  • I am a proud Canadian, and I am proud to be a free Atheist! Thank you Canada!

  • the man going on about the galaxies being gods creation made me weep. As a physicist, and amateur astronomer, it pains me to see a belief like that this day and age.

  • atheism should be punishable by death

  • @sprPee i know your a troll caus no one believes in god anymore.

  • God and no god are within the eternal cycle of of eternity, it is what keeps us moveing forward in this life and lets us remember what our past lifes have been, to help us in our current present as we know and see it today, and to help.us understand what we must do in our future that has yet to be seen by anyone but the dreamers who make it real in what ever means they see fit,

Thank you much love to all

  • atheist just don't belive in god get over it.

those extremist are the onces that can rot away

  • Well we have to think, there have been religions that have come and gone a thousand times over in the past, people are just starting to realize, "ya know, maybe all religions are wrong, not just the old ones"

  • What? The purpose of Infinite Regression isn't to dispute the existence of God. The purpose is to showcase the absurdity of Theist's claims that God created all. Atheists have so much more damning (lulz) evidence to dispute the existence of a deity and the host used Infinite Regression :/

  • I believe that what I believe is not important whether my belief is believable or unbelievable since belief does not bring belief to become better person than I am today because there is a belief about truth and there is a pragmatical belief that is more practical than the belief that I don't care to believe or not to that I state in the beginning of this short paragraph about belief.

  • Here's a simple argument. You know about god from two sources: the bible and the church. If you disprove those two sources, you disprove the origin for your belief.

CHURCH: Witch hunts, indulgences, crusades, fence-sitting during WWII, condoning slavery until made illegal, and protecting pedophiles.

BIBLE: A hate-filled tome which is brimming with inconsistency, contradiction, archaic superstition and evil morals.

Done. Even the story of Jesus is bullshit. Read up on Horus and wake up.

  • If you nature and thinking its a work of God then this shows ignorance in the natural processes that are at work.

  • wow, i live in whitby!

  • "poof of god's existance" lol

  • @gavlang "der iz no poof" :P I think the accent is south african but I may be incorrect

  • @DarknessLPs Probably an afrikaaner. Not all South Africans talk like that. If you talk like that in my crowds, you get made fun of.

  • @gavlang I'm not going to presume what 'crowds' you run in but thank you for the correction, like I said, I may be incorrect. I tend to be about many things when it comes to people and cultures, I'm more of a computer guy, so again, thank you for the correction but you'll have to pardon me as I don't know what an afrikaaner is so I'll have to look that up.

  • Atheists don't convert. We convince.

  • When the news host said that openly stating that one is an atheist is like "a slap in the face" to some believer, that both good and bad news. The bad new (or good, depending on your perspective) is that that the person being slapped should be ashamed of themselves for having such low self-esteem that just by being someone who is not religious hurts their precious feelings. The good news... is that the person being slapped might still learn the methods of rationality and not rely on faith.

  • Its not a belief!

  • Why do we Atheists have to proove there is no god?!!? Thats like saying I have superpowers but I don't have to prove it to you you just have to believe me....

  • Everyone is watching An actual step foward in Mankind this is real progress

  • "Loosing my religion" What a hypocrite statement if you can loose you religion you were NEVER saved in the first place. Stop lying to yourself.

  • @LordJesus4Ever On the contrary "LordJesus4Ever", loosing one's religion simply means that the one the phrase is referring too is in the process of or had already been liberated from a life of delusional fantasies... unlike you I suppose.

  • @frankystein12 One day, VERY SOON...... ALL will realise that Jesus IS the KING of KINGS. He is the one who will judge you. It dont matter if you believ in HIM or not you will be judged. I just dont understand why people walk away from LOVE. I mean we in a world full of hate and disrespect, why wold we not want to embrace love for our humkind. Love your neighbour as yourself. Treat others the way you want to be treated. Any ways hope you will listen to Jesus' calling before its to late.

  • @LordJesus4Ever What about the Crusades, the Protestant Reformation wars and the many persecutions of different christian sects.

    Any proof?

  • @LordJesus4Ever Dude Why don't you want to be the king? Why this Jesus person? Why not me? I think I would make a good king. I could also love everyone as goodl as jesus so everyone Love lord Keon for he will give you cookies and milk if you believe in him.

  • @LordJesus4Ever What about the billions of people (Chinese, Indians etc) who haven't even heard of your Jesus who didn't condemn slavery by the way and who's dad's hobby is to commit genocides?

  • Indeed , christians are just a threatened "specie" now , hahaha.

  • atheism should be punishable by death? give it a try and the devout will meet their maker quicker than planned.

  • oh god....congregating? We're degenerating into a shadow of the Christian faith? -_-;

  • Atheism is not the belief that there in NO god (in that there is a possibility one exists), we lack the belief in a god as there is no evidence.

  • I don't understand the Butterfly part. And how are the cosmos proof? Everything we learn in religion is about how Earth is so great. But the cosmos outdoes Earth (in a manner of speaking).

  • @UltraComboer the beauty of the butterfly inspires awe. of course some people entirely forget other creatures like say....the pitbull that rips off someone's arm. Or the bear that mauls a child camping with their family. They forget the bad stuff.

  • @dubbleplusgood They also don't mention parasites. How is it "intelligent design" to have something feed and live off of another creature? Most times spreading a disease.

  • why do they never mention Daniel Dennett

  • the narrator sounds like wesley willis

  • Punishable by death.

Holy double fucking shitty ass cheese covered shitburgers. Get off of this planet.

  • Butterflies are a great example of evolution in that the patterns on their wings more often than not resemble the vegetation that they consume making them more difficult to be spotted by a likely predator.

  • Most christians in canada are just passive catholics ... they dont really go to church ,nor do they shun their fellow countrymen , here in canada we dont see our own citizen ripping on each other for politics or religion ...

Only tho ... well ,there was the thing with the french canadians ,but theyll get over it ...

  • Comment removed

  • @SovietMudkipTheTiger lol I'm french canadian and I can tell you what wrote applies in Quebec too...dunno what you were talking about with "the thing" but quebecois are not highly religious people

  • @goldenchocolate I meant , the french canadian sovereignist movement ... They tried to separate twice and still kind of hate canada and english canadians ... >____>

  • @SovietMudkipTheTiger ignorance is stubborn.

  • I've always had skepticism about religion and God since I was a child. There's no proven evidence about God's existence.

  • This is a false report. Canadian atheists are NOT shunned by their Christian family members; Canadian Christians are shunned by their atheist family members. I've seen that my whole life.

  • rofl look at his shirt.. "I also don't believe in Santa Claus" ShockOfGod talks about how athiest love to talk about some santa claus

  • @KONGtuffSu Shock of God is an idiot. Any thinking person (religious or not) can see that...

  • CBC: the fox news of Canada

  • @spetznas101 I am an atheist, born and raised here in Canada, cbc news is waaaaay better than FOX 'news', trust me..

  • @spetznas101 Except 10000 times better

  • wow...that is one smart rapper!!!! Congradulation my friend keep on good work!!! from an atheist canadian

  • There is no PROOF that god does NOT exist! Ha!

PEOPLE!!! The concept of proof is that a PROOF is a mechanism that shows beyond a shadow of a doubt that something is in FACT true, not the other way around.

Everything is INHERENTLY unproven until prof is found for it. Thus god by DEFAULT does NOT exist until someone finds incontestable proof for his existence.

So the burden is to prove "something" exists, not the other way around. WAKE UP PEOPLE!

  • rofl who was narrating, Bob Marley?

  • This is a sadly shallow analysis of the argument between theism and non-theism. The basic essence is simply belief or non-belief in the SUPERNATURAL (for which there has NEVER been evidence provided). This vid makes it seem like a matter of subjective interpretation (ex: do pretty butterflies prove there is a god).

  • Shwanerd,

I missed this story. When did it originally air on the CBC?

  • 2007 I believe...

  • they will come out and fry in the lake of fire

  • Ok.

  • @valu777 hahaha, yeah, sure...whatever helps you sleep at night..lol

  • @MindfulFuture God loves you that much he even keeps your tears

  • Comment removed

  • @valu777 your claims of certainty expose your childlike ignorance. And we're deluded! Lol..keep learnin'.

  • @MindfulFuture my comment is from the bible , its a great read if you wish to seek God our creator

  • @valu777 I've read it, thanks. I'm not new to your particular chosen religion. I prefer the prehistoric religions as they are much mor philosophically interesting to me and not carved with a blade of dogma. They are of a more innocent wonder.

  • @MindfulFuture yes but can those other religions save you from HELL?

  • @valu777 I'm sorry, did I give you the impression that I was a candidate for indoctrination? I prefer those religions to yours but I am not misguided eough to actually believe in any of them. They are all myths of man, as is yours. There is no such place as hell. Sheol-Hebrew-pit in ground/grave. The end. which is exactly where this 'conversation' has found itself.

  • @MindfulFuture then the day you die what will you find after death?

  • YAY CBC!

  • "is the butterfly proof enough for god?"

What!? It's not proof at all!

  • Wow the host actually doesn't know where the burden of proof lies?

  • @dlandon2000

i think of the theologian's "god's reflection all the way to the butterfly", does that include wolf hunting? where the wolves will hold a doe's (female deer) head down, and rip at it's rear til it can get in and will continue tearing out the internal organs of the thing while it's still alive. is that also apart of your idea of god? not a god i want to have anything to do with.

  • @sylence7 I have no idea what you are talking about.

  • @dlandon2000 hi dlandon.

sorry, I should be clear. In it the theologian says that life is a reflection of god all the way down to the butterfly. meaning in everything he sees god, so my question to him would be "do you see your god's reflection in wolf pack hunting?" wolf hunting is far from clean kills, it's probably the most horrid way to die, having your insides ripped out of you while alive. basically, how could this "all loving creator" create something as hideous as that?

  • @sylence7 Oh ya, basically the problem of evil. I agree.

  • @dlandon2000 It's always the butterfly and not the cockroach, tapeworm or a virus...Who created them?

  • Are they apologetic enough?

  • lol, the slap in the face is in the first 10 seconds she refers to Atheism as a belief system...

  • When I was still a believer I often contemplated on how the nature of god was displayed in nature, Then one day watching a nature program I saw a gazelle give birth to her calf and before it had taken it's first step a hyena was ripping its guts out eating it alive. Yea isn't god great.

  • Isn't the CBC a government ran TV station? WTF are talking about religion? Fuck, I hate the CBC. The CBC is Canada's, somewhat, smarter big brother of Fox News.

  • @FallenAngel0fDoom It seems to be an objective analysis.

The Fox version would have been: the evil of atheism.

  • You're right.

Also, after I watched the next part of this series, I learnt that there is no law separating church from state in Canada. I just assumed that there was.

  • That has something to do with the fact that religious people are far less rabid in Canada.

  • @dangerouslytalented People in general, are less rabid up here. Which also frustrates us who want to stand up for anything. Surrounded by apathy up here.

  • "Opposite belive" *cough cough*

  • Yeah that was a bit crap how it failed within the first ten seconds.. :/

Would be nice if people like this reporter bothered to pick up a frigging dictionary before making fools of themselves.

  • Well she is from CBC so what do expect?

  • Just because stupidity or ignorance isn't a surprise, doesn't mean it shouldn't be ridiculed or railed against ;)

  • That's true, but honestly the only thing good that CBC has ever produced is CBC radio, I love listening to CBC radio on ym way to TO! O:

  • Evangelizing is a term for faith-heads. We prefer it be called what it is, education. Haha, you believe in ghosts and magic. EVIDENCE dude... don't got it? gtfo with that 'tools to tell the weather' nonsense lol. Both weather and not-God exist! Hail Science.

  • It's quite a coincidence how the things that can't be sensed are a lot like the nonexistent.

  • So you think that just because you can't sense God with your five physical senses that gives you the epistemic rights to declare that God doesn't exist?

  • No, but it certainly doesn't help its case, which I can more than fairly reject.

God's really no different than fairies being responsible for carbonated soft drinks. Can I assume you believe in soda fairies if you can't disprove them?

Not to be too nitpicky, but humans have more than 5 senses. (no, nothing like ESP.)

    /wiki/Human_senses#Senses.

  • Addendum: it doesn't help a vague, unspecificied god. The god of the bible, that one ain't in existence.

  • Athiests don't spread "the word"

    We spread the truth.

  • @OHsneakerluvr73 God is coming and will set you straight.

  • @SpiritMansion LMAO!! You wish! No matter how hard you want to believe it's all true, it never was and never will be.

  • This is really old.

  • This narrator is awful.

  • I agree.

    >He's an ex-gang member from Compton California and he served his time in the War on Terror in Iraq. Now he's taking up the cause of atheism like a soldier in the army of the godless.

Methink's he's trying to say something

  • This is actually old. It was on over a year ago, maybe longer.

  • That rap was great

  • wish i caught this on tv

  • 5:45 I really love this guy!

  • Wrong from the start. Atheism is not an "opposite belief" to religion but the lack thereof.

  • Right, people need to understand that "not X" doesn't necessarily mean "opposite to X", just "not X". This is another reason why people can not understand science. For something to be scientific, it has to be falsifiable, or capable of being proven false. Science can only prove something false, or not false, which does ot necessarily mean true. Which is why the God "Hypothesis" will not be scientific as long as theists try to place it above and separate from the natural realm.

  • "Science can only prove something false, or not false"

This is something that annoys me. We can never truly know what the universe actually is, we can only find the most basic explanation we can think of for it.

    =(

  • I share your pain, but this is what makes the universe an interesting place and what gives it it's mystery, the elusiveness of its true nature.

  • Aaaahh... I remember this broadcast from a while back.... And so far no one has mentioned which of the 4600+ gods that they are talking about. ;O)

    P.S.

    Cool video... ★★★★★

    Katalyzt

  • <3 Greydon Square!

    This is great, thanks Shwa

  • It isn't a matter of god or not god (and gods). More than half of the population of the earth have it wrong no matter what the truth is. Most important question that I believe should be asked is, what kind of ass hole deity would punish more than half of the population for not believing a proposition that hasn't even been provided with evidence? Is such an ass hole god more or less likely than no god or a fair god who don't need worship?

  • Man has spoken, yoh. Listen to the journalist, bitches.

    Nice videos :).

  • GraydonSquare FOR THE WIN!
