pete's legacy after he passes from this world.
God bless Pete Seeger!

Pete looks unbelievably strong for 90. That banjo solo is whack, though. It reminds me Bill Tapia's first CD.
