@hellbunny325 not really the 12 string from the E to G string both strings are tuned to the same note just an octave higher and the B and high E strings are tuned the same.

You dont always want to tune a 12 string to standard you might want it a half step or even a full step down because in standard tuning the brdge and sound board are taking 400 pounds of pressure enough that within 10 20 years to completley warp the top. trust me I know because my Antares 12 string is in the graveyard because of this.

back in 1986 i've tested an sambora doubleneck @ ovation dealer and it was awesome. the 6string on top to have better controls on playing solos , this is the reason why richie wants it this way^^, and today i have tested such an axe. its not as good as the smbovation....and it looks poor, no star-inlays, no mother of pearl at the body or around the neck

Having the twelve string on top is much easier to play that is why Gibson's SG double neck is made the way it is. Again, an all wood acoustic sounds much better. The double Sambora uses is koa wood, damn hard wood, sounds fantastic.

i have that guitar too. I bought it in Indonesia. Try using a BOSS digital delay and a fishman amp. The sound is just soo heavenly !!!

it's an Ovation CSD225 Double Neck in Cherry Burst (I have one too ^^), features a 12-string on top and a 6-string on the bottom, OP-24+ pre-amp on board - the list goes on. It's B-E-A-U-Tiful and quite heavy!
